When I heard this in game, I thought this is like a DKC song… no wait it resembles “secret of the forest” from chronotrigger. It’s a bit of both. I’m not alone in this right? 😂
DUDE. I adore this song and i'm a long time fan of David Wise's work, specially things like Forest Interlude and Stickerbush symphony. I think what feels similar in both is not only all that etherealness, but in this song it sounds like a wolf/fox is howling to the song, and one thing that is common in a lot of DKC songs is the distorted monkey sounds. There's something about these spiritualized animal cries that just sounds amazing.
Sameeeeee. It's one of the earlier tracks in the game too. I knew Lifeformed did the OST but when this song started playing I was like ayoooooo I know this one, and just vibed for a bit
@@Rioraku I remember one user posted this track on TH-cam when the demo released in Steam, and we had the same conversation. I said it sounded like Secret of the Forest and they told me it had that DKC flavour to it :)
As hard as it may be to find at first, even the most "kiddy" of games can be really surprising, especially when you go in with such a view. Kirby is another good example, those games look like they're for literal toddlers but the lore is like an intense and deep tapestry that's been planned out for years, with character arcs that span the entire series and horrifying concepts like the Dark Matter, heart wrenching stories like that of Haltmann or Sectonia, or mind bending things like Void.
@@cyankoopa8111 I wanna get into the meat of Kirby games so bad, but I just wind up bored by how easy they tend to be... Loved Super Star as a kid, but haven't been able to go through any of the other ones because of that low difficulty.
@@karunyagopan Yeah, that's completely understandable. Usually in Kirby games, the difficulty is really only in stuff after the main campaigns, things like the true arena- or the side modes. It can be a little hard to get into the actual main campaign, especially if you didn't grow up with it.
Some of the best games ever have an incredibly deceiving art direction. Super Paper Mario and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky are a bit goofy, but they tell deceptively deep stories, and have amazing soundtracks.
One of my favourite themes from TUNIC. I certainly believe you guys when you say Chrono Trigger and DKC vibes, but with how the sounds sometimes change to noises in the guise of animals calling, I'm also reminded of Starfox Adventures a bit. The East Forest is always an area I return to just to hear the music that plays there. The others being The Great Library and West Garden music.
: Any wild canid running around in the forest has this playing in their head. That's a fact. I confirmed it. With science. There's studies. All peer-reviewed by zoologists. Who I have living in my head rent-free.
This should have won best indie game at the awards, it's a crime.
i will NEVER forgive Stray for stealing that award. game wasn't even that good.
@@eye_balling yeah, although thankfully it won some awards at the Brit awards
Signalis should have been mentioned instead of stray
Game awards sucks
who ended up winning?
This has to be my favorite song in TUNIC. I feel a lot of emotions with this one. I can't get enough of it 🦊

nope, I also thought about Chrono Trigger and DKC while listening to this lol
Definitely got DKC vibes 🤗
A mi tambien me recordó mucho a secret of the forest es casi identica

So glad im not the only person hearing secret of the forest
WHAAAAAT THIS SONG WAS PART OF THIS SOUNDTRACK THE WHOLE TIME???
Bro I been listening to this for YEARS before Tunic came out!

Wait so this song came out by Lifeformed before the game was released?
@@Jayplay17from the demo of the game, before official release basically
Same here!! I just found out today. Gives me another reason to play Tunic!
3:10. I really hope you have more moments like this. I can't remember the last time my head lit up so much from ostinatos like that.
You've probably already heard it by now, but "Flux Is On" later in this album has some similar moments!
Okay, after months of listening to so many of the songs on this OST, I think I've decided that this is one is the most impressive to me.
every time i hear the beginning of the song i also hear the save point sound effect in the back of my mind
I really do like the music. Thought for some reason, it has a faint resemblance of Chrono Triggers OST "Secret of the Forest".
Also reminds me a bit of some DKC music from the SNES. Has a similar vibe to tracks like Aquatic Ambiance

The chord progression is so similar to Secret of the Forest. And also has a similar instrumentation. I wouldn't be surprised if its a direct homage.
I came to comment the same LOL good memories with Chrono ✨
I just listened to that song last night and fell asleep to it
still in the middle of playing tunic but this song is so good
I really overlooked this game for how kiddy it looked, but damn it has so much charm and atmosphere/music/mechanics makes this game unforgettable.

It has only been a year and this song is already so nostalgic, along with many others.
I absolutely love this game.
This reminds me of Chrono Trigger so much. I adore the entire soundtrack for this game
I was about to comment just that. The track is called Secret of the forest
Thanks you for this masterpiece! Reminds me of old zelda in DS and FEZ as well
🌲🦊🌲
This sounds like life's checkpoint
I could lie down in the East Forest listening to this for hours.
Thank you, this game and it's music is such a work of art. It's easily one of my favourite games of all time now
The music is so strong in Tunic! Thanks!
me recuerda mucho a los temas acuáticos de donkey kong country, es sumamente precioso.

This album got taken down on Spotify :( please re add the album I really love it 🫶🫶🫶
it was taken down because of a fraudulent copyright claim 😔 we're working hard to get it back up
@@Lifeformedoh damn rlly?😢 hoping for the best that this masterpiece will be back up :)
After a Minute that Song reminds me so much on that Under Water Stage Music from Donkey Kong! So fantastic!
Secret of the forest chill version!
Chrono Tunic: Aquatic Ambiance
10/10 game, would sacrifice my first born child to play it for the first time again
I get an Aquatic Ambience from DKC vibe from this! So good!!
ooohhh it tickles lol
beautiful sound scape> Gabe would approve
Just beautiful

Tiene un aire con la música de Chrono Trigger en los bosques.
Que curioso, cuando escuche la cancion la primera vez en el juego fue exactamente lo que pense!
Reminds me of a mix of Secrets of the Forest and Light World Dungeon
Aquatic ambience
Reminds me of Schala's theme from Chrono Trigger🤔❤
These chords kinda reminds me of Deltarune - Gallery
FFX - Wandering
It's very similar
It's not just me that hears a little FFX, right?
A bit too obvious a reference to Secret of the Forest, I would say.
This wouldnt win the lawsuit against secret of the forest lmfao
Amphetamine seems to be better
But no, I think sex is more likely to be better.
Reminds me of Chrono trigger
