As a stay at home mom…. I don’t understand these! Why are they advocating for this lifestyle. I know it’s not for everyone, but acting like they are better than others is just something else. It works for me and my family but I’m not sure it will work for my friend. Because we all have different personalities and lifestyles.
I think a housewife is different from a tradwife: A housewife is a woman who is responsible and chooses a life that fits her best of working from home to take care of the house. It's not an easy option to take considering today's economy, and I have mad respect for any woman who is ready to work at her home and focus on her husband and children Meanwhile, a tradwife is someone who thinks they are superior to you, a better mother, a better woman, and a better wife and tries to push her life at you while also acting like a victim for not wanting to work a paying job. She treats anyone who decides to work a paying job like someone that is less than her, which, as someone with a working mom who puts her heart and soul into raising me and my brother. I hold no respect to someone like her, and I find her disgusting, especially when she uses religion to support her ideas, I don't know much about the bible, but as a Muslim I hate so much when they say "Allah says you should work from home" meanwhile God says in the quran that a woman is free to work and if she does work then all the money she makes is hers and hers alone, and any money she spends on her family is a good deed that could land her in heaven so there point makes absolutely no sense

As a Christian mom who works, this is exactly the vibe I get from tradwife videos, and I just want to say thank you for validating what has been depressing me for quite some time. So many of my old friends act like this on social media and I don't post much because I feel less-than or unworthy.

Growing up homeschooled, whenever we went to any event with other homeschooled families, all the mothers would constantly be trying to outdo the rest by saying how much they "have to" slave away in the home. One would say they grind their own wheat, one would say they only use a wood stove because a gas stove is for lazy people (true story), one would say they make their own clothes. Meanwhile, my family lives in the middle of town (most of them lived in the middle nowhere in the woods), we watched youtube all the time, did not make our own bread, not make our own clothes, and my family told me as woman I could do whatever I wanted to in life and did not need to be confined to being a wife and mother. Needless to say, we we're not popular among the other homeschool families.
As a fellow homeschooled kid I can guarantee they're are all telling lies about the work they do and chances are the spend most of their day in bed watching TV while their kids do the house work 😂

Being a housewife is a lot easier now than it was back then. That being said, I don't like the romantization of anything that took place in the 1900s because all the war, discrimination, drugs, childlabor, etc that took place. It was anything but beautiful. Women were overworked to the bone and had to raise children while operating factory jobs (in which they were paid significantly low) while their husband's were getting their arms and legs blown off during war. Drugs skyrocketed and was even promoted as something relaxing which destroyed the mental and physical health of a lot of people. Then the whole "psudeo traditional household" these women like to romanticize was in fact a capitalistic ploy to get women to buy into consumerism (household "wifey" products) as well as sell the idea to men, who just returned from the horror of war, that a beautiful wife will be waiting for them as a "wife should" at home. Because of this, it convince said war torn men that it only makes sense for women to go back home and "make cookies" while their own role is to slave away for a coorpation that doesn't care about them rather then give any sense of tangible solace to the men who actually did risk their lives for the country. And that doesn't even begin to scratch the surface of all the discrimination that occurred which stole the lives of many people for no reason. But sure, 1900s traditional life was beautiful.
People like this tend to ignore their emotions in favor of being "perfect wives" , in reality no matter how much of a good and traditional wife you are : chances are youre getting beat to a pulp.

Ive come to realize my sister in law basically is a trad wife at this point and the sad thing is is that none of them realize the issue with it... like i dont think she (my sister in law) realizes she has a life of her own and she doesnt need to be a constant slave to whatever her husband wants. @@xXEGPXx I would like to point out that trad wives do tend to follow this "ideal" that there was historically a point in time where it was traditional for women to not leave the house and completely obey their husbands. This is only accurate in the minds of modern "traditionalists". Women historically have always gone out and had to do things alone because before industrialization a lot of "domestic" labor wasn't easy to do alone or inside. So things like churning butter, subsistence farming, running markets for small goods/crafts, washing cloths and a whole bunch of other jobs were ran by women who all interacted with each other outside of their husbands watch. The idea of the public/private sector and this level of isolation for housewives wasn't common for the vast majority of history even in "traditional" societies.
Tradwives have a lot of time to trollop around the neighborhood while neglectful husband spends lunch with a mistress. Meanwhile these influencers have nannies and maid services.

Being a housewife is a lot easier now than it was back then. That being said, I don't like the romantization of anything that took place in the 1900s because all the war, discrimination, drugs, childlabor, etc that took place. It was anything but beautiful.
Women were overworked to the bone and had to raise children while operating factory jobs (in which they were paid significantly low) while their husband's were getting their arms and legs blown off during war.
Drugs skyrocketed and was even promoted as something relaxing which destroyed the mental and physical health of a lot of people.
Then the whole "psudeo traditional household" these women like to romanticize was in fact a capitalistic ploy to get women to buy into consumerism (household "wifey" products) as well as sell the idea to men, who just returned from the horror of war, that a beautiful wife will be waiting for them as a "wife should" at home.
Because of this, it convince said war torn men that it only makes sense for women to go back home and "make cookies" while their own role is to slave away for a coorpation that doesn't care about them rather then give any sense of tangible solace to the men who actually did risk their lives for the country. And that doesn't even begin to scratch the surface of all the discrimination that occurred which stole the lives of many people for no reason.
But sure, 1900s traditional life was beautiful.

Women historically have always gone out and had to do things alone because before industrialization a lot of "domestic" labor wasn't easy to do alone or inside. So things like churning butter, subsistence farming, running markets for small goods/crafts, washing cloths and a whole bunch of other jobs were ran by women who all interacted with each other outside of their husbands watch. The idea of the public/private sector and this level of isolation for housewives wasn't common for the vast majority of history even in "traditional" societies.
Tradwives have a lot of time to trollop around the neighborhood while neglectful husband spends lunch with a mistress. Meanwhile these influencers have nannies and maid services.
