    • @ForwardMomentum
      @ForwardMomentum  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It could be so many things. First thing I would do is a thorough check of the entire intake system and all vacuum hoses. Buy an OBD scanner and data logger like the Veepeak WiFi adapter. Run the Car Scanner Pro app and check your fuel trims. I’ll be filming a fuel pump video next. It could be that for you, but definitely narrow it down first.

    • @ForwardMomentum
      @ForwardMomentum  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Double check if you ran the catch can out line before or after the throttle body. It should be attached before the throttle body (closer to the air filter).

  • @875daily
    @875daily 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    thanks for the video Christian. I guess i don’t need a thermostatic module here in FL? So if i’m not going to use the thermo module then i tap the line first that was dripping and run it to the Top connection of the cooler and where would the bottom connection of the cooler go too? thanks.

    • @ForwardMomentum
      @ForwardMomentum  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Np. I guess it depends on your low temps in winter and if you will ever take the car anywhere cold. A lot of people run a cooler with no thermostatic valve at all. If you do, you would run that soft line out of the OEM radiator to the cooler by using a barbed 3/8 coupling (that package I only used the hose clamps out of is perfect) and 3/8 hose. Then cooler out back to trans by attaching to that hardline. Same as my vid shows.

    • @ForwardMomentum
      @ForwardMomentum  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      BTW, that package of hose clamps and 3/8 coupler was $2.49 at my local Harbor Freight.

    • @875daily
      @875daily 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Forward Momentum. thanks. I don’t think i’ll use the thermostatic valve. I’m just confused on where the line coming to the stock cooler goes? Then the top external cooler line goes back into tranny (the one you pulled first that was leaking). sorry for the noob questions.

    • @ForwardMomentum
      @ForwardMomentum  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I understand. I had to draw it out, LOL. So just concentrate on the same line I unplugged in the vid. The line on the left, which feeds the OEM cooler just stays in place. Disconnect OEM soft return line from its hardline connection. Fluid will spill out. Add a coupler to that OEM soft line and more 3/8 hose. Run that to the top of the new cooler. Connect more new 3/8 hose to the new cooler on the bottom (out) fitting. Run that all the back to that original hardline you disconnected from. Hose clamp everything. That’s it!

    Does it matter which way you mount any trans cooler? Looking at mishimoto options

    • @ForwardMomentum
      @ForwardMomentum  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you’re asking if there’s a “front” and “back” no, it doesn’t matter. However, there’s an “IN” and “OUT” for the lines.

    • @InverseGrill
      @InverseGrill 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ForwardMomentum ok and one last question how much fluid did you put back in? Did you prefill the trans cooler? Or just fill the trans with fluid

    • @ForwardMomentum
      @ForwardMomentum  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s really up to you on how you want to do it. It’s pretty tough to fill the cooler unless you have a good way to hold the fluid in (assuming you can even get it in there). That said, note the capacity and line capacity and add ATF accordingly. When you start up the car, let it run for a bit so it cycles the fluid. I personally would add the fluid after just to keep the mess down.

    • @luisvina2848
      @luisvina2848 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't know, every time I change my oil I take the oil out of the catch can and it has a good amount, if it's working for you that way, then leave it. I have turbo car's I wouldn't want nothing back going to my throttle body, Cause that oil goes in through the heads and you accumulate oil in your Valves.

    • @ForwardMomentum
      @ForwardMomentum  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I hear you. But that’s exactly why I did this mod. The baffle plate collects and drops the oil and contaminate-free “air” goes back into the intake. This is beneficial because the octane value is raised. I’ll keep an eye on my TB and see if anything gets on there. So far so good - this method is working well.
