Like is it really our fault as women if boys think we're distracting? Rather than encouraging unique styling as we age, we're constantly being told that we won't be socially accepted if we wear what we as an individual feel is fashionable and suits us. The no shoulders thing is seriously like wth. We should all ask males if they feel that seeing a woman without her shoulders covered is actually that big a deal.
Can I just mention that women can’t wear certain things because schools don’t want boys to get distracted (shorts or lower cut tops) but boys can wear tank tops or fitted jeans which could be a distraction to some girls Also why do girls have to wear certain things to fit with boys and what works for them everyday but not vice versa?
Morgan Dee Actually no. "Distracted" is just their sneaky way of saying attracted aka sexually interested. Which has everything to do with respect. They should have the decency and respect to simply look away and not be thinking about how attractive someone is. That being said, most dress codes are ridiculous and peg all boys as perverted or particularly fetish-y (shoulder fetish).
Fleeting Colors i disagree. it’s nearly impossible to see someone attractive whether it’s sexually or otherwise and just “not think about it.” It’s human nature. Being attracted to someone for the way they look is not disrespectful in the slightest.
Morgan Dee It's called having enough respect to LOOK AWAY so that girls don't have to wear such strict clothing. Just because you can't control if you're attracted to someone, that doesn't mean you can't look away. The respectful thing to do if you are feeling sexual about someone is LOOK AWAY and not sit there getting aroused by them. As I mentioned before though, I don't think guys should be held to such stereotypes.

I do agree that uniforms are much easier but my school is still strict on trousers and skirts I have a pair of trousers that are against the rules as they have ‘jean pockets’ even though you can’t see them under my jumper
The reason there are no comments is because this video originally uploaded to another channel however was moved to this channel which deleted the comments. I don’t know why.
At my school all of us overly exaggerate when our shoulders are showing and we ask if they’re distracting the boys 😂 even some teachers will joke about the shoulders
My middle school’s dress code last year was so strict for girls and was basically show up in clothes for boys. Once I walked into school with shorts that where to my mid thigh was told it violated the dress code (which it did not) and had to call my mom from work, get her to drive all the way to the school with some yoga pants, and bring them to me I was very late to class that day (I missed 1 and a half periods). So we had a day at my school where everyone had to make a presentation about something to change the school for the better. Most girls chose to do it on dress codes because we felt it was very unfair. We found out that out of 1089 students 41% had been dress coded and all of them were girls. Not one boy had been dress coded that year. Now this year the girls and boys dress codes are the same and it’s so much better.
Dress codes are stupid, but so are kids. Since they are needed they should be gender neutral. Same coverage and requirements for both genders. No reason a dude should be wearing a tank top and same goes with chicks. Coverage to half bicep and to knee, no belly exposure, etc, for everyone.
i absolutely hated the dress code when i was in school. i was always modest and got sent home for wearing a long pinup dress that had no sleeves, but it was around a three inch width on my shoulders. yet the cheerleaders could wear their bootie shorts to regular classes??? been almost ten years since i graduated and im still wondering why school staff cant play it by common sense.
Idk how many times a teacher or someone from administration passing by sent someone to the office for “violating” the dress code at my high school. How did they expect us to not wear shorts and tank tops in San Diego in the middle of a heat wave?🤦🏽♀️
I honestly have no friggen clue what my school's dress code is. I'm not allowed to wear shirts w guns on it or spaghetti straps... but I'm allowed to wear crop tops and fish nets????
I live in England, everywhere has uniform, my old secondary school’s rules were, we had to wear blazers and ties until the temperature reached 30 degrees and when we were at 35 degrees, we weren’t legally allowed to be at school.
35 degrees!!! I LIVE IN AUSTRALIA THATS LIKE A NORMAL HOT SUMMER DAY!!! but my school has winter and summer uniforms 😢 the boys can wear pants or long sleeve tops all year round whilst girls have a whole other uniform!!!
Here in Sweden, some girls walk around in super tight sports bras and incredibly short skirts and nobody cares. Dress codes exist so nobody gets distracted by revealing clothes. But I have never had any problem with it because I'm used to it. Aren't you Americans, THE LAND OF THE FREE?
Depends on what school you go to, my school, you can wear basically anything as long as you're ass and boobs aren't hanging out. People in general don't care, just some schools are ridiculous.
At my school we can’t wear ripped jeans even if there are leggings underneath. If we want to wear our ripped jeans we have to put tape over the holes, and no we can’t put them under the holes, it has to be OVER. So that if you wear them you face the consequences of the frays tearing more when you take the tape off.
For my school that would be OK, the rule for ripped jeans at my school is, no holes above where the fingertips land on the outer thigh. Though I have worse black panty hose under and I was fine.
i just thought about this. girl: *wears shorts that are to short* dresscode: "let's make her wear a bright yellow top that doesn't cover her shorts AT ALL!! YA that'd smart!" edit: hold crap how did i get so many likes
My boyfriend went to Central Valley High School in Shasta Lake, CA and he said that Chantell’s wild feminist shirt would 100% incite conflict 😂 There’s a reason most of that county voted for Trump
Catherine Rousseau Please no...Jazz annoys the hell out of me. She’s supposed to be the one of the most fashionable in the office, but a lot of her outfits don’t look like much to me. And just imagining the attitude she’d give if she couldn’t wear something, or had to put on the shirt. Ugh. Maybe it makes me seem like a bitch or something, but I’ve seen her in so many videos and so many times she has this fucking attitude. Or she has this outfit on (and I’m by no means conservative and boring in my sense and understanding of fashion), and I’m just sitting there going “WTF?”

You should do an episode on Michigan school dress codes. At my middle school every year the staff pulled the girls out of lunch to lecture us on the dress code. Every frickin' year.
So I am a British viewer and I was confused as to why you needed a dress code cos here is the uk it’s more unusual to not wear uniform. We just wear uniform which is so easy, until today I was really jealous because the USA got to wear there own clothes but watching this I am so glad we have uniforms
No one cares about the dress code. Few schools apply it especially in states like California and new york. Never take buzzfeed seriously. All their videos don't show how americans actually live
my school 3 years ago has a dress code assembly: girls riot and start asking why guys can wear whatever they want etc. my school: dress code never applied ever since then
True story: in 4th grade, I was wearing a pair if shorts that were only little teansy bit over my knee, and these two girls who wore makeup and acted like they were 18 walked over to me while chewing gum, and said they were telling the teacher I got sent home, my parents went off, let's just say ever since then, those girls dont bother me, and I dont get dress coded 😏

I agree...literally every British school has one I’m sure.
Saaaaammmmeeee
ikr! i used to go to a private school with a uniform and i dreaded it, but i moved to a public school after with free dress and i honestly hate getting dressed up everyday and i've stopped putting effort into what i look like
I do agree that uniforms are much easier but my school is still strict on trousers and skirts I have a pair of trousers that are against the rules as they have ‘jean pockets’ even though you can’t see them under my jumper
I live in Florida and our schools have super strict dress codes so I like having a uniform😂

You should try dress codes from different countries!
JustJadeTube If they tried from my school it would be pretty easy because we don't have a dress code
don't a lot of countries just have uniforms...even for public school
@@deirdrekealy4434 no
And lots of countries don't have dresscodes at all (or at least not official written ones), but it could be interesting for those that do :)
Yes! In Canada some of ours include things like you need to be dressed appropriately for the weather. LOL
My dress code only goes against boys, don't wear SWEATPANTS but if your a girl go right ahead
Someone iTs UnFaIr fOr GiRlS shut up headass

i absolutely hated the dress code when i was in school. i was always modest and got sent home for wearing a long pinup dress that had no sleeves, but it was around a three inch width on my shoulders. yet the cheerleaders could wear their bootie shorts to regular classes??? been almost ten years since i graduated and im still wondering why school staff cant play it by common sense.
I go to Oceanside high school, let me tell you right now.

Jade McClintock no, not at my school. People get sent to the office every day for dress code violation, 90 percent of the time it's a girl called in.
YES! In my school there's this really angry lunch monitor who used to enforce shoulder showing rules
Idk how many times a teacher or someone from administration passing by sent someone to the office for “violating” the dress code at my high school. How did they expect us to not wear shorts and tank tops in San Diego in the middle of a heat wave?🤦🏽♀️
My school has all of this as a dress code but no one follows it and they can’t dress code everyone 😂😂😂
They COULD they're just too lazy 😂😂😂😂😂
Yo that happened at my school too lmao no one did it... It was also like... The more popular and liked a kid was the less ppl dresscoded them 😒
I honestly have no friggen clue what my school's dress code is.
I live England too but my primary school didn't have uniform but my secondary school did
I wish my school had a heat limit- I would have liked to avoid school when it was 104 degrees (Fahrenheit)
Schools in the UK don’t have AC. They are built to keep heat in!
Max Anderson it’s the same here in Norway, like no one cares about what you wear
We are the land of the free and stop showing your shoulders
Lol wish I had that dress code!
I live in Germany and it's the same here. There's literally no dress code
You could trick the principal by wearing ripped jeans with leggings underneath! :)
@@SephSims that's so stupid
For my school that would be OK, the rule for ripped jeans at my school is, no holes above where the fingertips land on the outer thigh. Though I have worse black panty hose under and I was fine.
I do that in winter
I’ve seen people shove paper under the holes of their jeans for morning dress code checks and then taken it out right after
