    I lost 60 lbs. eating every third day, a buffet all you can eat every ten days. Lost all the fat off my face, Lots of water, tea, some coffee but on those no eat days I needed sugar from fruits to bike. Arnold used to eat a rotisserie chicken and a pitcher of beer after a workout. That was before he met Vince Gironda and learned about burning the fat off with the keto diet. Vince called it the Maximum Definition Diet...steak and eggs. The chicken wasn't the problem but the beer was nothing but empty carbs.

    Agreed! Following a strict regime of healthy food, good sleep and exercise is the optimum plan for longevity. However, as my doctor advised, some folks get to a certain point in their lives when quality of life is about living according to what makes them happy. That is when meds step in to make a questionable lifestyle livable. Personally, I prefer the first option but I can certainly understand a person's choice to live their happiest life.

    Of course, diet is very important and gets more important the older we get. But Arnold's heart problems came from heavy steroid abuse. I never touched a steroid or other PED, did my decades of heavy lifting naturally, eat everything but concentrating heavily on fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, fish, cheese, nuts, and eggs. I have zero health problems and am still stronger and better-conditioned than all the young guys in the gym, and I'm in my mid-60s. Hi Paul, Am 48, I walk 5 to 6kms everyday early in the morning around 4.30am. (It takes me an hour) After reaching back home I do some squats & stretches. I do weight training with a kettlebell and dumbbells approx three times a week focusing on high repetitions to have a leaner, better defined shape. Resistance bands are pretty good too to maintain muscle tone. After years of experimenting with both diet and exercise, what am currently doing is working well for me. I think you need to follow your gut and try to arrive at what type of workouts suit you the best. Best way in the gym is to start light and then increase weight as you feel stronger. Your body will speak to you as you move on. The approach to diet and exercise, in my opinion, cannot be a “one size fits all” thing. Cheers, Dan

      Starting at our age, compared to a younger man, a younger man can push through the pain barrier and push their limits with little recourse. At our age, pain isn't to be pushed through but to be used as a warning to stop working that particular body part and to come back to it another day. Our chances of injury are higher and our rebounds take a lot longer. Not saying don't push it, just saying obey your bodies warnings. Better to cut a work out short and come back to that body part in a weeks time than push through and be injured for six months.
      Also as we age our muscles absorb less protein than when we were younger. For this find an online protein calculator that allows you to input your age. ..also Vitamin C and proteins is used to repair connective tissues, so as an older guy, protein and vitamin C needs to be top of your list.

I thought they were healthy, but they only cause pain and inflammation. Same for chocolate, but I'll have a little treat on a rare occasion. Watch out for spinach, extremely high oxylate content.
      Wish I've known this earlier, but I'm changing up my diet now and eating mostly animal products and carbs like white rice. Mushrooms is nice. Certain veggies are ok like asparagus, onions, garlic, cauliflower, broccoli. But overall I would stay away from most veggies.

    as a 55 year old, I train with lighter weights verses the heavy weights. Its alot easier on the joints and i still get a pump with results and believe me when i say that if you ever hurt your shoulders or elbows. I cut out 95% of red meat. i eat fish and chicken and fresh vegetables daily. i feel and look great for my age. people think im in my 30s.

    I've cut out sugary foods, junk foods, pork, deep-fried foods, and nitrate deli meats. Just regular raw vegetables, good fruits, homemade pizzas, make chicken dishes, fresh fish dishes, and homemade soups. What a difference I sure made and came very close to being diabetic. Thankfully, I found it in time and reverse the process. By the way, at 2:35, you spelled "vegitables" wrong. It's "vegetables". Hasta la vista, baby!

    Like Arnold I relied heavily on protein, eggs and red meat. Even went carnivore. Until I developed angina pectoris and had a light heart attack. That wake up call made me change my diet, like Arnold. Only little animal products now.

    • @pnp8849
      @pnp8849 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It causes from salt/potassium imbalance. It has nothing to do with protein or red meat consumption. Your body is either lack of green veggies or lack of salt or both. Always eat beef or proteins with lots of veggies and salt(most good protein powder will have potassium and salt). Also heart attack is occur where there's not enough animal fat to protect nerve inside the heart. If people were to cut out vegetable oil and use butter or lard heart attack would never happen.
