Stock exhaust flows well - I made 547whp/436wtq with 5" downpipe + prl front pipe thru stock exhaust.
Always great to watch some of these videos after a long day of work 🙏🏽💪🏽
I just picked up a boost blue 2021 Type R and love it lol had a 2015 wrx then 2015 bmw 2 series M sport and now the type R. I still have the bmw but the Type R handles way better and fun to drive!

Dude. I agree with both points!!!!!! I honestly do not want mines to be loud. Guess my age shows... Already had loud cars for many years. It did get bit louder with my catless downpipe... As far as power goes .. la romana (R from PR) is doing like 550whp on stock exhaust, so I'm not really worried at all for my goals.

I done PRL front pipe only but I didn’t realize that the OEM front pipe is designed for OEM cat flow ,
I was told using bigger frontpipe with stock exhaust is bad for the turbo as the exhaust needs to be less restrictive than the front pipe,
Meaning if your go 3inch front pipe you must maintain the 3” throughput the exhaust .
I ended up going back fully stock and car is quieter but feels quicker,

If you like the look of the HKS legamax, it sounds super good catless. It reminds me of the catless q300 that you had on your wrx. Not too loud when cruising, but it opens up when you get on it. Affordable too. Just don't go tomei, I learned my lesson LOL
Why the tomei IS not a good exhaust ?
Bro check out Martelius exhaust system. It sounds really good to me and it’s not that expensive. I too have a fk8 and will be buying that exhaust system soon.
Awe released a new exhaust, i have their previous touring exhaust and it sounds great but a little to loud. The new one is made for catless dp so it should be better!

go for invidia g5 full titanium exhaust - noticeable increased hp. It weighs less than 50% of stock. Or you can go for js racing full titanium. All other stainless steel exhausts on the market are not as good.
I think the revised FK8 must have a slightly redesigned heat shield as i didn't have to loosen or remove anything when i changed my front pipe. pulled it back, twisted it 90 degrees and it came out.
Bro, invidia r400 sound nice.. its not too loud, it has throaty sound to it and price isn't that bad.. you'll love it..
I noticed a notable change over stock with just the downpipe on a custom tune, aftermarket exhausts do not flow better than stock therefor no power gains to be had just noise
Go to an exhaust shop and have a custom one made. It'll be exactly tailored to what you want/need and a lot cheaper as a bonus.

I think HKS makes a nice exhaust for the FK8! My $.02.
3" straight pipe literally sounds the best. Idk what it is with this platform but all the aftermarket exhausts (maybe excluding the AWE Tuning Track Edition) doesn't make it sound too good.
Fr bro, looked through almost every exhaust for this car and none sound like I need it. I just got resonators removed and are pry gonna go catted dp and front pipe to call it a day

Does anybody remember a guy that used to make TH-cam videos, he tuned Subaru and Mitsubishi, bit of a mad character, used to always say “yea’ after every question he asked. Created a few high HP cars if I remember correctly. I think he worked out of someone else’s shop, big dude, always in a hat. I thought his name was something like Dynospeed or something. Based in the US
