    The thing about the historical Jesus is, is that by Ignatius' time Christians would go tell sceptics to look in the archives for the Acts of Pilate (official, not the Gospel of Nicodemus). They would look and would not find the Jesus of Christianity or even a mundane Jesus resembling him within them. And they would go back and tell Christians that they could not find Jesus in the archives, so why should they put their faith in him since he in their minds never existed! And Ignatius wrote of this in one of his letters --- the letter to the Magnesians, I think.
    EDIT: It's in _Tralles,_ chapter 10.

      it is quite amazing, but it’s appealing if you don’t know better. Just believe in what’s being told to you, that a man died on a cross for your sins, and you have eternal life and salvation. Much easier to preach that than the fact that you’re accountable for everything.

For God will bring every work into judgement, with every secret thing, whether it be good or whether it be evil.”
      Jesus said, in the Gospel of Mark, “Except your righteousness exceed the righteousness of the scribes and the Pharisees, ye shall by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.” I want to know how your righteousness will be better than that of a Jewish scholar when you don’t even keep the commandments and attach partners to God, like what you have done with the Trinity.

    • @AlifLamMiim
      @AlifLamMiim 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@seekthetruthandthetruthwil2388 When did Jesus say that salvation is a free gift. That is a completely false statement. There are many references I can give from the Bible where people were forgiven before Jesus existed.
      Obviously you will not be able to follow all the commandments for all your life. That’s not the point. The point is so that when you break a commandment, you repent with sincerity, and the mercy of Allah is to accept that repentance and forgive. The true reason you don’t want to follow the laws is laziness and cowardice. It’s in the nature of man to throw the burden of his fault onto someone else, which is what you have done to Jesus, and following the commandments of God and being responsible for your actions is something nobody wants to do. Jesus didn’t atone for your sins, your atoning for yours. That has been the law of God since the beginning and God does not change one of the cores of His law, and that’s in your Bible. God doesn’t change, and that’s in your Bible. However, I don’t want to debate with another crusader, so may Allah guide you and protect you from the punishment of the Fire.

The sources Islam uses to teach about Jesus are far less accurate than the Bibles. If you want to know the historic Jesus- you study the NT, writings of early church fathers, etc. You'd never go to the Quran cause we know it just copies from gnostic writings.

    In my Humble opinion which seems to go against Christian Apologia is. That since Paul was told to go and preach to the Gentiles He came up with a crafty scheme to get Non Jews to comply with believing in the One God, by molding Judaism and it's Tenet's as best he could to fit the Platonist beliefs of the Romans. Using Judaic terminologies while giving them Roman meanings, so they can be comfortable with the change. Maybe he thought that people would come around to understanding these terms eventually in a JEWISH way rather anthropomorphizing God as the Pagan Romans and Christians have done all these years.
    God knows best.

    • @Toronado2

      @Jesus Christ Is Lord
      You say quote;
      "That is not a scheme 🤣🤣🤣. Paul is send by the Risen Christ to the gentiles"
      Do YOU KNOW that Jesus said that He will be LEAVING and the rest of what he wanted to teach was the RESPONSIBILITY of the SPIRIT of TRUTH? The Spirit of Truth was To relay ALL TRUTH after Jesus. Not that Jesus was going to APPEAR to other people so that they can now WRITE another GOSPEL!
      Then Paul Himself said;
      2Co 12:16 But be it so, I did not burden you: nevertheless, being crafty, I caught you with guile.
      IF that is NOT a SCHEME then what would YOU call it?

    • @Toronado2
      @Toronado2 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Jesus Christ Is Lord
      Now Paul WAS a JEW. So you would expect him to Receive The Spirit OF Truth, WOULD you NOT? If someone tell you that Jesus appeared to them and had some friends to collaborate that "APPEARANCE" STORY and told you ALL that Jesus had told him, Would you then take his word as Gospel? At that TIME! OR would you expect the Spirit of TRUTH to teach you ALL that Jesus could NOT?
      Just answer the question.

    • @moosa86

      Once again, your "humble opinion" is spreading ignorance and inflaming Christians against Muslims. Don't speak about their scripture until you have fully committed to studying it. You keep on with your un-informed understanding of John 14:16. 🤦‍♂
      Learn and abide by what's in the Quran first before you pretend to represent it.
      Q29:46
      "Do not argue with the People of the Book unless gracefully, except with those of them who act wrongfully. And say, “We believe in what has been revealed to us and what was revealed to you. Our God and your God is ˹only˺ One. And to Him we ˹fully˺ submit.”
      ----------------------------------
      Q3:3
      "He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel"
      "The Gospel" is the New Testament. Another Quranic verse about affirming the New Testament:
      Q5:68
      "Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “O People of the Book! You have nothing to stand on unless you observe the Torah, the Gospel, and what has been revealed to you from your Lord.” And your Lord’s revelation to you ˹O Prophet˺ will only cause many of them to increase in wickedness and disbelief. So do not grieve for the people who disbelieve."
      ----------------------------------------
      John 14:16 is about The Holy Spirit which is also mentioned in the Quran...
      Q2:87
      "Indeed, We gave Moses the Book and sent after him successive messengers. And We gave Jesus, son of Mary, clear proofs and supported him with THE HOLY SPIRIT. Why is it that every time a messenger comes to you ˹Israelites˺ with something you do not like, you become arrogant, rejecting some and killing others?"

    • @Toronado2
      @Toronado2 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

       @Mehdi Aghamoosa
      Since you decided to champion the Christian Faith AGAIN, let's see you answer.
      Jhn 16:12 I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.
      Jhn 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
      So WHERE did Paul get His information from? Did he get from the Spirit of Truth? Absolutely NOT He got supposedly from Jesus. And we KNOW that Jesus ministry was done. He didn't go around appearing to anybody not even the Disciples. So we know that Paul was LYING because He admitted it.
      2Co 12:16 But be it so, I did not burden you: nevertheless, being crafty, I caught you with guile.

    I'm sorry but indicating how many actual followers Jesus had in Jerusalem, does not, in itself, indicate how many in Israel had actually heard of him. That also fails to take into consideration the fact that all the trade routes, camel caravans etc., passed directly through the towns where he taught. Word of his teachings, while not necessarily translating into followership, spread far and wide.
    His following was clearly considered to be significant enough on the part of the Jewish priesthood to be viewed as a threat. Otherwise, why kill him?
    What's not in the Bible, is any record of his travels prior to his public ministry. But we have a new version of his life and teachings in The Urantia Book, and it chronicles him going all over the place, including spending 6 months in Roman, meeting with the various religious leaders there. He primed them to be receptive to Peter and Paul when they should arrive 10 years later. But at that time, he was known as the Scribe of Damascus.

    Had this conversation taken place in the streets of Islamabad, dale's head would've come flying of before he could utter the word 'gay' - and we don't mean "cheerful'.
    In the West - he's protected, but listen to him engage - a devout Muslim like Paul... That strikes me as somewhat counterproductive to Dale's interests.
    Dale Martin is openly gay, so he’s not conservative on what the Bible teaches, for sure, and strikes me as one of these postmodern Jesus Seminar people who uses religious words, but is a naturalist who believes in a liberal Jesus as a nice idea, but doesn’t believe in the conservative historical Jesus at all. He seems to be more like these John Dominic Crossan / Marcus Borg types. I looked at some of his publications, and I think it’s a situation where the liberal sexual practices he advocates constrain his theological and historical views. Sort of like John Dominic Crossan’s atheism and pluralism and political liberalism constrain his historical work.
    Still though, he's a smart guy and in a debate he addresses the evidence, so it’s good to hear another voice, but let's also hear out some God fearing men, NT Wright, Oxford, Peter Williams, Cambridge and James White, one of our finest apologists in the US.
    Kind regards Kim

      "The Bible teaches" is a problematic statement, but the Bible contains nothing about homoxesuality. The concept did not exist until it was discovered in the late 19th cent. Protestant Christians came to think that the Bible condemned it since mid 20th cent. Prior, the issue was so-do-my which included behaviour between men and women. If you read carefully, references to secs between males in the NT do not describe homoxesuality.

    There's lots of verses in the New Testaments saying Jesus is God and referring to the Trinity in the Old Testament. Also Jesus rose from the dead on the third day after being crucified for all who believe on Him for the forgiveness of their sins, proving He is Christ. The early church was fighting heresy from the start that was one reason for council of nicea. Paul was highly educated and the Holy Spirit inspired the writtings of the Gospels and Epistles. Also people wrote down dictation straight from some of the Apostles mouths. Also who says they weren't educated didn't the synagogues educate Jewish youth? Just somethings to think about. The Bible is the truth, God is trustworthy. Btw why would Christians betray God by agreeing to worship false god's or ceasar? Ofcourse they would not stand ofcousre they would let people no idols are just pieces of wood!

    After she gave birth to Jesus , she went back to her village, God commanded her not to speak to her people but
    Baby jesus spoke . He told them he's a prophet of God and The Messiah.
    As Jesus was older he spread the message of God . Jesus was raised to heaven before being captured by the Romans , Another man who had similar appearances to Jesus was caught and was tortured . (1) *Give back to Caesar the things of Caesar, and to God the things of God*
    (2) *Whoever hits you on the cheek, offer him the other also; and whoever takes away your cloak, do not withhold your tunic from him either.*

      1: Ceasar is the earthly ruler. Give the emperor of this world the things that are his i.e the worldy things (hylic body) that is owed to him.
      2: Give God what is his aka probably means the demiurge and therefor the soulish escence.
      In the gospel of Thomas the Living Jesus gives a number 3: And give mine which is mine. The Living Jesus seems to equate himself higer than God/the demiurge. To Christ must then belong the Spirit.
      *They showed Jesus a gold coin and said to him, "Caesar's agents are exacting taxes from us." He said to them, "Give unto Caesar the things that are Caesar's, give unto god the things that are god's, and give unto me that which is mine."

      The gospels are in no way to subjagate the masses. It is a way out of the hylic world system where Christians actually don't belong. That's why esoteric Christianity is not always understood and a different school of thought than contemporary judaism and islam. If you don't understand the things that are written and WHY they are written doesn't mean the whole thing is a sham. We just have to do a better job in finding out what they actually represent.

But when you consider the whole picture taking into account the context when events were unfolding two thousand years ago where pagan roman invaders wanted to rule Palestine and suppress the rebellious Jews (in today's terms independence movement of the Jewish people) the things get little different. The fact that the Language used is that of invaders and not the mother tongue of Jesus is just another contesting point.

      First, Jesus asked the disciples what others said about Him. They responded easily enough, with a slew of speculations. But then He turned the tables. “Who do you say I am?” What the world thought didn’t matter anymore. The mentality of the crowd was IRRELEVANT.
      Now, it was time for the disciples to claim Jesus’ identity for themselves. “Simon Peter answered, ‘You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God’” (Matthew 16:16).

    Dale says that it takes 300 years to formulate Trinitarian theology but that isn't true. Pope Clement died in AD99 and he mentions the trinity in his first Epistle 46:6. This is documentary proof that "Father, Son and Holy Spirit" was already orthodox Christianity with 100 years of Jesus. Dale should know this; he is not the expert that Blogging Theology suggests.

    The core Christian doctrines were written and distributed before the Quran . The Quran AFFIRMED those Scriptures (Sura 5:47) therefore those core doctrines . In other words , by using our Scriptures to judge from, we reject Islam and Muhammad is a false prophet. Islam debunks itself once again.
