Thank you for such a great review as you have helped me make up my mind to buy one. After wasting £20 on a hand shredder which arrived earlier this week it broke before I’d shredded two carrots! Having spinal problems and having dexterity problems chopping can now be a bit of a task so after spending all last night looking at various machines this looks spot on. Thanks again.
Thank you so much I just purchased mine and I actually got it on sale for 52 dollars I didn't know how to use this this processor you have helped me so much thank you so much
When your putting in lose leaves of lettuce or cabbage (especially lettuce as it's flimsier), you can't just put a small piece of leaf, you have to put in enough so the blade will have enough bulk to slice. I didn't have this brand, but mind also use to get lettuce pieces stuck between the lid and the blades.
I think I would use a wedge of lettuce and use the slicer. I have a 40-year-old Cuisinart food processor and have never tried lettuce. I think the slicer may work better.
Hi Joan, I completely agree, a slicer would work better. The box showed cabbage, so I thought, hey lettuce is similar (I know, I know bad move) and it showed haha, but the machine is really nice for chopping, and especially shredding cheese.
@@NightTimeMommyReviews Yes, slicer disc, definitely. And, I never turn the processor ON until my food is in the shoot and I have the cup inserted and resting on top of the food... THEN turn on the processor. But, hey, my dad taught me back in the '80s on a WARING. It's a basic safety thing... never have an accessible opening where there is a fast rotating blade if avoidable. If you hold the pulse button down it will pulse itself. No need to let go of the button and then press again to get 4 or how-ever-many pulses... just hold. I know you weren't yet familiar with how fast you may arrive at your desired texture.
I did, however when I went back to purchase it for my mom, it seems they are no longer being sold at kohls. Its a bit odd because I thought it was such a great deal.
can it very very finely chop items? Im thinking of making pesto sauce, meaning they need mushy with olive oil. meaning my garlic needs to be super fine, my nuts needs to be super "dusty", cheese needs to be in "grated" fine, and basil needs to be in teetsy tiny bits.
Thank you so much for this!! I spent so much time cutting up tomatoes for canning yesterday and have spaghetti sauce to make today…this will save so much time!
One thing to note: Your pulses weren't even (length of time pressing the button). Not meaning to nit pick, just thinking it would have made a difference (there is an automatic three pulse button on the far left as well).
I bought one of these to chop/mince vegetables and it doesn’t work the way I need it too. I will return it and get kitchen aid attachment for chopping.
WOW! The price has really gone UP!! As of this date (Feb 14, 2022) I can't find one for under $150!! UPDATE to comment: The model I had looked at came with 3 cutting discs, not just 1, thus the price difference.
I love the way you described out. Clear and understandable. What sold me was the cheese. It sounded really quiet on the video. Is it that quiet? That it's one thing that bothers me they are so loud when using some brands.
No it doesn’t, I tried grinding dry spices it didn’t grind it at all, it’s good for wet stuff not dry ones. I tried grinding dry peanuts it did a decent job, got a coarse powder
Saludos, dónde consigo el disco para la masa de pasteles y alcapurrias tengo la ninja food processor 1000 esa misma qué usted tiene envíame el link por favor gracias
I was just about to buy the cheese grater attachment for my Kitchenaid mixer, but the onion chopping and cheese grating sold me lol. Using your link now to go purchase! Thank you!
Just bought one for the wife first thing we used it for were smoothies and ice coffee we used the blades not the dough mixer head blending isnt a problem.
I watched your video. Good useful information. I agree with you on the cheese… would be life changing and also cost saving since block cheese is always less expensive than pre-shredded.
Yo estaba muy emocionada a comprarla pero los comentarios dicen q se descomponen muy rápido como a los 6 meses..... Y no salen baratas y diferentes comentarios. Y luego en México no hay donde mandarlas a reparar creo q son desechables. Y eso me preocupa xq si me voy a quedar muy rápido sin licuadora y donde labllebo
My husband just bought me this for my birthday! I've made butternut squash soup and cookies so far, LOVE IT!! Thanks for the demo, the shredded cheese does look amazing lol
Apart from the lettuce, everything seems to work well.. i think the brittle thickness of the lettuce isn't suited for the processor or perhaps putting in more of them at the same time could work better.
After looking for years I just ordered one this morning. Thank you for your awesome review. My husband also thanks you because he is my cheese shredder! He can save his time and energy now. 😝
Hi. Nice first time demo. For soft things like lettuce, the chopper blade might have done a better job than disc blade. Cabbage shreds well with disc, so does carrots for sale n cake. I wish they had added a French fry disc. I hope you have a safe n HAPPY NEW YEAR 2021 !! Peace to you and yours
Bought one today and Just cut my finger on the slicer disk argh! And I was being quite careful ! Obviously not that careful ha! Chopped my onions soooo quick and my peppers. My cheese didnt grate properly so I must of done something wrong… maybe it was the cheese ha! Tomorrow is another day and I will be trying a few more things. Thankyou for this video
Bit of a cheat really, as only demonstrated fairly soft produce, therefore success. Someone should make a demo that actually shreds and slices potatoes, butternut squash, etc
I'm really glad I found this review. If I hadn't I'd have died without ever believing there is someone in the world stupid enough to shred iceberg lettuce using a food mixer. Thank you for that.

I use the slicer for lettuce to get long shredded looking lettuce, the shredder just makes a mess of it.

Hey Thanks for the demo. Can this be used to grate hard stuff like carrots? Do you know if we could make nut butters with this ?
3 years later lol yes, fo sho just got this first thing i made was peanut butter
If you want to get the lettuce in strips, I would advice you use the slicing disc rather than the grating disc.
🤣🤣🤣
Yup I'm sold off the cheese and onion. Just hit buy on kohl's, thanks for review.

lol truth
I want to ask… I saw the chopped onion. Have you ever done chopped celery? The sage stuffing I make calls for 2.5 cups total chopped celery and onion.

Hi, is this can be used to mince beef or chicken?
Thank you! Can it be used for meat grinding?
Use the slicer for the lettuce instead of the shredder
Fantastic review of the basic functions! But... how does it do with slicing tomatoes and onions? Thank you so much for the great review!
Did you Get it at Kohls? I tried to find it on the website but couldn’t find it
I did, however when I went back to purchase it for my mom, it seems they are no longer being sold at kohls. Its a bit odd because I thought it was such a great deal.
its on amazon. the product name is Ninja BN601
Bend Bath & beyond has the deluxe model BN602 with more discs and a disc holder, with 20% off coupon, I got mine for $103.99 SKU 69593531

really useful to see how it can handle different foods
Is there more blade this this food processor?
Thank you so much for this!! I spent so much time cutting up tomatoes for canning yesterday and have spaghetti sauce to make today…this will save so much time!
And also; were you slicing or grating the lettuce?
Hi! If you grind meat. Does the meat get stuck inside the tube under the blade?

Hello
From where can I get the adapter for the slicing blade? I don’t have that part.

It can produce carrot juice for example?

Does it dry grind like nuts, spices and stuff?

I just this Ninja pro. 9 cup food processor from HSN for $59.99 before S/H n taxes! Thank You for sharing this review with us!
I was just about to buy the cheese grater attachment for my Kitchenaid mixer, but the onion chopping and cheese grating sold me lol. Using your link now to go purchase! Thank you!
You are supposed to place the food inside the feed tube BEFORE you turn the unit on.
Thank yoU! Question tho could this double as a blender?
Just bought one for the wife first thing we used it for were smoothies and ice coffee we used the blades not the dough mixer head blending isnt a problem.
FYI blades on this and blender are sharp. Already ended with stitches
Shoot just got mind. Thanks for the tip
I watched your video. Good useful information. I agree with you on the cheese… would be life changing and also cost saving since block cheese is always less expensive than pre-shredded.
Can you make smoothies with this one as well?
First thing we made in ours were smoothies and ice coffee.

Can it cut a potato for fries?
My husband just bought me this for my birthday! I've made butternut squash soup and cookies so far, LOVE IT!! Thanks for the demo, the shredded cheese does look amazing lol
I didn't know what adapter was for. Thanks
Apart from the lettuce, everything seems to work well.. i think the brittle thickness of the lettuce isn't suited for the processor or perhaps putting in more of them at the same time could work better.
Could it be the mode the thing is set to?
Have you tried dicing nuts - such as almonds?
We used the sharp blades with the pulse action and it diced nuts without a problem.
Loved your video. Does this dice cooked meat?
After looking for years I just ordered one this morning. Thank you for your awesome review. My husband also thanks you because he is my cheese shredder! He can save his time and energy now. 😝
Have you ever shown how it slices tomatoes? Like, how you sliced the cucumbers? I'm wondering if you can get some nice tomato slices that way.
Hi Angel, I don't believe it is possible with this machine as the food processor chute is a bit thin
@@NightTimeMommyReviews It looked like some Roma tomatoes would fit, but okay. Thanx.
I tried it just cut tomatoes in half so they fit into the chute, came out alright for me,.
@@angelnajera5107 I was thinking medium sized Roma's would be the go with this thing.
Which model number are you using in this video?
Does it shredd garlic into a paste?
Do you think I can do away without the blender?
Can this do most of the things a blender traditionally do?
Can you grind soaked rice ?

Is this bowl compatible with auto iq duo blender motor?
Had no idea one of these things could shred cheese - cool! Great vid!
OK that cheese shredding at 8:13 was seriously impressive I wasnt expecting it to take such a short time to shred all that cheese.
Can somebody tells me it can chop meat as well or not?
It can make em ground meat
@@nomad155 how about shred chicken?

Can use meat grinder?
Is bowl from glass?
Thanks for the video Can you do chopping similar to fine dicing consistency with Ninja?
Help, can I put meet inside?
I want to try making homemade peanut butter this looks awesome to do it 👍🏻👍🏻
Good Video, but I don't think I'll be using it for shredding lettuce, easier to just cut it
Does it work for dry grinding???
Hi someone suggested slicer for the lettuce not the shredder just a thought.
Michelle
Thank you Michelle, I will try it out :)
My one doesn’t work, it keeps flashing all the buttons, anyone knows what am doing wrong???
Thank you so much! Just bought this product and it was mainly for the cheese as well!
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching :)
I like to see the demo on the carrot and potato.
Thank you Mommy! just got it today! its working so so well!
Your review was very good. My Ninja is ready for me to pick up at Kohls.
Thanks for the demo, should have done cabbage instead of lettuce
Bit of a cheat really, as only demonstrated fairly soft produce, therefore success. Someone should make a demo that actually shreds and slices potatoes, butternut squash, etc
t mixes bread dough and pie & crumb crust... but not big enough
Thank you for demos.
First time using- lights come on press purée all lights stay on and nothing happens- press pulse nothing happens
Can it blend beans?
Thank you! I just bought mine today 😊
I can never get it put together right. The lights flash
Great review!!!! I’ll definitely be getting one this week!!!😎🤙
can it handle raw meat?
Can it purée?????????
Great Tutorial!!!
Thank You!
Thanks. I just got mine today. I always buy direct from Ninja because of their excellent customer service
Thank you! Very helpful.
can you julienne carrots with it
can you make shakes also in this?
Shakes are pretty easy for any food processor to be honest.
@@shadowbanned5164 ya… bought this an year back… and it’s pretty good…🙂
@@varshneyjharna Just got the wife one this week and have been playing with it glad to hear yours is still going after a year.
How much is it
This might be a dumb question, but where do you store all the components after using the food processor? Do you buy a box for it?
I put mine in a cabinet.
Great demo. Thank you for this.
