Top 5 Fish for 55 Gallon Saltwater Tank

I get so many comments on what fish I should put in a certain gallon tank, so why not begin a series on it? We have made it to the 55 gallon tank.

Orchid dottyback would be a better choice than the black cap. They look really similar but the dotty back is like half the price. If you want a puffer in a reef tank you should try a green spot too!

I got a black cap for my 55 cube. Lovely fish and comes out quite a lot. The most expensive fish I have at £65.

It’s a 70/30 chance with hawk fish, most people get one that wont hurt a fly and others can get ones that eat everything. If you want one get it last and at a small size.

How many fish in total would u recommended for a 55 gallon ?? I have a fish only ( for now ) and I have 9

Depends on your filtration and what size fish you want, with basic dry rock and a hob filter probably 9-11. With real live rock and a 30 gallon sump you could have 10-15 depending on what type of fish you have.
