EXCELLENT explanation. Just got my wife into MTB and have been watching tons of videos on body position / braking in an effort to find the best explanation and yours are so thorough, yet understandable. Thank you!

"Practice these exercises on every trail that is easy for you." That is huge! It makes a lot of sense that you can only work on a new skill if you are able to just focus on that one thing at a time, which would have to be on an easy trail that doesn't take brain power to ride over. I just found your channel and am loving every video I've seen. These tutorials are going to help me be a better rider and a better coach for the junior high riders I coach through NICA (in USA). I really appreciate your explanations of why different techniques work or not.

I thought this was the dumbest the tutorial for me to watch. Not because of the content. I think the contest was done perfectly. You did an amazing job at describing everything. I had been Mountain Biking for 3 years now and I figured I already knew everything about braking. Geez, braking is pretty much is all I do when I go down Boy was I wrong! I did this lesson hours before one of the most intense mountain bike ride I have ever done in my life ( I had no idea it was going to be intense). As silly as the lesson seemed to me at the time, and the looks I got from people watching me pushing my bike back and forth on one wheel in the dirt, I felt that I was just looking silly. I was going through massive rock gardens (which I mentioned to my friend this is only for intense riders(little did I know I was going to be riding through these rock gardens)), I was hitting burms, and jumping off of small features. I've always been riding my mountain bike as if I was along for the ride and holding on to dear life. I did the hardest trail I've ever done in my life, and I crushed it! I was in control of my bike the whole way down. It was the best mountain bike experience I have ever had. Thank you for this lesson! Thank you for breaking everything down so easily to digest and make automatic when I go out to ride. Thank you for giving me the knowledge to have the best ride I have ever had in my life. I haven't been able to stop smiling from crushing it on the trail yesterday.

Dear Roxy, first of all I want to say that you make amazing videos. They are very detailed yet short, simple and on point. I came across your channel "by accident" and it was one of the greatest accidents that ever happened to me 😅 I am myself a freediving instructor and it pleased me to see that's there are other coaches in other sports sharing same approach and are putting skills, feelings and safety before the performance because performance is an inevitable side effect of these three 😊 This video is the only one from what I've watched on this topic which really explained brake modulation in the way I understood it. I would like to share one drill which helped me a lot. I live on an elevated floor and I have to carry my bike downstairs each time when I want to go riding.
