The GE EOL lamp has some seriously small
electrode cathodes, compared to most GE
    fluorescent tubes.

You turn the bulbs 90 degrees, not 45.
The drop-ceiling fixtures are much more "fun" to do, with the weird angles you got to insert the bulbs to get past the lens's frame.

mainly for preheat light like this you need a preheat ballast, starter holder, starter, lamp, and lampholders. tell me what kind of bulb you are using and i will tell you the specific ballast you would need to get. a preheat ballast has 2 wires coming out of it which can be found on the internet orhome depot, starter at home depot or internet, starter holder on internet, lampholders at home depot.

I don't know why, but I've always loved the sound of those starters. I do not, however, like the icky, cold light of those 5000 K lamps.

I like your new dual lamp fixture! It's awesome and brighter than the circline adapter fixture :)

Yes, that's true, but we have a wonky 3-bulb system, and the ballast channel is in the middle.

I think I've seen a video on TH-cam of a resettable starter that would shut down if it detected that the tube was refusing to start. I assume if you were using your PulseStarter solid state starter the tube simply wouldn't start at all.

I think it would just make the ends glow and then it would blink once and then nothing else would happen.

Being a electrician as I am forever that's is a twin 2ft fluorescent light fitting with one 36w- 40w choke ballast and just two 18w-20w ballast choke for each of the 2ft 20w t12 fluorescents tubes the fitting two 4--22w 110-130-220-240v in series fs2 fluorescents starters lamps switches.and for other fluorescents tubes replacements in general Dieselducy and takes two 2ft 18w t8 fluorescents tubes and always used the fs2 4-6-8-15-18-20-22w 110-130-220-240v fluorescents lamps starters in series instead that's from a lot of us electricians around all over the world 🌎 bye rocking on as normal with many thanks and cheers for now till next time and have a good life over in your country from alots of us here in the UK via great Britain in England London hometown in Surrey where I from and everyone and everybody think you beaty Mr cool 😎 guy and lots of us in my country just love watching all of your fluorescents lighting videos on TH-cam channel live information internet access system waves

Although it is common for multi lamp European 2 foot F20T12 fixtures to use a pair of 2 F20T12 fluorescent tubes in series off a single 220v-240v F40T12 choke ballast, it is rarely the case here in North America, which is where this video was filmed. In most cases, since this fixture uses a 120v mains supply, it is most likely to have 2 separate choke ballasts for each F20T12 tube because the whole fixture runs more efficiently with the 2 separate 120v chokes compared to a single tube F40T12 preheat ballast running both F20T12 tubes in series because with such ballasts, the whole fixture becomes less efficient because extra power is used to power a 120v F40T12 preheat ballast’s step up transformer that is required to provide the voltage to run 2 F20T12 tubes in series since a 120v mains supply alone is not high enough to run 2 F20T12 tubes in series if a choke ballast is being used. In addition, you can also tell if an EOL fluorescent tube is being used in a 2 lamp series circuit if you see the good tube slightly flickering as the EOL tube flashes. Since the good tube is not flickering along with the flashing EOL tube, both tubes in this fixture are not wired in series with each other on one ballast.
