This Eurofighter Typhoon are based at Tactical Airforce Wing 71 Richthofen at Wittmund Airbase in the Northern Part of Germany! That was a Really Great Display at Mollis in Switzerland 👍Greetings from the German Aircraft Spotter Coleague!

Yes, its very rare, because regular they are not allowed to make flying Displays.

I was really happy to see a German Typhoon in the over Mollis, for the Germans this is a very good flying Display.
Since ramstein the germans are very restricted on flying aerobatic over the german landscape. They cant show off a performance with the typhoon like the brits do, sadly

But look at the speed the EF has when landing... does anyone know if the chute is part of the display (= if the EF could break without it), or does it realy need the whole runway to decelerate?
Depends on the length of the runway all runways aren't the same distance.....and I'm pretty sure he was only flying with minimal fuel which also factors into how fast you can stop.
@ToXiC well yeah - but still, it's one more thing for maintenance to take care of. And since the Mirage III, Swiss Air Force had a mandatory requirement: no more parachutes for braking...
If we'd have Dübendorf (or Emmen for regular use), I wouldn't see an issue with the Typhoon in Switzerland.
But with Meiringen? Think of the thing loading two Missiles, some rounds for the gun and an external tank (for the STBY 121.5-message) and the thing MUST use both chut and brakes... Causing similar issues like the ones the Austrians have to fight with
It is more than capable of stopping with air and wheel brakes, it's just cheaper to land deploying a chute because it doesn't wear and tare on the brake pads and tires.
@@Diemerstein so it's the same as with the F-35: stopping the usual way = replace tires, brakepads and check the whole gear more often than when braking with a chute.
...my main issue: the Typhoon is still in the "race" for Air2030 in Switzerland. Though, I admit: I'd prefer the Rafale, followed by Typhoon. Before getting the Superhornet or F-35, I'd rather see a whole new evaluation including a "hole in the roof" without a few years of fighter-protections... But the Eurofighter - as long only used from Payerne (without Meiringen or the other left bases), they should consider retrofitting a hook and carrier-like stopping-mechanism to prevent the thing overshooting...
@@michaelkeller5008 Here is the thing, the Typhoon or Rafale, either one is a good choice, they both are more than capable of killing anything it will ever face flying today.
The Typhoon is more maneuverable and is more than capable of even taking on even a F-22(Google Raptor Salad to understand this) and has a few not so well known tricks up it's sleve, takes way too long to explain in a youtube reply. The Rafale is more rugged but no slouch by any means, they both are superior to the Superhornet by a long shot and in my opinion, the F-35 is a one trick pony(stealth), The F-22 at Red flag in Alaska found out that it was not enough when facing German Typhoons.
This demo is kind of tame what the Typhoon can do, do a youtube search called "Typhoon goes wild to really get an idea what the Typhoon can do.
