Chrysler did it already and recalled them in the 2019 and 2020 Ram heavy duty trucks with the Cummins.Took them off and replaced them with the CP3 injection pumps
What a crock. Leave it to attorneys and a huge corporation to exclude the other 43 states. I do not qualify, nor do I have the means to do the pump conversion on my own dime. Good content, brother. Keep it up!
It makes me wonder about Ford that has been using the CP4 since 2011 and continues to on all the 6.7 Powerstrokes. They may have a lift pump where GM did not but the CP4 is none the less destined to fail with an inherent design flaw. Ford should be very concerned.
I bought mine used from a private owner so I am also ineligible to receive compensation, but I am going to file an objection to the settlement agreement and I reccomend that you all do the same. Maybe it will make a difference.
I have a 2016 GMC 2500 Denali with 353k miles on it. I use it for RV transport and so most of it is highway mileage. At 332k miles my cp4 went bad. Took it to a GM dealer and they replaced it with a new cp4 pump, but did not do fuel system or injectors as they told me there was no metal in the system. This happened this past July 2024. Cost out for the work came to $4k. Fast forward to the end of September and the truck hit 353k miles and the cp4 pump went bad again. Just a little over 20k miles on the new pump. This time the pump grenaded. Metal all through the lines, injectors, and fuel system. Of course the work that was just done would be under warranty…..you would think. Took truck to the same GM dealer that did the work back in July and was told that the cp4 pump went bad again. The only problem…..they would not warranty anything beyond the pump. I was told it would cost $7k to do this repair. The dealer would not even submit paperwork for the warranty because of the failure and I was told that it was not covered. The truck did not stay there and I ended up having it towed to another local diesel shop and they are doing a Cp3 conversion along with the disaster kit, also having it tuned and deleted, full 5 inch exhaust, also adding down pipe and lb7 up pipe and a lift pump. Cost for this comes to $11k, but this time being done correctly. Unfortunately I am from Indiana and not under this lawsuit so everything is out of my pocket. For all those that have an lml Duramax……. Get a cp3 conversion asap. Even if it has low mileage, that cp4 will fail eventually. Save yourself thousands of dollars now rather than spending all your hard earned money later. GM knows they have bad pumps installed on these trucks and don’t want to pay for the problems.
I’m in Pa, got the postcard last week. 16’ Denali.. I submitted my info, waiting to hear back. Will let you know. Got my truck at 40k and did a 165 lift pump and “other stuff” including pump saver at 100k. Use fuel additive every fill. 181k so far so good. Should be reimbursed for the stress and all the premeditated maintenance bs I spent.
Have a 2016 Chev 2500HD with the effected 6.6 that I bought new in AZ. That being said my truck doesn't qualify. But I was pro active I installed a lift pump and used additives every fill up. When the truck was finally out of the extended warranty at around 40,000 miles I decided that the fear of total failure was to much as I use it to pull our 34ft. 5th wheel. Being a retired aircraft mechanic I decided to do the CP 3 conversion. I bought the Fleece kit and spent 10 days in my garage doing the conversion. I've put close to 3000 miles on it since then and I can say I'm extremely happy that I did the conversion. Shame on GM for sticking it to so many of their loyal customers. Several GM dealers have contacted me to see if I'm ready to upgrade, my usual response is not a chance, GM has lost another customer.
I believe this will expand to all of the affected trucks, as it should, iregardless if yours has not exploded yet or whom you bought it from. Such pure chicanery!!! I purchased my 2011 two years ago from a private owner. I have not had any issues. I did install the air dog pump and it only has 64k miles, so hopefully I am good, but it sure would be nice to have the bonus cash to perform the cp3 conversion!!
Had mine go out in my ‘15 LML at 120k. But I’m in Idaho, so no settlement… I went with the CP3 conversion when the mechanic did the repair… She’s been running like a champ since.
What about all the fords and whatever other trucks using the CP4? If you don't think the settlement is fair you can opt out and start your own case for a different settlement amount.
my 2014 f250 I just purchased less than a year ago is currently in the shop for cp4 failure I am putting a dcr conversion in the shop wanted 12,585 to replace with another cp4 so the grand total for the repair is 16k I had only put 17k miles on the truck before I found metal in the fuel system warranty company fought tooth and nail but ended up paying majority of the bill no contamination was found
I bought my 2008 LMM in 2014, with a 100k on it( Wife wanted a bigger trailer.) Never owned a diesel, didn't know shit about them!! After about 5000 miles ran into a diesel mechanic that gave me the scoop and he deleted the DEF system. Installed an EFI live, put it on number 2 Increased my fuel mileage running empty from 17 to 22. Put a fast fuel system on and I religiously running fuel additive every tank. Kept the stock fuel filter. Change it every 5000 with oil change and changing the fast fuel filters every 15.k Looked into spending 80K on a new one. No freakin way mine is paid off. Will let her ride !! Thank you for your knowledge and information.
Again, sorry for my ignorance with diesels. I Meant a DPF system. Delete. I wish I would have had the money to do E. G. R, delete, but I didn't.@lmtada
Good info as always, I fill up at truck stops during my road trips but when at home I fill up at Smiths fuel stations, I've never had water in my lift pump filters and with my rewards points I sometimes save $1 off per gallon up to 35 gallons so I save some cash filling up my S&B 62 gallon fuel tank, I also treat every fuel fill up with Hot Shots EDT for my LBZ with the CP3, I also watched a cool video where the owner from S&S Diesel talked about fuel filter changes and he said its better to go to or over the recommended service intervals on fuel filter because the larger voids in the filter media get plugged with contaminants and you in turn get cleaner fuel through the smaller voids in the media, I personally have a Glow Shift fuel pressure gauge that they make for under hood application installed on my fuel feed side from my lift pump, EDGE makes a pressure sensor but its not in my budget yet, my lift pump puts out 8psi on new filters, when it reads 5psi I change my lift pump filters, I average 12K to 15K miles between filter changed and I drain my water separator filter every 5K miles when I do my oil changes, my primary fuel filter is deleted and I rely on just my lift pump filters.
I owned a 2013 Chevy 2500HD with the LML Duramax I purchased new in 2014 and sold it in 2024. I do qualify for the settlement and submitted my paperwork as required although I never had a single issue with the engine related to the CP4 pump. Frankly, that truck ran great and other than routine maintenance the only problem I ever had was a bad DEF tank heater and "9th fuel injector" that were all replaced under warranty. I'm most likely due the amount from the "Former Owners Fund" ($400-800) but have no idea when I would receive anything. Oddly enough, I previously owned a 2004 Chevy 2500HD with the LB7 Duramax (last of the LB7s) and while GM did provide an extended warranty on those fuel injectors that were supposedly problematic, I never had an issue with that motor either (other than having to replace a water pump). I commuted with my trucks and towed my campers and trailers without any fuel-related problems ever. Guess I just got lucky? Does anyone know if they reformulate diesel fuel between summer/winter like they do gasoline? If so, perhaps I was never exposed to that since I live in Florida and we don't have to deal with any winter temperature extremes like up north.
2013 LML in Washington State so I do not qualify. I do my own maintenance and change fuel filter every other oil change (only use Rotella t-6 oil), have used diesel Kleen since day one with every tank refill, well over 200K, fingers crossed.
Change it to the cp3. I talked to a guy whose truck imploded. He had around 100k, mine had 275k. He said mine would have crashed if it was going to by now. At 312k it crashed. It is not if , it is certaily when. Swap it Now and you will have nothing to worry about. Just what I was told with my mileage, but a lie instead.
@@hamop3 I hear you. I plan on keeping my Duramax and have budgeted 15-20k, or more if inflation continues, to rebuild engine (better than new) and transmission (also better than new) when the time comes. Professionals will be doing the work, if I have to budget 5k for travel to get it done right I will.
Diesel Kleen is not great for lubrication, which is needed for CP4. OPTI-LUBE XL and Hot Shots is much better for lubricating. Check out recent fuel additive tests from Project Farm and Motor Oil Geek.
@@rsbreeze I watched that same video from Project Farm and did order Opti-Lube (I like the best) and quite frankly these diesels are expensive to operate you really do have to bite the bullet and spend the money.
@juice6459 I've got 11 years on my 2015 LML and used Opti-Lube XPD and XL for at least 10 years. Injectors and fuel pump still going strong. I also have an air dog fuel lift pump that puts positive pressure at the CP4.
I own two F350s. 2012 and 2017. I replaced both trucks cp4s proactively with the S&S Diesel DCR pump. Works great and no more worriers of cp4 grenade. Not sure if it will work in GM trucks.
I bought my new 2015 Silverado HD in Missouri so guess I'm not covered. Truck has 36K miles and I've used Stanadyne most all its life. I hope it holds up a few more years..... We sold our 5th wheel rv so it pulls nothing now.
Stanadyne is horrible for lubrication, which is needed for CP4. OPTI-LUBE XL and Hot Shots is much better for lubricating. Check out recent fuel additive tests from Project Farm and Motor Oil Geek.
darel: hate to tell you but testing showed Stanadyne not providing lubricity in ANY measurable content. See below vid with this glasses guy 'Lake' and additive testing. ArchOil showing best bang for your buck. Report back !
Glad that some people are being covered, but stinks for those of us who live in other states and paid to put a cp3 in and all the fuel components with it.
I guess I'm "lucky" with a 2008 GMC LMM. 1 time when traveling out of state with a new filter with very few miles, i got fuel from a truck stop and after just 20 or so gallons consumed I got the replace fuel filter message. I had another filter with me and replaced the other one, so for many years after I only get fuel at an Exxon in South Hill, VA (near interstate 85) with NO other fuel issues. I put fuel treatment every fill up and change the fuel filter once a year because the truck only runs 3000 to 5000 miles/year.
Cenex or Conoco amber color means no biomass.. If your local dealer hustles a lot of diesel with some biomass B10 definitely then use Archoil or Stanadyne W/lubricity..
I am in the class action suit. The payout is reduced by the number of claims. I have to provide documentation of the replacement. I bought from a GM dealer, sales receipt with the VIN and repair receipts that document the vehicle by VIN on the receipts. I don't look for a payout .. check in hand until about a year from now.
I have a Sunoco here I goto. Has 4 lanes of semi fuel there on the backside. They turn over fuel more, which theoretically might mean cleaner fuel as its not sitting for longer in the tanks. Currently we have a hurricane in FL, and ive seen a few posts of stations having water in their tanks and having trucks shut off... not ideal. Its also a huge plus with the higer GPH pumps those semi lanes have. Can fill up my 05 LLY faster than my wifes hyaundai at the "normie" pumps. lol. good video. will share with my duramax buddies.

I bought my GMC 2014 LML in Tennessee, used. It now lives in Australia, converted to RHD. I have as much chance as a one legged man in an ass kicking contest of seeing any money out of GM!
I did some research and am happy to say there is a lubricity standard that our Aussie diesel must meet. There are more diesel engines on the road here than gasoline engines.
@@markalvin3218 could always run some diesel fuel additives to be safe. Our Canadian lml duramaxs don't really have many cp4 issues. Our Canadian diesel fuel standards are good enough not as good as Europe's but good.
@@drewmax-kl4oy Interesting to hear the CP4 units run in Canada don't have issues. I use Fuel Doctor additive to help lubricity. No need for winter diesel here in Australia, so hopefully consistent fuel type might also help the poor CP4.
I bought my lml dually new from a dealer in 2011 in California. Still on original CP4 but with only 46k miles. Scared as hell to drive it. It just sits in the garage. it has the fuel saver, air dog 2g, deleted, and kory tunes on a autotunes that I can monitor fuel pressures on my head unit. Change fuel filters every oil change, and add stanadyne lubricant additive on every full tank. I think i'm going to just do a cp3 conversion
Coworker of mine doesn’t qualify because he’s got 250k on his truck. I’ll be honest, I’m a GM fan boy and I’m extremely disappointed in GM. My wife has a 15 Kia. Bought used with 90k. Engine blew @ 112k. Come to find out there was a class action lawsuit for this. Kia replaced it free of charge. No questions asked. But GM can’t do the right thing and replace them all for everyone. Honestly, disgusts me. A foreign company doing more for Americans than the greedy swines of GM.
Ive got an lml with 380k+ stock cp4 still works great but the injectors are worn out wish they werent so expensive i do keep my oil changed and i have a lift pump on it but prolly didnt add that till at least 300k

so funny I still have my 2011 2500HD GMC SLT Xtra cab shortie all boxes checked options but not Denali. 220K on her now had it completely redone this year. I’ve had so much done to it. I can’t remember if this happened to me ha ha. I’ll check my receipts, but it doesn’t matter anyway because Maine is not on the list and I’m at 220 K miles.
Met all criteria other than the dealer we purchased from in Des Moines is just a small time dealer. I doubt they are considered gm authorized. Just crossed 80k miles, so hopefully, the damn thing lasts. The TCM repair was already a major pain that should've been a lawsuit too. Appreciate your videos and keeping us up to date.
I agree on the TCM. Mine failed while I was out sitting at a signal light. I thought someone rear ended me when it jerked and then the DIC lit up like a xMas tree with messages. I limped home. I thought for sure it burned up the Allison trans. It was hot as a blast furnace.
@@timw8228 I hear you there. Thought I shelled the rear end when I was merging onto the highway at 65 mph. Super loud and hard clunk!! GM treated us all like crap on that one. Thankfully I got rid of mine. Cheaper to upgrade to an L5P with better towing and more options. BUT... now the 10 speed is the big issue ! I hope they can figure something out with it, because as these trucks approach 100k, there's a large majority of people having issues.

Mine come up in the class suit but it just happened recently and everyone I call is booked up saying be about three months do I just get a quote to file instead of repair , only had 220,000 on engine 200,000 being hwy , literally paid it off then four months later gone
I qualify. I live in the country of California and purchased a 2016 GMC 2500 Sierra HD Denali 6.6L Diesel truck directly from the factory. Last week I received a card in the mail with my VIN stating the specific class action law suit related to the CP4 pump. I filled out the card and mailed it in. Since I no longer own the vehicle, when finally settled, I may receive monies between $400.00 & $800.00 . We shall see........
It appears as so i would qualify for 2 trucks thatbi own but work was not done at a dealer...... Ive bought a couple of pumps out of the 4 Gm's owned in that time period
@TruckMaster so im in Utah and Spent $12K when my '11 blew up and I'm not qualified. of course now i have a CP3 and 10% over injectors and an AirDog Also run Hotshots EDT
I had a 2015 GMC Denali in June it hydro locked and blew a head gasket. Brought it to the local Gm dealer it took them 6 weeks to tell me the engine was shot and needs a new long block and injection pump and replace the rest of the fuel system. The cause was a stuck injector and the was the some metal in the CP4 injection pump. I was quoted $24000.00 for a new long block I never got a quote for the injection pump and injectors. The truck only had 132,000 miles on it. I sold the truck to a junk yard. It was going to cost more to fix it then it was worth. Also I'm not in one of the states that this class action is for.
Even though my Truck came from Texas and was originally sold in Texas obviously from a dealer the dealer I got it from second hand was not an "Authorized GM reseller" and out of Kentucky so my CP4, injectors, Fuel rails and fuel lines replacement I did still looks like it is all on me.
You talked about water and diesel fuel in years past you had water and diesel fuel and kerosene because in the pipeline system, they used to put 1000 gallons of water when they were pumping diesel fuel and kerosene kerosene and diesel from mixing when it got to the loading racks They were to let the tank sit for 24 hours and all the water settle to the bottom and they drain the water out the bottom of the tank they don’t use nitrogen between the kerosene and the diesel when they’re pumping it and grace and peace
In the 90s, the American petroleum Institute made the conscious decision not to put lubricants in the diesel fuel. I don’t remember why but they actually made that decision because they had that conversation because of what was going on in your Europe, grace and peace.
I bought mine 2016 lml new in kansas but truck was drivin 330ish miles from a different location dealership fer my dealer to get me the truck now at 335k miles and only issue i had was the egr over pass tube blowin up in july of 2018 and turbo been sluggish on the throttle in 2022 to today with vanes stickin and highway speeds would go in limp mode and think my fass lift pump with cat filters in 2021 is whats savin my cp4 so far but still want to swap cp4 to cp3
When i go out of town i always get fuel at a truck stop because they constantly have fresh diesel being delivered. Here locally at my neighborhood gas station i get my fuel at the local BP where they have diesel fuel delivered on a weekly basis because dump trucks box trucks and bobtail commercial trucks gets fuel there everyday day....I never go to a mom and pops gas station because that fuel in the tanks may possibly have water in them from moisture being collected
I have 2 trucks , a 2011 and a 2016...lucky me. I do qualify as i live in and bought both vehicles in Texas! luckily iv'e had no failure, but both trucks have over a 100k miles. The 2016 has an Air Dog on it and i have been planning to do a CP3 conversion on the 2011 first and then later on the 16. I'm not sure my best avenue to approach this settlement. Thanks for the information and any advise would be appreciated!
Have seen some For Sale listings for Duramax that say "Manufactured after August 2014" or something like that? What is the deal? And do Cummins have CP4s? For what years?
I got a class action lawsuit mailer card. I’m halfway through your video. When reading the fine print on the card and going to the website to process a claim for this, and your highlight it states that you have to buy from a GMC authorized dealer. What does that mean exactly? I bought my 2015 LML truck in 2019 from a used car lot in California. I have a feeling that if you didn’t buy it brand brand new or used from a GM dealer your SOL your thoughts? I’ll be submitting a claim next week when I get my old credit card statement showing I paid for my CP three pump. my only issue I have is that I did this project when my truck was at the GMC dealer getting a new turbo under warranty. They pulled the cab. I spoke with the tech and made him a deal on the side that if he could throw in my CP3 pump along with a PPE exhaust system and downpipe. But I have no official receipt showing I paid labor. I only have the $2500 receipt for the buying the pump. If you wanna know more about my experience as it progresses, let me know.
I SPENT $10,200 LAST AUGUST WITH LARAMIE GM on a 16 LML...the link makes it sound like all trucks that had failures will eventually be covered, even if they're not covered by the initial class action settlement...at least by my reading.
Good to hear. Now GM needs to step up and address there 8 speed transmission problem with the will known torque converter shutter caused from a sticking valve in the valve body. There bull shit quick fix of changing the oil to a synthetic oil. At the owners expense even when I only had 58000km on my 2018 Silverado and had extended warranty. Might not be the place to rant however I want to make as much noise about this a possible.
I just had the cp4 pump go out on my 15 GMC don't qualify for the lawsuit live in Wisconsin I got lucky no metal in it I was told that because of Wisconsin running baio diesel it doesn't qualify
I haven't kept up with the newer duramax motors, did they continue to use the cp4 on the newer motors, does you '19 truck have the cp4 on it or did they go back to the cp3?
I have a 2014 GMC Sierra 3500 HD SRW that i tuned and deleted 18 months ago and installed a FASS Lift Pump at that time. I do change my fuel filter every oil change and FASS filters every other oil change. I also use Hot Shots Secret oil and fuel additives as directed by them and im at 188,000 miles. I qualify but of course no help in any kind of way for the upgrades that i have done as it is running still. No blow by and i had the metering valve checked and their is no metal in the CP4 . I,m going to run the LML and maintenance it still like i started 18 months ago.Treated fuel and frequent filter changes is key to making the LML last from what ive researched and i buy fuel at a reputable hometown pump station. I,ll give you a update if it doesn,t hold up. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated as im not a mechanic but i enjoy your knowledge , videos and wisdom! Thank you!
Makes sense that this is an issue with drivetrain when a Diesel engine is involved . First Diesel is probably towing heavier loads . Even if not the cause is still the same . Diesel is a much higher torque creator . It also runs much lower rpms across gears , except top gear ( Diesel usually takes more rpm to maintain highway speed ) . All these factors into how the same transmission is used with Diesel compared to Gas . If geared for fuel economy that adds even more stress to a Diesel driven transmission compared to gas . Because of torque the diesel puts to much pressure on valves with low rpm at lower speeds which rips on transmission. HIGH TORQUE , LOW RPM AND AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS just don't mix well .
This is crap. From Tennessee my 2011 LML blew up at 137,000 miles. I replaced it with a fleece conversion CP3. It was around a $9000 job but I found a diesel performance company to to the job for much less. Thank you Justin from Crimson Diesel . It blew up at the exact worse time! Driving my family home on Saturday night after visiting my deathly ill father. You may wonder why I was leaving my dying father. I had to deploy to Afghanistan on Monday. So my truck was stranded 2-1/2 hours away. I went back Sunday to troubleshoot. Metal shavings everywhere. Businesses are closed until Monday which is my deployment date. Imagine trying to coordinate all this while loading up on a C-17. I’m bitter because this is a known problem and they don’t care about the owners. They only care about the dollar.

I live in California and bought my 15 LML from a gmc dealership out here but what if we havent swapped the cp4 pump yet. Would we have to get it fixed first in order to get paid out?
I wonder how Ford got around this. 2011 to present 6.7 uses the CP-4. What did Ford do differently, or are the 6.7s suffering from the same failures, and if so, where is the lawsuit against Ford???
My understanding Ford has fewer failures. I have a 2015 F250. After my LML took a dump I had a CP4 disaster kit put on my F250 and I use a diesel lube additive. Ford also has an in tank fuel pump also. LML did not have that.
@@grantensrud9185 Why? Bosch designed that pump for Europe which has more sulphur in the fuel = more lubricant. US has low sulphur = less lubricant. I don't disagree it was a poor design but they should have put 2 and 2 together to know that low sulphur fuel would possibly cause issues. When they started to fail GM asked the dealer to send them the failed pumps. Oh they knew what was going on with the failures and why. They chose to ignore it. It's all in the court case evidence.
What would you think about a fleece in tank lift pump. Is that a good option for a stock 2015 Duramax. I qualify for the lawsuit, but what good is it going to do? My truck hasn’t failed yet.

What a crock. Leave it to attorneys and a huge corporation to exclude the other 43 states. I do not qualify, nor do I have the means to do the pump conversion on my own dime. Good content, brother. Keep it up!
@@brianperkins3782 I’m in the same boat!
@@brianperkins3782 same brother. But they gave me a 2nd place prize… passenger side airbag replacement. But what company hasn’t had to replace those.
It makes me wonder about Ford that has been using the CP4 since 2011 and continues to on all the 6.7 Powerstrokes. They may have a lift pump where GM did not but the CP4 is none the less destined to fail with an inherent design flaw. Ford should be very concerned.
No help if you bought it used?
GM knows they have bad pumps installed on these trucks and don’t want to pay for the problems.
hopefully ford is next but i changed the cp4 out at 35k miles
where did you get your kit?
Those responsible will face God, it does not help us now, but one day, they will pay dearly.
What DEF system with the LMM? I don’t add DEF to my 2008 Duramax. Stock.
@lmtada I guess it's not actually a DEF system. But it's a region system that puts fuel into the catalytic converter to burn it hotter ,waste of fuel!
@@lmtada he had to have meant his EGR. That's my guess.
CP3 pump conversion is the best option for the 11-16 LML Duramax and 19-20 6.7 Cummins. But 6.7 Powerstroke, it will go with the DCR Pump conversion.
LMMs are the best and I will die on that hill
Cenex or Conoco amber color means no biomass..
If your local dealer hustles a lot of diesel with some biomass B10 definitely then use Archoil or Stanadyne W/lubricity..
I am in the class action suit. The payout is reduced by the number of claims. I have to provide documentation of the replacement. I bought from a GM dealer, sales receipt with the VIN and repair receipts that document the vehicle by VIN on the receipts. I don't look for a payout .. check in hand until about a year from now.
Do you live in the states that qualify?
@@ivanperea4381 Yes. Numerous people in a Duramax forum have asked why certain states only qualified. No one seems to know the answer.

If diesel fuel quality is superb in Australia I wouldn't worry about it.
Mike go get a cp3 put on it, then you can take it out of storage. You will thank yourself later.

Met all criteria other than the dealer we purchased from in Des Moines is just a small time dealer. I doubt they are considered gm authorized.
If it was originally purchased in Texas. U should get the 700 $ whatever it is anyways worth a shot
Glad mines an LB7, no problems at all.
L5P with a 6 speed would be the best newer model to have. Not getting rid of my LBZ though.
Checked my serial numbers…. I only got a passenger side airbag replacement.
In the 90s, the American petroleum Institute made the conscious decision not to put lubricants in the diesel fuel. I don’t remember why but they actually made that decision because they had that conversation because of what was going on in your Europe, grace and peace.
Is the l5p really that much better. I daily a lmm and also have both a lly and lbz
l5p is not bosch so definitely better--nippondenso fuel system
I definitely qualify, with my 2015 one ton, but I'll be reading the fine print... I do NOT trust lawyers.

This is the reason I skipped on buying a 2012 duramax 3500. Didn't want the added stress of worrying abt the injection pump blowing up.
That is weird. I don’t recall powerstrokes have cp4 failures like the LMLs. What is going on?
What BS! Every state should be in this!!!
They only care about the dollar.
hi name is Chris own chevy 2500hd 2014 live in Michigan i run a lift pump but i don't like the idea of that going bad they should cover all state cuz it not far to me if that go's out now also out 12000
I live in California and bought my 15 LML from a gmc dealership out here but what if we havent swapped the cp4 pump yet. Would we have to get it fixed first in order to get paid out?
Hey, Josh, what do you think about the fast eGR filter kit ?
I do not qualify. I own a 2018 L5P GMC 3500 HD. I have replaced all the injectors and all the glow plugs. I'm currently at 163k miles on my truck.
I think the 2017 fords have that same problem
The pump in my LMM failed at 120k miles.
When I went to GM's website and entered my Vin number it said I was eligible for the claim , but purchased from Ohio dealer. Now what ?
I wonder how Ford got around this. 2011 to present 6.7 uses the CP-4. What did Ford do differently, or are the 6.7s suffering from the same failures, and if so, where is the lawsuit against Ford???
Ford definitely experiences cp4 failures, good question
I did a video on replacing the 6.7 CP4 with a DCR kit and it made a world of difference
My understanding Ford has fewer failures. I have a 2015 F250. After my LML took a dump I had a CP4 disaster kit put on my F250 and I use a diesel lube additive. Ford also has an in tank fuel pump also. LML did not have that.
Maybe GM and Ford need to take up a lawsuit against Bosch? I mean, who is liable to who???
@@grantensrud9185 Why? Bosch designed that pump for Europe which has more sulphur in the fuel = more lubricant. US has low sulphur = less lubricant. I don't disagree it was a poor design but they should have put 2 and 2 together to know that low sulphur fuel would possibly cause issues. When they started to fail GM asked the dealer to send them the failed pumps. Oh they knew what was going on with the failures and why. They chose to ignore it. It's all in the court case evidence.
I bought my lml brand new CA in 2015, what if the cp4 hasn't gone out but you meet all other requirements? will i get a payout to do the repair?
Mine is a 2015 chevy silverado durmac diesel but in Idaho
What would you think about a fleece in tank lift pump. Is that a good option for a stock 2015 Duramax. I qualify for the lawsuit, but what good is it going to do? My truck hasn’t failed yet.
Have a 13’ bought it in OH on the OH/PA Line so unfortunately I don’t qualify. Such BS
Just had mine go out in my 15 215 k miles on it.
