It’s ok to expect great singing from Dimash because you will always get it. Try Ikenaide from the Tokyo jazz festival, very intimate, in a studio setting or Olympico in a big arena with thousands of people. He commands attention. No one like him.
Dimash wanted a prayer for the world, so he called up Igor Krutoy and this is the magic they made. A Christian hymn, composed by a Jewish man, and sung by a Muslim man. Truly, a prayer for the world “Ave Maria” is a variation adapted to Dimash's voice in order to explore only the three opening notes and changing the fourth note to a higher note. At the end, the advanced vocal technique: “Messa Di Voce “ (from Italian Bel Canto technique) at the last note sustained 15 seconds on the note C6 . Swell, increase and decrease the volume but don’t change the pitch, it is extremely difficult and only pro vocalists with years of training can do it. Singing on whistle and super head voice with SOFT SOUND IS SO HARD TO DO, harder than loud whistle note!

Dimash is just great, isn't he? He manages to lift people to heaven with just one vowel. He leaves me speechless every time I hear this song. And I love it when the drums come in. It's so unique. Igor Krutoy (the gentleman at the piano) composed this version of the Ave Maria at Dimash's request.
Usually, Ave Maria is a prayer to the Holy Virgin Mary. In this case, however, it is a prayer for all people, no matter what religion they belong to.
Besides that Dimash is a Muslim and Igor Kurtoy, who often accompanies him on the piano, is Jewish. That is why this Ave Maria has no lyrics, since it is not only sung for Christians.
He sang this song on the New Wave in Sochi, Russia in 2021. This is an international contest for young performers founded by Igor Krutoy in 2002. Dimash sang here as a guest and was also a member of the jury.
Igor Krutoy is a famous Russian-Ukrainian composer, producer and songwriter. He came out of retirement specifically to work with Dimash when he first heard him. True masterpieces were created. He performed this song on the same show as Stranger, just not on the same day.
I have many Dimash songs that I consider favorites and I can't decide which one is better. However, I can say with certainty that one song is my absolute favorite song. Love Of Tired Swans. It wasn't until I started listening to Dimash that I realized how incredibly beautiful songs are in Russian. Unfortunately it is also a very difficult language, at least for me. Love Of Tired Swans is also a song written by Igor Krutoy, although Lara Fabian sang it for the first time. What fascinates me is that in many songs that we know, Dimash's voice sounds now much deeper in the lower notes. He must have worked pretty hard on it. I love it.

Wow, 68 Ave Maria settings from 7 eras... but now 69! I mean, this song is on the same high level as Schubert's or Vavilov's (Caccini's) Ave Maria... also beyond all spirituality, just wonderful music.

Maestro Igor Krutoy shared the story of the creation of the work 'Ave Maria' for Dimash.
When writing a hit, Krutoy is guided by the Italian principle: every composer is worth exactly what his latest work is worth, which means that all previous successes and achievements do not count.
“On one of the nights, about three months before New Wave, Dimash called and asked if I could write 'Ave Maria' for him and he explained that he wanted to sing something in that style... Coincidentally, I had a spare evening, and I happily sat down at the piano and, inspired by the memory of the Italian formula of responsibility, worked until I achieved the desired result. It took me a few days to 'let' the composition 'lay' in my ears, soul and heart, and sent it to Dimash, who replied literally within half an hour that: ‘This is exactly what I wanted to hear', said Krutoy. Hello dear. This "Ave Maria" is a fragment of the opera by the Russian musician and composer Vladimir Vavilov that Ygor Krutoy arranged at Dimash's request especially for his voice. "Ave Maria" is a meditation, a prayer considered the great mystery of birth and death. The clothing that Dimash wears depicts the polarities that symbolize the black represents the basic instincts rooted in the earth and the white represents the purity and evolution of the heart and soul that can finally rise to heaven. This is an original composition by Igor Krutoy (at the piano). The beginning of the piece seems to be an imitation of the sounds from Outer Space that were recorded by NASA, establishing an otherworldly atmosphere. Dimash intentionally uses only vocalization to make this a prayer/meditation for all people, regardless of their spiritual orientation. Words often divide us, but music has the power to unite. The purity of Dimash's voice, the genius of Igor Krutoy's composition, the choir, instrumentation, and staging all combine to transport the listener beyond this earthly existence into the heavenly worlds. The messa di voce on High C at the end is absolutely exquisite. It reminds me of the sound of a Tibetan singinging bowl.
Russian figure skater and gold medalist Anna Shcherbakova used Ave Maria for her performance at the European Figure Skating Championships on January 16, 2022. Even though we come to expect his vocal brilliance, he still manages to stun and surprise. Though you’ve reacted to his most popular neoclassical performances, he is far from a one trick pony. He performs in many other genres and styles, and doesn’t always use vocal acrobatics to achieve his goals. He has a lot of pop and folk performances where he doesn’t showcase his range, as he only uses those dynamics when the song calls for it. You will come to see that he has many sides to his artistry. Some of those performances include “Omir” (his latest release) which is a love song to his Dears, “Be With Me” ( watch the official music video) where he raps, fights and gets the girl, “Fly Away”, “Okey”, “Together”, “Zahlyn” and “Golden” are all pop songs. I highly recommend his Kazakh folk songs “ Samaltau” and “Omir Oter”, and“Daididau”. There is one song that encapsulates almost all of his “bag of tricks”, which is “The Story of One Sky”. Dimash wrote the screenplay for it and spent 3 years composing the music. It’s a mini movie masterpiece.

The emotion Dimash endows his out-of-this-world performances with escalates the impact he creates even beyond the matchless brilliance of his singing. Just stumbled across your channel in my recommendations per reactors to Dimash. Really enjoyed your enjoyment of this magical performance. There are dozens of different songs called, "Ave Maria," and hundreds of different versions of some of them. This one was written especially for Dimash by composer and pianist, Igor Krutoy. It's an Ave Maria to unite those of every religion, and those of no religion. Dimash is all about uniting the world through his music.

When I first heard this version from Dimash and Igor, I vowed right then and there to listen to it at least once a day, as it literally PULLS us up out of our 3rd dimension and into the 4th, where our dreams and meditations lie. All I have to do is lean back in my chair, close my eyes, and let it wash over me. It was Dimash who went to Igor and asked him to compose a new version of "Ave Maria" in vocalize style, where no words are sung--an absolutely brilliant choice as it transcends any possible language misinterpretations, thus being able to reach all religions as a prayer to God/Creator. Если честно, все это я старался забыть. Даже в больнице побывал (где врачи пытались вывести меня из состояния глубокой депрессии). Но тут пришел Димаш, словно острым ножом самым бесцеремонным образом вскрыл мою память и выпустил все эти воспоминая обратно... И я злюсь!!! Совсем немного на него (Димаша) и в основном на себя (потому что опять больно, очень больно...).

Alison you do a great job of appreciating Dimash. I found him on TH-cam 6 years ago and have enjoyed him everyday since then. I can listen to him over and over. His time on the Singer 2017 seemed to bring his talent into the light. He sang 7-8 songs on the Singer that are still some of my favorites but he has grown and matured so much since then. I hope you’ll listen to his newer songs without forgetting his earlier ones. I know you’ll be amazed. Be encouraged. And thank you for listening to the greatest male singer in the world.

This is a new composition by Igor Krutoy for Dimash at Dimash's request. It is not the Schubert's or any of the other multitude compositions of 'Ave Maria'.
