Still having trouble with my 2000 wrangler TJ 6cyl, automatic

Original problem was a surge of RPM when shifting into gear. Also shifting from 1st to 2nd was erratic and at too high a speed. Installed a new PCM engine controller, solved the surge, but then wouldn't start. found broken crankshaft sensor wire.. replaced it. then ran okay. Adjusted the front band in the transmission, solved shifting issue. Test drive went well except for intermittent cutting ...

    I built 6 of these.. The barrels don't have to be strapped in due to the weight of the barrels. They are locked in place even in a swell. Water finds its own level so if the base is done properly you can use a level building on water.

    • @markwoodringdvm5653
      @markwoodringdvm5653 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      barrels were strapped only to allow the crane to lift it into the water without them falling out. if weight is at one end, such as a new wall and a couple workers, the platform tilts off level. not a reliable parameter, thus why we kept everything square. also have counterweights within porch wall to offset the kitchen weight to keep everything closer to actual level

    Jesus H Christ on a bicycle! If you ever make another video, _please_ slow down the transitions between photos/slides. It was so fast that I couldn't watch it because it was causing something like vertigo. Plus, the speed made it nearly impossible to see what was in the photos. Maybe 5 seconds between transitions would work a lot better. In this case, less would definitely be more. Still congratulations on building a nice floating home.

    Wow! That is one busy azz airport. Your airplane looks great. I stumbled on your channel and I'm researching all the Zenith builds I can find. Just looking back it seems you've had the 701 completed for quite some time, but yet to see a first flight. For me, a taxi test involves running it down a a long, smooth runway coming to almost liftoff- rinse and repeat. Good luck to you sir from Texas.

    It's just unbelievable how fast the parts corrode, you've already reported about these problems in some videos before. Since you have an amphibious aircraft, is it not possible to do the flight tests from your property (canal)?

    • @markwoodringdvm5653
      @markwoodringdvm5653 ปีที่แล้ว

      the faa test program is pretty specific. water work doesnt come until later in the program. although the canal is wide enough to use, I am hesitant to use it for first flights as there is not much room for error. it also is not an approved area for flight. in addition, it is actually within the control zone of the airport....... just doesnt add up to start operations from here

    I have a similar Dreammaker spa with same motor and plumbing. My temp sensors died, so I replaced them. I had to remove much of the foam insulation around the pump outlet plumbing like you did. Now, in Florida, the motor compartment gets hot and confuses the temp sensors, causing the computer to shut down. I don't remember where the foam insulation was previously and obviously you have removed your foam also. Wonder how yours works now. Do the temp sensors work OK?

Some makeshift foam insulation around the sensors didn't help either.

      @@sailork3506 How did you know your temp sensors were bad? What were the symptoms? If you read my post above to Mark, I just got my pump unlocked and got my Dreamaker to start up BUT now, I have another issue in that I can only run in SL (sleep mode) because any other mode trips my GFCI. I'm wondering if the 15Amp GFCI that I just had the electrician put in for me is bad or if I screwed something else up when I was in there unlocking the pump / motor and adding teflon to the incoming PVC pipe that was leaking all over the pump. Here I was thinking I was up and running just in the time for Winter and now ANOTHER issue with this hot tub. I've had it 11 years and we really like it so I hope we can get it figured out. Thanks in advance if anyone has any advice.

    • @sailork3506
      @sailork3506 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@y2kbmet Tripping a breaker could be one of several things. First, this spa is at the limit of a 15a breaker. So if your circuit is shared, it may exceed the limit and trip. Second, breakers wear out. I had to replace my dishwasher GFI breaker just recently because it was tripping ($60, ouch!). Third, there may be leakage between neutral and ground in the unit. Make sure you didn't cause the ground wire to get where it shouldn't. I replaced the bare ground wire, which was very stiff and hard to connect, with a flexible green insulated ground wire from home depot. I believe 14 gauge is enough, though I may have put in 12.

    • @y2kbmet
      @y2kbmet ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sailork3506 Thanks for getting back. I hope Mark doesn't get upset we are using his post to troubleshoot but believe this is a good info for all Dreamaker owners as I'm learning a lot more as we troubleshoot. UPDATE: What you mentioned was exactly some of what I was also thinking so yesterday I plugged it into a completely different 15amp breaker and it also tripped. Then I plugged into a larger one and it stays on. BUT, first let me mention, it would only trip the 15amp when in St or EC modes and attempting to get above 83 degrees. In SL it wouldn't trip. This leads me to believe something else is wrong and it's drawing a lot of juice when trying to heat. So I plugged into a larger breaker and it stayed on and running all night in the St mode.... Yay right? NOPE, it ran all night long without tripping but still hasn't reached above 83 degrees. That stiff ground wire you are talking about, well, I have two of them and that is an excellent idea to replace as they make the panel hard to access so I'm going to change those out today. I think after this, if I continue to have issues with it getting above 83 degrees, and I suspect I will, I'm goiing to change either the sensors or the entire board or both. Watched another youtube vid here and they said if the board is more than 5 years old, you may want to replace anyway as they are prone to issues after awhile. Here is that video. Again, hope this helps us folks with these units. I recently retired from the Navy after 31 years and not wanting to spend a fortune on a new tub since this one has always been great for my wife and I. Thx again and I'll keep ya'll updated as I learn more. Please post any thoughts/ideas from what I mentioned above or if ya'll had any of these issues. Here's that vid: th-cam.com/video/2FgnEVc78N0/w-d-xo.html

    I have the exact tub. It has worked fine for 11 years. Recently moved and set it up and now the jets do not come on. Do you suppose I need to do all this to get it to work or could it be something simpler? Perhaps a relay or something? What are your thoughts? Thanks in advance.

    • @markwoodringdvm5653
      @markwoodringdvm5653 ปีที่แล้ว

      I assume the pump is not coming on, and thus not the jets. check for loose wires due to the move, and jump power to the motor to make sure it runs. if so, its in the control board.... had to replace mine over the years. if motor doesnt run, even when jumped, then thats the problem

    • @y2kbmet
      @y2kbmet ปีที่แล้ว

      @@markwoodringdvm5653 Thanks for getting back! Got 'er fixed yesterday. I heard the relay kicking in and the motor attempting to run b/c it was getting hot and vibrating but not spinning. The pump was frozen up. Probably because the incoming line on top had been dripping on it and it sat since March. Had just enough space between the pump and the motor to put needle nose vise grip in there and break it loose. Took me quite a few times before it finally started spinning. Put a little teflon on that top piece of PVC and hoping all else is working. Fingers crossed. Thx again Mark!

    • @markwoodringdvm5653

      I started with the 20 x 20 timber frame and it was set up 2 ft off the ground, so that the barrels could be rolled under the frame and attached. once the floor was in place, a crane truck lifted it into the water at my home on the canal. walls were added while it was floating. there is no reference to "level" when building on the water, all was done to make it as square as possible, as it progressed. it is too heavy to lift via crane once completed.
