  • You might be shocked to find out some of the most delicious Asian food can be found in Vancouver.
    Most of these spots are in Richmond where you almost can't go wrong with anything you pick.
    These are a few places we stopped by to get that includes:
    * Hot Pot
    * Boba (bubble tea)
    * Shaved Ice/Snow
    * Dim Sum
    * BBQ
    * Noodle Soup
    * Hainan Chicken
    Obviously we couldn't try them all so these were just a handful of places that we thoroughly enjoyed.
    Please let us know which ones we missed!

    Vancouver and Richmond dim sum really has changed. There used to be carts wheeled through the restaurant and you could pick what you wanted. In the late 80’s early 90’s dim sum was $0.99 per dish. As you know, the price only got steeper and cart service disappeared.

    To be fair, Dynasty Seafood Restaurant is one of the more expensive dim sum locations. There are many other places that have the same quality, if not higher, at a more affordable price point. Same with the Dollar Shop; there are places where you can get all you can eat hot pot for under $35 Canadian.

    What I wanted to eat the most though, was DanDan noodles. I found a restaurant called DanDan noodle. But it felt like I was just eating spicy ramen. The best DanDan I have ever had was working at WokBox in Victoria before they closed down. But that was more so a fast food place similar to Noodle Box. They had the best Pad Thai as well.

    Great vlog in Vancouver, BC. Thanks for putting the address of the restaurants. Have both of you tried Taste of Monterey Park, if not give it a try. Enjoy.

      Thanks for watching Nels!
      We actually use to go there a lot with our family when it was called New Lucky! It’s the same owner just under a different name now?

    Highly recommend Chinatown BBQ as well! I love the master but Chinatown BBQ has better gai lan imo and salted duck eggs. It's also very cute.

    Should try ChoCho hotpot - it’s Dollarshop’s sister restaurant that offers all you can eat. Resos are a must and are booked up fast

    It’s so weird seeing dim sum spots that don’t use the carts. It’s not just Canada either, some US cities also don’t use carts and we kinda judge hard cause we feel like the carts are part of the experience 😂 but you’re right, some places might not have the real estate

      Seriously! Carts add to the fun and excitement (sometimes frustration if you're seated in a bad spot 😂)

      In Seattle, your US neighbor 2 hours south of you, we used to use food carts for dim sum before the Pandemic. After the Pandemic that stopped for Covid reasons. Surprised they never brought it back...

    Yaohan food fare is NOT good and fairly pricey compared to Richmond Pub Market, T & T or Pricesmart. That said, I do live in Richmond and indeed the food is good but the prices are bad! Very bad as in expensive!
