This is my first time hearing Dimash Qudaibergen sing! I know he's not Japanese, but since this song is a Japanese song that Dimash sang at the 20th Tokyo Jazz Festival I thought it would be a great video to review on this channel.

Dimash is Kazakhstan's gift to the world. He has fan clubs in 150 countries (that's nearly all of them!) and routinely draws fans to his concerts from 60-70 countries no matter where they take place. He has sold out arenas and stadiums in places like New York, London, Moscow, Prague, Dubai, Malaysia, Turkey, Latvia, Belarus, Ukraine----the list goes on and on. Fans from 5 to 95 and from every race, culture, nationality, religion and political view flock to be near him. There is no one like Dimash----as you will find out if you choose to jump aboard the Dimash train. I've been on it for seven years, and I'm never getting off of it!

He is the best singer in the world, hands down. His voice is something that comes around once in a lifetime. He has a gift for moving your soul and your emotions and bringing tears to songs you don’t need to understand to feel it in your essence. Dimash followers, he calls them his dears.

He sings this song in a previous show in Chinese, I believe, in China. There it is called 'Autumn Strong'.
Dimash is quite probably the greatest vocalist in living memory and also a truly good, kind, generous loving human being. He's 29, from Kazakhstan and has been musically educated since the age of 5 with a bachelor's degree in vocals, a master's degree in composition and is soon to complete his PhD.
He works tirelessly for world peace and has just held meetings at the UN in Geneva.
I count myself extremely fortunate to be living in the era of Dimash.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Dimash! He is considered to be one of the best vocalists alive today and has been training his voice since the age of 5. He sings many genres of music and every song will surprise and amaze you. One of his idols is Lara Fabian and he covers some of the songs she has sung, such as “Adagio” (listen to the Singer 2017 version, you will love it!). Lara even wrote the lyrics to a song , “Your Love”, that was composed for Dimash. They also sang together, in a trio “Ti Amo Cosi”. By the way, you got the pronunciation of his first name correct. Dimash Qudaibergen (di-MOSH Koo-dye-BEHR-gen) is a talented artist from Kazakhstan who began his formal training at the age of 5. He is professionally trained in opera, contemporary music, and musical theater. His diverse discography includes genres such as pop, R&B, EDM, rock, folk/traditional, neo-classical, opera, and even rap and hip-hop with a vocal range of 7+ octaves: C1-D8(which doesn't exist on a standard 88-key piano).
Qudaibergen has performed songs in 15 languages and is fluent in Russian and Kazakh while also possessing some proficiency in English and Chinese. A multi-instrumentalist, composer, songwriter, producer, director, and actor, he owns a production company called Dimashali Creative Center. You will love his original song Avé Maria. You probably already know there are hundreds of versions. Dimash has one that was arranged by the famous composer Igor Krutoy. Dimash called him up one day and asked him to write it, and as he had time, he said he'd get right on it!

Sadly this is the only Japanese song he has sung, although he has performed in the Tokyo Jazz Festival for 3 years in a row. But for the 20th he presented the cover of Ikanaide in Japanese. You should watch the original singer/composer Koji Tamaki. Ikanaide means Don't Go. Lara Fabian is well known in the fandom of Dimash, as Dimash is a big fan of Lara. FYI, if you watched this video from his TH-cam page, he has English subs on it, the one on the Tokyo Jazz page does not.

Dimash is definitely a gift from God! He’s from Kazakhstan and has been training since the age of 5. His parents are both singers. Music courses through his veins. Lara Fabian is one of his idols, and they have sung together. You have probably heard her do “Adagio” - he does that song on the Singer Chinese competition from 2017. Also A Chinese version of this song (Ikanaide) called “Autumn Stong.” For that one, look it up on Gloria Wu’s channel, as she has the backstory to the song - it is indeed a sad song. Ikanaide means “Don’t Go.” Looking forward to more Dimash reactions from you! Most people start their journey with SOS. I like the Singer 2017 version, which catapulted him to fame overnight, but the digital show one is great, too, and all others❣️ have fun!

Dimash is considered one of the best vocalists of all time, and is setting a new standard for vocal technique/performance/flexibility in our time. Lara Fabian is one of his biggest idols as he was growing up; he has covered several of her songs and sang with her a couple of times as well. He's not only talented, but also is one of the most humble artists you could ever see, just like Lara Fabian!

This version "Ikanaide" (行かないで) ) is the original, from 1989, composed by Koji Tamaki (famous Japanese singer, born in 1958) with lyrics by Goro Matsui. The version "Autumn Strong" (Late Autumn), sung in Chinese, uses the same song, but has another lyrics (Yaqui Cheung, from 1993) and another theme: It talks about the Japanese actress Yoshiko Yamagushi, very dear to the Chinese, who was deported when they discovered her Japanese origin (his real name was Li Xiang Lan and we're talking about World War II, where Japan was China's enemy) and never returned to China. In the original version, the lyrics are more intimate, sentimental and more recognized worldwide. It means: "Please don't go!". 9:02 DIMASH and Lara Fabian knows eachother very well, they sang together, they sang eachother songs etc. but he has songs from all genres and he usually mix many genres in one song.
Hopefully she will soon be watching Dimash and Lara sing together in "Ti Amo Cosi" and also Dimash's performance of Lara's song, "Adagio." The one I really can't wait to see her react to is Dimash's unique, "Ave Maria," sing she said she likes songs of praise and worship.

Dimash, THE greatest vocalist of ALL time. You’ve heard nothing yet! He sings in 13 languages (this was the first time he sang in Japanese) (he sings lots in English) and he sings in all genres. He and Lara Fabian are close, she was Dimash’s idol when he was a child and he has learnt a lot from how she delivers her songs. His dream came true when he got to sing with her on the occasion of Russian composer Igor Krutoy’s 65th birthday in 2019. The song was called Ti Amo Cosi (in Italian). It can be found on Dimash’s channel, it was a trio with Dimash, Lara and Aida Garifullina (Russian Soprano). Igor Krutoy worked with Lara a lot before his retirement, but when he heard Dimash sing in 2018, he came out of retirement to compose some songs for Dimash, which are all incredible masterpieces. Dimash won’t sign a contract with the West because he doesn’t want anyone controlling what he sings which is anything from Opera to Rock, to Folk, to Pop, to Jazz, to Rap. In fact he can sing anything technically perfect, with his range of 7.2 octaves. Dimash doesn’t do covers much these days apart from those he’s already well known for singing since he has people queuing up to compose for him and he is also a master composer in his own right. Whenever he does a cover, he always does it better than the original which is why a couple of famous singers have banned him from ever singing their songs again! He has recently been working on a project with 16 times grammy award winner, David Foster, in LA - we don’t know what it is yet. Dimash is also a multi instrumentalist, he plays 7 instruments. He was 29 on 24th May 2023, and he gets bettet and better every year, even though he was a perfect singer when he came on to the world stage in 2017 at the age of 22.

Lara Fabian is his idol! They've actually sung together. Josh Groban, although good in his own right, is nowhere near Dimash's level. Dimash is definitely the best technical singer in the world by far. His range as well as emotional connection is really off the charts. The more you listen to him the more you will be surprised at his flexibility in whatever music he wants to sing or arrange. I highly recommend you at least read his Wikipedia page because he's truly a once-in-a-generation talent.

I am besotted with Dimash. Have been since I saw him on you tube I Am Singer 2017. I’ve been to three overseas concerts which are usually over three hours long, with him singing opera, rock, pop, folk and even some rap. He plays instruments, dances, jokes and chats with the audience, gets us all singing, kisses babies…….. he is just special. Respectful, loving, kind, considerate, patriotic and philanthropic. He is filled to the brim with music and live for everyone. Sings in 14 languages, speaks Kazakh, Russian fluently, pretty good in conversational English now and some mandarin. His fabs (dears) will suggest songs and they are all amazing. Some of My favourites are S O S in French, Ogni Pietra, in Italian, Stranger in English and Samaltau in Kazakh. But he has dozens to choose from... (Christine)

Dimash's music is very diverse and captivating. He's performed beautiful video-game, movie and TV theme songs, and his concerts and other performances online give me endless joy. His music video creations fascinate me, sometimes funny, often profound and artistic.
He's a well-educated, hard-working, poetic, deep thinking, sensitive, humble Renaissance man with a warm heart and great sense of humor. I can't help but love him. Even the Pope gave him a commemorative medal; Dimash promotes world peace, kindness and appreciation of cultural diversity.

This song was recorded during the pandemic. It's a studio recording. No audience. The entire Tokyo Jazz Festival was handled this way in 2021 - online distribution.
