The total package, a gentleness that very few men have yet a man's man. You wrote the best songs, the songs we all fell in love with. A soundtrack of teenage lust mixed with the perfect amount of innocence. You are so loved and missed. Rick Springfield said it best about you, maybe lesser artists have passed you in fame but never talent. They couldn't hold a candle to you. I hope you are at Peace. Cleveland Rocks!!! Prayers for your family, children, and friends. What an incredible legacy you left. 💙🙏💔🥹
What a gorgeous looking man, I loved Eric when he sang with the Raspberries and watched him evolve as a serious songwriter. Those eyes, that voice. Thankyou for sharing your gift of music with us.❤
Dear God above, I know that Eric is in Your peace. I miss his music, his presence, his joy. Thank You for giving him to us for 74 years! May Eric always rest in Your PEACE🙏💙✝️.
A bright, soulful man, who could slip easily from epic rock star to an unequald pianist, writing music that touched us all. Heaven has a new, bright star. RIP sir.❤
Eric's songs will live on! I can still hear them when I think of the 1970's. AM radio fans loved Raspberries music in the 70's. I was at Charlotte High School in Rochester, NY in the 1970s when the Raspberries came out. I still remember buying their first self-titled "Vinyl" album with the "Scratch and Sniff" sticker on the front. Yes, if you scratched it, it smelled like Raspberries! They had a lot of great songs but my two favorites were, "I Can Remember," and "If You Change Your Mind." I had lost a high school sweet heart back then, and it seemed every one of Eric's words resonated with the feelings I was going through. After Eric left the band for his solo career in the late 1970s, I believe it was the Summer of 1975, I saw the remaining band with Wally Bryson on lead guitar, doing a show at the Hilton High School gymnasium in Hilton, NY. The Raspberries were Great with Eric and Eric had many hits alone and it was great they re-united in the later years to do great shows together again. Thanks Eric, Thanks Raspberries for Great memories... ♥✝🙏
What am amazing cover of the original song. . like Eric's version so much better. He was an incredibly talented, handsome and sexy man who had that little "come on" look in his eyes when he sang. I will never get tired of listening to his music and thank God that Eric graced us on this Earth for 74 years. A true talent.
Eric. Thank you for adding your special gift for us in the '70s. Whether in the Raspberries or solo, you gave us beautiful, distinctive music. Your voice was one of the best male voices of the era. RIP.
Well Eric, you're gone now. You'll be sorely missed. Remember Spring of 1980 when this song had such a refreshing feel from the older version. Coolness at its finest, this had been Eric's best !
Eric Carmen, meu anjo grisalho e amor eterno! Tão talentoso, ótimo cantor e compositor!!! Hoje, um belo idoso de cabelos grisalhos, lindo, fofo! Meu idoso fofinho!!! AMOR ETERNO, eu te amo!!! 🎶🎵🎸🎻🎺📯🎷😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
He has been under appreciated as an artist. With the Raspberries he was their cute sexy lead vocalist. Nothing wrong with that but he wanted to clearly expand beyond the boy band image.
Eric is amazing. He's so talented. I love his voice. It doesn't hurt that he's gorgeous too. Even 30 years later, he's as sexy as ever and sounds incredible! "Brand New Year" is awesome.
Not merely a great admirer of Motown composer/lyricist legends Holland-Dozier-Holland, Carmen was also a worthy interpreter of this Four Tops hit which he would have first encountered in 1964 as a fifteen year-old music prodigy. Genius meets genius. Would love an appropriate attribution of this stylish performance. 🎤

I never knew he sang Motown. So many videos after his untimely death! It was mentioned that Eric hated the sound of his own voice! Yikes! We loved it, sir!
Sorry , no disrespect to Eric Carmen but didn't like this version. I can only think of one other artists that really did a great cover of this classic song and that was Johnny Rivers . Just my opinion .
Carl Carlton, 1982. It's on TH-cam. Drop-kick funky! I was 26... I'm 65 now. I was 11 when Johnny did his in 1967. I was 8 when the Four Tops did theirs (the original) in 1964. My favorite? Can't compare the three, just my opinion. But what really made Johnny's so soulful is that the Blossoms are on backups: Jeanie King, Fannita James, and Darlene Love - with Darlene wailing toward the end. LOVE IT!!!

What show is this?
I adore Eric Carman ... but when I see him videos like this I always think the same thing : cross betw Dana Carvey & Christopher Guest.
Eric SOS un capo
I never knew he sang Motown. So many videos after his untimely death! It was mentioned that Eric hated the sound of his own voice! Yikes! We loved it, sir!

Not the Four Tops but he had enough hair for four. (I'm just jealous)

Loved Johnny Rivers version but when I heard Eric’s, I jumped on that bandwagon. Sorry Johnny.we’ll always have Summer Rain. 🤗
