This dudes biggest problem is going to be assertiveness. If you can't recognize toxic and you don't shut it down immediately/ walk away, you're going to get walked all over by narcissists. Sad reality of life.
To the caller: remember that life is full of ups and downs, and while managing heartbreak can be challenging, it's important to keep perspective and know that money is like water in a glass and can be replenished. Keep pushing forward, stay strong, and keep fighting through the tough times.
It could be worse. He could be $50k in debt. Imagine having to heal plus the pressure of debt. I wish him well.

Because if you keep your eyes on the Lord He will direct your path. Spending time with God allows you to develop something call discernment and wisdom. Therefore not finding ourselves in certain situations. 😊
Still getting over a relationship it’s probably safe to say now was abusive - when John said he wanted to let the guy know he’s not broken, I suddenly started crying a lot. I think that was so kind of him to say, and honestly, I needed to hear that too and appreciate he’d know to say that to someone

Take vitamins, eat a high protein diet, lift weights, ride bike, listen to really good music, hang out with friends, don't drink, don't do drugs, work, anything to distract your mind and to let it unwind.... EFT is great and free. Give her the gift of your absence and never ever talk to her again. In time,,,, find a humble quiet sweet girl and avoid the toxic narcissistic ones. Good luck. Just be happy you didn't marry her...
All great advice until the 'find a sweet,humble girl' That is a needle in a haystack. Don't even waste time on that...if you focus on yourself, THEY will find you but always remind yourself, they wait at the finish line, not racing the marathon with you.
In my 20s I had a toxic girlfriend. It changes you forever.
I was lucky I didn't have a lot of money to lose thankfully. I'm 52 and doing well.
Nothing is more peaceful than money in the bank and no debt.
Retail therapy is real. Many people fall into it as a coping mechanism. He's young and has learned some valuable lessons that will play out as a better life going forward.
See it’s not only the women who are in an abusive relationships a lot of men are too. My prayers go out to him for leaving because most don’t make it out.

Great call. It takes a while to rebuild trust in one's self after going through an abusive situation... I remember my therapist had me write down all the things I was right about. Also, to look into the warning signs I saw, but ignored about the abuser. And, to look at my part of the relationship. It gave me back control over my life. (Rather than being a victim where things just randomly happened totally out of my control)... Once I realized I saw signs, and have learned more signs, I was able to move forward without much worrying of ever being in a similar situation.
Kiddo, you learnt the hard way. You will start again and you will know to stay away from toxic relationships. It is better to happen sooner than later. You are strong, young and you will be successful. 🤗 Much love. 💖

He does tend to overindulge in the mental health counseling, putting words in caller's mouths about how they are terrified, blah blah blah. Definitely seems out of place sometimes. But yeah, callers like this, where they are just obviously and audibly hurting, is really where he shines.

I think men should be taught that women are not goddesses and should not be put on pedestals. They are humans, like men. They have the same weakness of character, propensity to evil and ability to do wrong and also to do right. Be respectful to yourself and leave before it turns to abuse. Women can and do abuse far more often than we ever will hear. It's never ok.

I was in his place and came back stronger and wiser. Go to the gym, lift heavy stuff, get that Beast out. Biggest thing to do is NEVER make the same mistake twice. Women are renters in your life, not owners.Modern therapy is for victims to find someone willing to give them excuses, I would advise against that. Talk to friends about anything else BUT that woman and it will resolve.
