Noel is a f’ing legend! Cracks me up and I could listen to his stories for hours. Dude is just as genuine and rock n’ roll as there is. Tells his story straight up and “here I am” as they come. Thank you Gibson, this was an awesome episode!!
Only 27 minutes into this so far, but I’m convinced this must be the greatest thing that’s ever been on YT. This interview and the recent episode where NG was the guest on That Pedal Show are a goldmine for fans of Noel and his former group.
I agree. I didn’t think this could be as good as the one he did for that Pedal Show, but it was great. He is a great interviewer storyteller; and while the TPS one was more about his guitars, this was about his creative process which was equally intersting. I’ve really grown to respect him and Oasis. It shows if you really have a passion for something you can make it a career.
You hit the nail on the head mate started playing guitar a year ago and thought I'll just learn a couple of oasis songs when played properly they are tough as hell. He's a lot better than he makes out he's a genius ❤
Noel is truly my favorite songwriter of all time. He has an uncanny ability to not only write the best songs but the ones I need to hear to keep my chin up. Thanks Chief!
What a guy he is. Entertaining bloke - sure of himself, but there is a humbleness to him also. Amazing, tremendous songwriter(still is) and a little bit of a riffmeister, too. I think the world is coming around to realize the genius and timelessness in the songs Oasis made, absolute evergreens, and Noel is now - as the title says - an icon.
His songs are typical of the bilge they came out of Manchester at this time, absolutely dreadful, but I could watch his interviews all day, hilarious and honest bloke
Noel always seems to have some amazing stories that you've never heard before. The Johnny Marr one is like something from a movie! No wonder he is a great songwriter.
i am only 20 mins in and Noel has yet again proven himself to be the best interview in rock for the 30th year in a row. "not gettin no fit birds, mate" What an absolute beauty
One of the best interviews by Noel. Details of the past we never heard before supported by a crystal clear retrospective of the events made by him in his 50s. We couldn't ask for more. Definiterly he's telling everyone that OASIS is the thing that should stay in that spot, no reunions, no comebacks. Leave it where it is and enjoy the recorded legacy.
I can’t believe people actually say he’s overrated. He definitely deserves his accolades and a lot of respect. He got me back info music for the first time ever at school and it was a big turning point in my life
Steve Jones and Johnny Marr are some pretty amazing influences. The Smiths were brilliant. Great interview... I love listening to Noel. The story about not understanding active pickups, never playing the guitar standing up, etc... I also love how he is humble in his story telling.
I'm not a massive fan of Noel's solo stuff, nor was I a massive fan of Oasis either. But I could literally sit and listen to Noel talk about *any subject* all day, and the only way that would get better is if Liam was in the conversation also. Both of those lads are so utterly engaging you could sit in the pub with them, order up a couple of pints and say "Go", and just let them talk at you until closing time and not get bored. Noel knows his place in British music history, both his and Oasis are guaranteed. And quite rightly. He's right, nobody will ever do again what Oasis did. No band will ever grab the times, make them their own and drag the whole country along with them the way Oasis did it. They united us all in rooting for them, and cheering them on. They were the working class finally getting to win at the game.
Agree with you about Noel. But his brother just boils my piss, he is such an obnoxious asshole. NG says things with a wink and a nod, LG not so much... 😊
Indeed, this couldn’t happen again, because attention is permanently comminuted by mobile devices. The revolution will not be televised because few people watch TV any more. Instead, the revolution will be on social media platforms.

Amazing interview! I could listen to Noel for hours, he’s a true storyteller. I hope he’d consider to use his demo as a new single, that would be a banger!
Such a humble guy. In 1997 I was in a music equipment store in birmingham and walked into a demo room by mistake. I said sorry to a guy who sat at a mixing console in front of me and in the corner of my vision was noel, he sat on a amp arched over a white electric guitar with price tags handing off it. I turned to noel and said, sorry, I didnt know there was someone in here. Noel said, its ok come in. I said oh I dont want to disturb you, and i turned round to walk out. I heard noel say, do us a favour pal, close the door behind ya, nice one. I remember him smiling as he spoke, and that he appeared to be really small. Nice guy.
I love oasis and the high flying bird's I grew up with oasis from when they first came out. I love Noel people think he's arrogant but it's a very strong self belief and he's proved his incredible talent time and time again he's an incredible song writer and deserves every bit of praise he gets, oasis spoke for a generation and they were the biggest rock n roll band in the world and you can never take that away from him. His interviews are just awesome he doesn't mince his word's and says it like it is, I think he's easily one of the greatest song writers in the world. ❤❤
Man that was a GREAT interview. Freaking legend right there. I'm not even the biggest Oasis fan but the nuggets of wisdom dropped in this interview right up till the last sentence are gold!! Noel's the real deal

It’s not often you get totally surprised in an NG interview. I’ve spent endless hours of my life watching them. But, that early demo ‘Gotta have fun’ is a hidden gem I’ve never heard. Noel is an Icon, a godlike genius. Thank you for this wonderful hour 💛
Inspiration Noel. When i was lost and lonely, I specifically learnt "Dont look back in anger " as her soul slides away, , and the song helped me through a dark period. When I play it now the audience always listens, so Thank you Noel, Luv NGHFB 🤘✌️🇦🇺
British artists are such good storytellers. This and Tony Iommi's interview are my absolute favorite gibson icon videos, and I loved all of them btw. They just have such a fascinating way of telling stories that you admire them maybe a tad bit more than others.
I can't tell you how much this man means to me musically. I would go to the book store in Texas and listen to Definitely Maybe at a listening station all fucking day long. Then I got tickets to their first U.S. tour in Dallas and it blew me away. After that I learned guitar and learned how to play Talk Tonight. My first song I ever learned all the way through singing and playing. Recorded it on a shitty little tape recorder with one Radio Shack microphone. Saw them on the Moring Glory tour and learned all those songs as well. Met one of my best mates that year and the first song we played together the night we met was Don't Look Back in Anger. Let's just say I've been a fan since the beginning in 1994. I'm 51 now.
Dont think so.The Stones Roses got back together and they split up again a few years after.Too many bad memories that got Oasis split up in the first place. With Gallaghers brothers not speaking for years and both getting success of their own a reform is not happening.

@@steve10I’m much like you in that sense. We both made it though. Hope you’re doing well still, take care
@@SpiritOfMontgomery one day at a time bud , take care 👍
Noel is a f’ing legend! Cracks me up and I could listen to his stories for hours. Dude is just as genuine and rock n’ roll as there is. Tells his story straight up and “here I am” as they come. Thank you Gibson, this was an awesome episode!!
I fully agree! I was about to say something along these lines, lol.
He's easy to knock as an arrogant prick, but you can't deny his talent. xx
@@mikemccaine4229
Arrogant or simply brutally honest ???
Huge difference!!!
Big statement, respect, did you only download TH-cam this week?
“His former group” 😂
Could listen all day.
You hit the nail on the head mate started playing guitar a year ago and thought I'll just learn a couple of oasis songs when played properly they are tough as hell. He's a lot better than he makes out he's a genius ❤
Noel is a great communicator. He tells his story in a very graphic and personal way.
Noel is the real deal. One of the last of the greatest. An amazing storyteller as well. You can feel his passion.
To me Noel Gallagher has written some of the most memorable, incredible, anthemic songs ever and known around the world. Great interview.
Noel is truly my favorite songwriter of all time. He has an uncanny ability to not only write the best songs but the ones I need to hear to keep my chin up. Thanks Chief!
He’s the reason I picked up a guitar, now have a TH-cam channel with mainly Noel covers,Long live the Chief
@@kippsguitar6539 ...and here come the curmudgeons.
Noel always seems to have some amazing stories that you've never heard before. The Johnny Marr one is like something from a movie! No wonder he is a great songwriter.
i am only 20 mins in and Noel has yet again proven himself to be the best interview in rock for the 30th year in a row. "not gettin no fit birds, mate" What an absolute beauty
i swear i read this comment at the exact same time as noel said it at 18:02
He's probably one of the most engaging interviewees around. A master raconteur.
As a writer, he is inspiring to me. Resolute and unwavering to this day. Champion.
he is ineed a good poet
One of the best interviews by Noel. Details of the past we never heard before supported by a crystal clear retrospective of the events made by him in his 50s. We couldn't ask for more. Definiterly he's telling everyone that OASIS is the thing that should stay in that spot, no reunions, no comebacks. Leave it where it is and enjoy the recorded legacy.
Thanks Noel this is great chatter mate. Specially for us everyday heroes
He still talks just like one of my mates would,I love the fact that he's stayed grounded unlike some, who end up with their head in the clouds.
His first solo album is one of a few albums I’ll listen to start to finish and it’s like the first time. Nothing beats it.
Go to TH-cam and the and he does the whole album..well it's just him all the demos it's very good
The end is absolute gold: it's about SONGS
Every interview with Noel is epic. Amazing songwriter. Council Skies is brilliant from start to finish.
Not many people I could listen to for an hour, but this is gold.
I’ve got nothing but respect for Noel…love his evolution over the years.
Excellent. This man is one of the greatest story tellers and songwriters of the last 50 years.
This interview was gold 👊
I ❤❤❤ Be Here Now!!!!No matter what Noel says or thinks about it.
One of the world's best interviewees. Great stuff.
They were the working class finally getting to win at the game.
well said
Agree with you about Noel.

He really is the man. I can listen to his stories forever. Keep telling em our kid!
Noel's extraordinary understanding of music is one of the reasons his interviews are generally excellent.
I could listen to Noel for hours. Great songwriter and musician 👍
I’m only half way through and this is absolutely the best interview he’s ever given.
He’s the best story teller iv ever heard. I could listen to his stories and his songs for ever l, non stop on repeat….Love him
The ending about the nashville guitarists is just a complete message in just a few words , basically him saying that things are like they are for a reason ( MAYBEEEEE , maybe what !! ) LIVE FOREVER NOEL GALLAGHER
I could listen to him speaking for days. The songwriter of my generation. ❤
What a magnificent storyteller. Absolutely brilliant, thanks for sharing this with us Noel. What a life you’ve had and the impact you’ve made on me and millions of people around the world.
To hear you talk about Music Ground in Doncaster. I used to live there and I knew that shop so well, brought back some amazing memories.
“It’s None Of My Business What Other People Think Of Me” Is what I personally get from this interview and I’ll be eternally grateful for that.
👍☘️🎼 good way to be.
This and That pedal show interviews are Noel at his best .He is the soundtrack of my life ❤ O to be back in the 90s 😎
Easily and I mean easily! The most honest I've ever seen Noel in an interview. Excellent to listen to, no vitriol just plain speaking. Love it.
This man is the greatest songwriter of my lifetime. He wrote songs that are part of the soundtrack of my life. As usual, another amazing interview by the chief.
Saw Noel performing over a week ago in my hometown of Dublin. One of the best gigs I ever went to. 😁👍 Great artist, performer and songwriter. Period. 🙌 Probably one of the last (truly) great musicians.
From where he’s come from to where he is now, his songwriting talent and the influence oasis had. Love that he embraces the Irish side too ! Go on the Gallagher 🇮🇪🇮🇪
💚💚🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪
This is so inspiring for an upcoming artist like myself!! especially the "if youre good at it, you'll make it, thats a fact"
Inspired a generation… an actual legend. Noel Gallagher is timeless. Literally gonna live forever
One of my favorite still active song writers of all time. Very smart and funny bloke, too.
Amazing interview! I could listen to Noel for hours, he’s a true storyteller. I hope he’d consider to use his demo as a new single, that would be a banger!
Noel is so certain about his and Oasis’ place in history, and he’s right.
I love how clearly he understands the legacy he’s left/ is leaving
I am really enjoying this huge emergence of Noel in the community
Nice guy.
Good lie ...

Then a little German guy came in with a Rickenbacker. His name? Albert Einstein.
Enjoyed the interview talk . I like Noel.
One of the best interviews from noel i have ever heard. Such a great songwriter, musician and bloke. Keep on rockin noel for all our sakes!
Man that was a GREAT interview. Freaking legend right there. I'm not even the biggest Oasis fan but the nuggets of wisdom dropped in this interview right up till the last sentence are gold!! Noel's the real deal
Fantastic interview ! I was in the front pen at Knebworth '96 & Noel & the band were flawless. Thanks Chief for one of the greatest days of my life

Growing up in Chicago in the 90s, I loved listening to Definitely Maybe over and over again. I still love love that band.
The number of human beings who live on the frequency of truth can probably be counted on one hand but this gentleman is definitely one of them -- always a great, great pleasure to listen to his take on things and this is one of the best interviews out there -- *thank* *you* 💜
What is the frequency of truth?
What a captivating and fantastically honest interview about how they got off the ground and the journey that followed. Noel seems so comfortable in his own skin and giving his honest experiences, opinions and cutting wit. Noel is without a doubt one of the finest songwriters to ever live. Absolutely loved it.
Don't think his songs are anything at all but agree he's a hilarious interviewee
The most important & productive Song Writer in the last 30 years. This man Just keeps getting Better And Better. We should Be Thankful For Noel’s Love For Writing & dedicated work ethic. The amount Of Great Music Noel Has Produced Now Is Astonishing. Love This man’s Motivation & Is A Musical Genius in His own right. ✌️✊✌️. 🎸 🎤 ✍️ ☝️
It’s amazing how Oasis posthumously has become TRULY one of the biggest bands, not just in the UK.. but the World. Noel Gallagher has proven that he is truly one of the great pop songwriters of the last 50 years. Liam is a legendary front man the likes of which we haven’t seen since… Long Live The Mighty Oasis.
Ridiculous, they are not even famous in USA and we're extremely lucky to be successful but I love him as an interviewee, brilliant humour and a cross between self deprecation and narcissism, interesting man
@@kippsguitar6539There's a world outside Magadonia. They conquered the world without having to please Magadonians. You've got your solo stars. We've got our bands.
@@kippsguitar6539No one makes it in USA without substantial assistance from Tavistock.
@@kippsguitar6539where in the States do you live ? maybe not every Oasis song is a mega hit however I dare you to go to any decent bar/club and not hear at least one or two of their songs on any night
Posthumously refers to: after death.
What are you talking about?
Was 18 and bought every single for the b-sides. Every 3 singles, you had an albums worth of great songs. 1st gig was Sheffield Arena and was totally hooked. Earls Court, Wembley, Knebworth. What a time to be alive. Greatest memories that will never be beat!
That picture of Noel and that song at 6:30 is just what an artist is.
British artists are such good storytellers. This and Tony Iommi's interview are my absolute favorite gibson icon videos, and I loved all of them btw. They just have such a fascinating way of telling stories that you admire them maybe a tad bit more than others.
A pleasure as always to listen to Noel talk honestly about himself and his music which literally impacted on so many of us. Thanks.
What a great interview . I'm a singer / songwriter for 44 years . Cheers Noel for the encouragement !
Yes same here! James Bartholomew from Greenwich sir.
I'm 51 now.
There will never be a bad word said about this man in my presence.
Noel seems so much happier and content these days. Love him❤
The most honest musician interview I've ever heard. Totally unpretentious and totally admirable. Love that the interviewer allowed him to talk too.
Legendary band with incredible songs. Can’t wait for the reunion. It’s coming stay tuned.
Dont think so.The Stones Roses got back together and they split up again a few years after.Too many bad memories that got Oasis split up in the first place. With Gallaghers brothers not speaking for years and both getting success of their own a reform is not happening.
Oh I think it will definitely come, the money will be too astronomical to turn down for a few dates playing
