I'm so glad Matt Morgan was with Noel for the web-chat. They have a brilliant chemistry and that was seriously one of the funniest things I've watched in ages. Great fun ! If noel ever retires from music, He would have a great future in comedy / talk shows venues. I'd definitely pay to see "Noel Gallagher's: The Northerner point of view" Aka what a laugh ^^
Well it’s 2021, nearly 2023 and Noel last live ‘up North’ in about 1995 at the latest, born 1967, so 28, he’ll be 55 in May 2022 (exactly 10 years older than me), so that’s half his life living in the South, hated living in the North and couldn’t wait to get out. So I don’t think he’d use his Northern upbringing as a vehicle for a creative purpose, unless in an ironic humouress way, which he always does generally from what I’ve seen and heard. Actually met 3 off Oasis 2, (Bonehead and White) when they were huge late 90’s and Noel the week they broke up, at my hometown teams football stadium when City were playing us (only 20-30 mins away) and Noel was the least ‘Northern’, but also the hardest to start a conversation with. But when I showed I wasn’t a wanker, but a football fan that happened to enjoy his music, he opened up, until a girl who fit the former description saw him and screamed and he said ‘sorry mate’ and jogged off into the Directors Entrance. He is exactly like he says he is with fans with me and the bitch, in that he’s not into drama, just interesting conversation, and as City hadn’t yet won the league, but we’re serious contenders, I asked him about his thoughts and as my team had done similar but for a short period 15-20 years earlier, he was interested in that, so we had a bond there. No chance for music talk cause half the people in the world are below average intelligence and if you’ve ever met one, you know how annoying, emotional and thoroughly annoying they can be (so like Noel, I stay out of their way, including my brother, but I don’t have access to not even close to the interesting people, which is actually a better metric than intelligence, but they overlap almost perfectly in my experience. Bonehead was very middle class, polite but not all that interesting, and the other guy, I can’t even remember what he did (drummer or bassist) and I can understand when they left Noel saying it’s hardly John & George* leaving the Beatles. Forgettable. Kudos to Noel for sticking around with these people for as long as he did…but Gem probably helped…a lot, and him getting over the fear of being the lead singer (even though Oasis’s biggest and most well known song is a Noel song).
