The 80's were magic... heard this song for the 1st time last week.. how is this possible? It's 10,000 times better than the crap today.

I think the a capella part at 3:45 had the studio’s vocals for the other singers. That sounded exactly like it and I didn’t see anyone else besides Carmen and the girls singing.

Eric's songs will live on! I can still hear them when I think of the 1970's. AM radio fans loved Raspberries music in the 70's. I was at Charlotte High School in Rochester, NY in the 1970s when the Raspberries came out. I still remember buying their first self-titled "Vinyl" album with the "Scratch and Sniff" sticker on the front. Yes, if you scratched it, it smelled like Raspberries! They had a lot of great songs but my two favorites were, "I Can Remember," and "If You Change Your Mind."
I had lost a high school sweet heart back then, and it seemed every one of Eric's words resonated with the feelings I was going through. After Eric left the band for his solo career in the late 1970s, I believe it was the Summer of 1975, I saw the remaining band with Wally Bryson on lead guitar, doing a show at the Hilton High School gymnasium in Hilton, NY. The Raspberries were Great with Eric and Eric had many hits alone and it was great they re-united in the later years to do great shows together again. Thanks Eric, Thanks Raspberries for Great memories... ♥✝🙏

I was invited by a DJ friend back 1988 to the Dirty Dancing tour which featured Eric Carmen. I was a Raspberries fan and bought every Eric Carmen solo record he had released. He's the primary reason I wanted to go. Unfortunately Eric Carmen backed out of the show I attended because of an illness. I can't begin to tell you how disappointed I was. This is a great song.
Pretty impressed. Most artists sound waaaay ( off key ) different from the original recording. Great song to hear live.

Amazing performance. Most singers let the crow sing the chorus, but I loved that Mr. Eric Carmen did it himself, showing everybody that he has the pipes to do the whole song.

Always loved this song (only heard it a few times over the years, but always remembered it here and there wondering who it was), but never realized it was Eric Carmen until Googling it today after hearing the lyrics clearly in a restaurant to do so, since his voice was lower than normal in this song. Great to find it here, and what a performance! Thanks a mundo. One of his great overlooked tunes with the Raspberries was Let's Pretend, worth a listen, great tune.

when i was 5 or 6 the song we built this city was popular by jefferson starship I asked my mom to get me that record, instead she got me eric carmens greatest hits because i didn't explain the song good she thought it was this one. I never did get that jefferson starship record......but i've loved Eric Carmens songs ever since :) i am 32 now and my wife hates my music lol

He was the only one of the Raspberries to have success after they split. The did get back together for a few years between 05-07 I'm an original Raspberries fan, but I didn't get to see them on the reunion tour. But I have it on DVD.
