@@hugo9547Here’s my thoughts on Rogan’s show and the guests he picks; It seems to me that he always try’s to get new interesting guests, but after 4000 episodes he has to just fill the spot. He went from an unknown podcaster to THE podcaster, he has to fill the episode, and so his choices sometimes aren’t the best. I do like some of his episodes with his friends though. His podcasts with Duncan Trussel, who besides his show doesn’t have much ground to be there besides being Joe’s good friend, are some of my favorites he’s ever made. I also really enjoy his old Joey Diaz episodes. There’s two sides to Joe’s show. Interesting and educated guests like Brian Cox or Jimmy Carr, and the other side which is his buddies and entertainment/fun people like Joey Diaz or Tom Segura.

He talks about these things a bit naively though. It doesn't matter that oil will stop being the primary fuel for vehicles at some point, it is now and that means if you make a fortune out of it you will be in the best spot to take advantage of whatever comes next to replace it. Also he didn't seem to know the difference between nuclear fusion and nuclear fission, the nuclear power plants we have now use fission, the article they pulled up about BP investing in nuclear power was fusion (completely different thing). Fusion is like the holy grail of power sources but we haven't developed the technology far enough to make a functional power plant yet. Fission is basically the same principle as a steam trains engine, you heat up water and the steam turns turbines, except instead of burning coal you use radioactive material, which in fission power plants is a very specific isotope of uranium, an incredibly rare substance. If we changed all of our power production to nuclear fission power plants they have calculated that we would run out of this isotope in quantities to be a viable power source within decades.

They've been telling us the same outright lies about oil and gas for the last 50 years. It's always just about to run out, and it never does.
The supply of oil is near infinite, it's only a question of commerciality. How much will it cost to extract this oil, and how much can I sell it for?
Technological innovation is constantly solving that problem.
That's why fracking was invented - the cost of oil became so high that it drove a technological revolution.

New found respect for jimmy carr. He comes across as such an intelligent man in this podcast! I never liked his comedy style ripping on people so this is a great eye opener for me
