I grew up quite poor and had very limited toys.
One day after playing outside I noticed ( what i now realize )is MM escape from skull mountain in the trash.
When I opened it up I was blow away,
I played for hours in that mountain
Wish I still had it
As a kid I never noticed how creepy and scary some of the play sets are but now I do
They really are! Maybe why they are not made today
Omg the sensations when you opened the shark... I used to have a few more from first series, like the hand and the snake... back in 96 97 or something like that. Wow... the memories
I was recovering from a liver transplant when I was 11 and one of my nurses bought me the mountain and the big and little lava dude. It was the coolest thing ever.
I didn't have any of the toys as a kid, but I watched the cartoon show every weekday. One of my favorite cartoon series of all time. About 10 years ago, I started collecting the toys.
Great line to collect!
I actually buried 90% of my mighty max toys i had damn near all of them.
It was my 13th birthday, and everyone was tired of knowng i still played with toys. If id known how friggin rare these turned out im in conplete nostalgia
Wish I hasn't been so rough with my toys as a kid. These were awesome
Love Mighty Max! Enjoyed this fantastic video! 😉😉😉😉👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Glad you enjoyed. Thanks for watching, really appreciate it more in the way!
Thanks so much for this video! I'd completely forgotten about these sets. I loved them as a kid and now I'm nostalgic for them. Great video - informative, interesting and with clear and comprehensive photos and videos of the toys.
I still have loads of mine, Bluebird even started a Dr Who range releasing a Dalek set, shame they never continued
Great vid mate! Love the Might Max show and sets. Great memories with these being a kid and fun to collect for now.
Same here! Really wanted something cool like mighty max to start off the series. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the great video. These were great toys to get at toysrus around 1993
Yeah definitely! Thanks for watching
Damn these were awesome had so many as a kid!! The snake was my favorite one :D
I had that, the skull was mine. Now I like the hand!
Top video mate! I never had Mighty Max as a kid (I think I was blinded by wrestling at that stage), but I have a massive appreciation for the line these days as a collector. In my opinion the creativity and ingenuity that went into Mighty Max makes it a hugely underrated toy line, combine that with the awesome comic backstories on the card backs and the cartoon series that still holds up pretty well to this day, and you have something truly special in Mighty Max.
Kind of the same for me! Blinded by wrestling! Still am but appericate these so much!
Awesome!! Really enjoyed this.
Do Manta Force next! 😬
Great suggestion!
Crikey! I forgot about Manta force! I know I have the main white ship (copy of millennium falcon) the ground site/fortress and the Red Venom plane! All in my storage unit lol!
Great content
Thank you, thanks for watching and supporting!
Loved Mighty Max! Named my rabbit after Norman! The volcano play set was brilliant.
Haha, thats great! yes it was a cool playset, I've got one but its only a shell, no pieces, one day il complete it.
Amazing review!! Great job. Liked, commented and subscribed.
Awesome, thank you!
Great video!! Really well put together and edited! Nice work. 👍
Thank you! That means alot! Thanks for watching.
Nice video... I remember these
Classic
I'm getting some great nostalgia vibes. Great times. Btw awesome video 👍🔥😀
Thanks for the visit! Thanks for watching, really appericate it! That's why I do it!
I remember having 5 sets in total before moving on to some other toy series, and think I still have them somewhere at my parents place. I would hold these sets as a good example of how toy sets have evolved over the last 20-30 years. If you look at these MM playsets, they have so many moving parts, the plastic molds had a great amount of detail, they are many painted details (in contrast to today's monochrome plastic parts), they held many small stickers to add character, they each contained 3 figures so you could actually imagine many different little stories unfolding in front of you. If I look at my 5 yo daughter's toys today, they leave me wanting in many of these afore mentioned areas, sadly. Less moving parts, no painted details, just one or 2 large stickers (which you have to affix to the plastic yourself btw), all quite mono-chrome. You can really tell the priority was to reduce costs as much as possible, and not necessarily to create a truly inspiring toy.
It's all cost now, back then they experimented alot more and we're not afraid! Such a shame for the kids
I just found your channel and I'm enjoying it! I particularly enjoy your Toy History segments. The only problem is: there isn't very many episodes 😞... The toy hunting stuff is cool, particularly because it's in the UK and I'm from the US, but I really really like the history stuff. Thanks man! 🤟
Thanks! I've only just started them, making more as we speak. They take a while but will be worth it. Appreciate the view!
@@toyscavenger Oh awesome!!! I'm looking forward to it ☺️
I bought a load off my brother in law. Some complete and some I need to find one or two bits for. Getting my hands on them made me so happy.
brilliant, its a hard journey finding the bits but take your time and I'm sure you will!
Great video 👍👍
Thanks for the visit! Appreciate it
Love it mate. Got a full set of complete dread heads!
Thanks for watching mate! I've really come to like Mighty Max a lot more recently than I did a while back. they are so cool and look great on display once done right. I had them in my recent video for Reissues as well!
Love this line. 😀
its so underrated! thanks for watching
The sad part was he was very easy to lose
yeah all the time he would go do the back of the sofa for me, thanks for watching
2:11 I had that space ship and the rattlesnake with the mummy and scorpion inside
I had the skull mountain, one of the best toys I ever owned, I belive I still have it somewhere but I'd say the figures are long gone
Long lost down the sofa! thanks for watching!
I had the hand, loved it.
Absolutely loved Mighty Max as a kid, great toy line
its really fun, nothing really like it any more, considering how many other companies jumped on the trend all that time ago. thanks for watching!
@@toyscavenger how old you first started like figure toys ?
Great video 👍 I picked up some sets from you at the weekend for my expanding collection, my fave doom zone has to be lashes lizard
That is awesome! thanks again! really appreciate it.
Very good ❤
Thanks , got more in the way!
Yeeees! I still have the snake and spider doomzone and also the horror head bat and dino ones, all complete thanks to my mom haha! Mighty Max is my fav, I wonder if these kind of pocket toys release with today engineering it will be a very fun toys!
i think they would! but not sure kids would like them now, maybe they would, wish the toy company's brought some back!
I used to buy Polly Pocket for my nieces and MM for my boys - wonder if they ever thought about a cross-over?!?!? Think I need to have a sort through the garage........
I had the Wolf Spaceship and the Graveyard hand. I never knew there was those giant play sets that got released.
The funny thing is the bigger sets, are sometimes cheaper than the small sets! all of them are still great. thanks for watching!
@@toyscavenger I only remember a few of the early sets. This was also back being a kid and pre-internet days haha
I HAD THAT WATCH!!!!
Got all 3 series of Doom Zones complete. Some were very expensive to get. And even owning a complete Skull Master Mega Head. Still need a few to complete my Mighty Max collection. But the ones i'm missing are quite expensive!
They are jumping up quite quick in price! Good luck in the search! Thanks for watching!
Bro this toyline was my childhood! Back in 1994 I got the Skull Master mega head playset as a christmas gift, and it was instantly one of my favourite toys ever. It has so many great n gross little details in it. I also got the zombie hand playset, which was probably my second favourite of the toyline. I've managed to keep the Skull Master set intact and safe all these years, though it is missing the projectile, which unsurprisingly is very difficult to replace these days.
You pick 2 of my favs too! 😍
i still have the mighty max vs evil spaceship set but a recolor? my aliens, ship wings and miniship are green not grey. thanks for recalling memories great video! please make more!
Will Do! thanks for watching, thats a European Variant. looks better i think.
I think you missed a few, a series of 3 sets, cyclops was one, the dinosaur head, the scorpion, and maybe 2 more i didnt see here
After watching this, I might get some of those sets that really gets my attention, especially Magus and Jaws of Doom sets
The Jaws of Doom is 100% one of the best! Thanks for watching
I was just a wee bit too old for these as a kid but i've collected several as an adult including the very strange one where Max fights giant parasites and a monstrously fat Baron Harkonen type inside the guts of his pet lizard. Some of these sets are like a fever dream.
Haha they really are! The designers must of had so much fun. Thanks for watching! Appreciate it.
That scorpion tail looked sus.
It's crazy how many I have and how many I don't have
cool stuff, we just got a load more in stock
Excellent
I still got my prototype zombie hand
I have the skull in my dresser drawer right now! Still have the doctor and Frankenstein but not max :(
I remember the snake too. If i remember correctly could connect a bridge from the mouth of the snake
That's correct
That video went just a little too fast. I didn't get to appreciate the details on a lot of those sets, they're shown so quickly before moving on.
Also, I forgot that I had the ice themed set from McDonalds. It was an odd curiosity.
video quality so high I can almost taste them
Yum yum! 😋 thanks for watching, really appreciate it! 🙏
I had the mighty max video game on sega genesis.
Awesome game! 👌
I loved the cartoon, But not the toys and I think I had the ones from the happy meals only.
There was a Star Wars version of mighty max. Same concept but no max. Can you review those?
Yeah they were cool! I don't have any of them yet so maybe one day!
Never seen the mini wolverine head playset
As soon as I saw it I had to get it!
hi
Hi! Thanks for dropping by!
Why did they stop making them?😢
Lose of interest, but everyone loves them today!
where's the mighty max with triceratops
Didn't film that one, but had it at the time, sold it now tho
one of my biggest regrets is letting my mighty max collection go. I think i had just about all of these except the the mcdonalds exlusives and the watches.
I'm a bit in 2 minds also about selling mine, half's gone but keeping the rest!
@@toyscavenger don't do it. just keep them. these things are time capsules.
