  • Dave got an itchy trigger finger and pulled the pin on another cheap Ducati, but will it lead to profit or will it be a nightmare in a pretty red dress?
In episode one Dave strips the 749 and uncovers what he's really bought

Yes Dave! Your 748 series kept me from losing my mind during lockdown, and is part of the reason why I now own a 996. Hope to see you again at Rapid track days next year 🙏

Polar white base with ford cardinal red from duplicolor matches the factory paint very well. My 749 has mega upgrades and mega hours of cleaning and is now monoposto with fullsix carbon fiber seat cowl. Nice bikes!

Terblanche brilliance. Had an 749s and now a 1098s and the amount of screws to remove the fairing on the 1098s compared to the 749 is just ridiculous. A bit more punch though! 😆

Buzzing to see this series. I too, like everyone else here, just love watching you work. I dont think any of us would mind feature-legth edits of the whole process. Watching you carry out your work is just as Zen as doing it myself, and that isn't the same when it comes to anyone else, even though others still make for enjoyable viewing.

Haaaaang about.... rewind to last round of BSB, and we were chatting at Paddock Hill about a 749R I was about to buy.... then a 749 magically appears on the channel!!! Can i claim an influencer fee on any YT revenues?! 😂😂
Just kidding, was great meeting you and Franco after his double in the junior s/stocks. As it happens, my 749R didn't happen (the dealer i mentioned went back on the deal where BSD were going to service it). Soooo.... very much like you, I bought a 999 Bip last weekend, a mk2 from a forum member; 14k miles with a very large servicing receipt just completed. A few cosmetic bits to do, and a fairing-off detail, but nothing major. Can't wait to ride it, bloody weather.....grrr.
Thanks for the content Dave, very much enjoying it and maybe bump into you at Brands next season (good luck Franco!)

A piece of advice, have a stud remover handy to remove the key/steering lock. This will help when it comes time to remove and install the airbox. You will appreciate once you find this out, trust me, there is no space to both rotate and slip the airbox in the same motion. V
Best of luck, I'm almost done with my 999, and 749s tack bike is next

@@obsession_engineering agreed, along with the alternative fuel cap, other than that they are one of the last great analogue bikes, simple enough with the best chassis of that generation, with adjustable footrest mounts, pedals, and steering angle. Enjoy and I'll be doing the same watching your progress🍿📽😛

11,200 miles? that rad looked suspiciously higher in mileage?. Not sure if the dash/ECU has been reset as they are prone to wiping off the mileage if its not kept charged. Bloody good bike though and seriously undervalued in my opinion.

Coincidentally i have also been looking to buy a 748 or 749 and yours is on my watch list and I hadn't noticed the seller. I think the asking is fair considering it comes fully serviced and sorted. Tempting. Is 15 bikes too many? Reminds me of the old question, how many bikes does a man need?
