That's all of the left-wing of the Western countries and most of the right-wing... although for a lot of people it's just unwitting. Most people fall for propaganda immediately; their thinking doesn't go further than putting a Ukraine flag in their Twitter bio. And the easiest way in my mind to think of Putin is to relate him to Trump's big narrative, in this case: "Make Russia Great Again", except he's a lot shrewder. This guy is an idiot and he knows nothing about Vladimir Putin's behavioural patterns. If any peace deals were to take place, Russia would invade a couple years later - after demilitarising Ukraine - making the occupation that much easier. This was never a war for Donbas, and if you still think it was then you're misinformed. Americans miss the urgency of this kind of stand that Ukraine is making against their invaders. This interview is months old, so I'm going to give the clown in the video the benefit of the doubt, but we've learned just how irrational Putin is since the war broke out. The fact that Russia has so clearly attempted to genocide the Ukrainian peoples and we still have people like this calling for "peace" makes me lose hope. Imagine if the tables were turned. Imagine Russia was trying to take a part of the US. You wouldn't be so quick to call for peace now, would you? If you don't involve yourself in Eastern European politics and you don't have an active interest in this situation, its best you just be quiet and abstain from sharing your opinion.
The sheer amount of propaganda aimed at Ukraine coming DIRECTLY from the Kremlin was insanity. This dude, Dave Smith, didn't mention Russia's insane attempts at taking over the culture of Ukraine nor did he mention the OVERWHELMING vote of the Ukrainian people in 1991 to separate from Russia. he should have interrupted him and told him all of that he was saying is bs though. 1. Russia had a signed pact with Ukraine to never attack them so they gave up their nuclear arsenal to Russia. Putin also told everyone right before the invasion, that they will not invade Ukraine. So therefore any deal with Putin and Russia is worthless as they will break it. Russia will never leave Ukraine (if not forced). Every eastern country knows that. Russia cannot be threatened by NATO anyway (its a defense pact). How can you threaten a nuclear superpower? Putin only doesn't like NATO because then he could not simply attack a country without activating NATO. As long as you not invade a NATO country there will be no issues. 2. There is no signed contract that NATO will never expand east. 3. To the argument that we need to listen to Putin why he hates the west and why he is attacking Ukraine: here are a couple of fake and random reasons from Putin: - Ukraine is committing genocide against ethnic Russians - Ukraine isn't a real country - De-nazify Ukraine - NATO expansion - Ukraine may be using Nuclear weapons in the future 4. Okay, let’s go from the start. 1. The war is not on Russian border, it’s happening on the large part of Ukrainian soil. 2. Nobody told Ukraine not to negotiate. That’s a made up fact right there. All Russia wanted from the negotiations was to Ukrainian government to resign and the army to stop fighting which was unacceptable. They did not want to change their minds. 3. The only provocation on this conflict was first, the invasion of Crimea, then the Donbas region conflict that was fully made and financed by Russia. It’s nothing about NATO, Putin actually does not give a F about it. The evidence for that is Finland and Sweden joining NATO now. Russia had nothing against it. 4. The 2014 revolution was fully organised by Ukrainian people. And the West had nothing to do about it. People did not want to get closer to Russia all that Russia always wanted and was doing was to destroy Ukrainian culture. They’ve been killing us for hundreds of years and we still remember that. We wanted to join EU, something that meant a greater future for us. 5. The Poroshenko was not fully a pro west president and had nothing to do with it. Actually the majority of his business was done with Russia, but that’s a whole different story. America did not decide who and where would lead Ukraine after it. We had an honest election here. 6. Joe Biden’s son story is his own business story that had nothing to do with politics. 7. Donbas region was overtaken by Russia, then, militarised by Russia, fully financed by Russia, that had a made up referendum with no international observer during the process. Fake referendum. As the one they are doing right now again.

As Georgian, even for me its pretty hard to go back and look at it all to understand the roots of the cause as it dates way back before even WW1 (1783 for Georgia). Short version is, our countries are subdivided into provinces similar to states in USA and they have local governments, under USSR officials were put in place to govern those provinces. As anything in soviet union they were corrupt people who decided to steal and plunder, eventually turning into local war lords. It took years to get rid of them and curb corruption as they were armed better than our own military in some cases. Why did we get rid of them? well they were abducting people both local and foreign, obstructing development and keeping people poor and uneducated. Now for all those people who think USA is the bad guy scheming in the background in every conflict, you're right USA provided intelligence to help win those internal conflicts, however what you forget is that Russia never sat doing nothing. Russian military was still present in Georgia after collapse of soviet union and they refused to leave, we were ready to accommodate them even build barracks for their men and provide food and infrastructure yet they refused to sign non-aggression treaty. In 2008 they activated their military in response to us trying to prevent acts of terror in Tskhinvali region (insurgents blowing up civilian and police infrastructure killing both policemen and civilians). Now why did they ignore other conflicts prior? (exception Apkhazia) well simple, they stopped military intervention once they got within reach of gas pipeline in Georgia supplying Turkey and EU so the answer is painfully clear. Ukraine is the same, its never about those people in Luhansk and Donbas, if it was about civilians then Russia wouldn't indiscriminately bomb civilian infrastructure, in Georgia we put our military infrastructure ways away from civilians yet they still came under fire, honestly if Russia wasn't a threat we wouldn't need to join NATO so...
Which was all one country called the USSR 30 years ago. Russia didn't invade Moldova. They never left when the USSR fell. In Georgia not all wanted to seperate from Russia. TL;DR Russia isn't the argessor you think they are.

This guy doesn't have a full perspective on what's happening in Europe. I'm in Germany and since the cold war, Russia has been carrying out assassinations and bullying its neighbors. And if its neighbors want to join NATO, why not accept them. A dumb take by him
It’s crazy how much misinformation we are fed on a daily basis by our rich and empowered officials. It’s absolutely nuts and I always said since the beginning “why would they accept missles that close to them?” It made no sense. But hey, what do I know? Great interview.
We staged the coup in Ukraine the US according to Victoria nuland who was caught on a hot mic saying it cost $200 million to stage the coup in Ukraine and it wasn't going to happen the way the EU thought it was
Turns out they have been able to hit anywhere on earth with those missiles since the 80s. Nuclear Armageddon is gonna happen once those nukes start flying regardless of how close the first missile launched is. So they've decimated their already old population distribution even more for a moot point. But hey, what do I know?
missiles close to them? my guy this aint ww2 anymore what are you waffling about NATO doesn't want missiles but eastern europe does want protection against their schizo neighbour. Funny how you didn't talk about them, you know the subject matter, the actual people living in sovereign countries who have been terrorized for all of recent history by one country. One country which doesn't get to decide what eastern european countries do. But sure, believe this guy who is straight up lying about simple historical documents which are not disputed in any respected forum.
It's not as fascinating as you think. The bankers run the country from behind the curtain and one of the biggest money makers for them is the arms industry and war. Why do you think they released the Russian "Merchant of Death"? They need that instability. Also why 70% of the arms and money sent to Ukraine cannot be accounted for. It was never meant for the conflict. It was meant to flood the black market.
Ukraine is just a massive testing ground for Western Equipment so companies that make american weapons have proof that it works, therefore more money in there pockets
The weapons manufacture industry in the US is one of the very few 100% US industries left. Getting involved into a conflict, directly or not, is simply good for its economy (and, most importantly, for those that have stakes in the industry).
Well the Americans need to bomb or fight someone. It’s in there national anthem ffs. They talk about fighting and bombs bursting. Dont get me wrong the American military I have a lot of respect for cause my dad fought for them in Vietnam and he’s my hero. But it’s not the military’s fault that the government wants to control the world
History of Ukraine and Its Geopolitics Without Disinformation, Impressions, or Sentiments Ukraine was one of the most developed parts of the Soviet Union after Russia. During the existence of the USSR, Ukraine was the second-largest economy within the union, after Russia, thanks to its strong agriculture, heavy industry, and strategic location. Ukraine was known for its high level of agricultural production, particularly in grain cultivation, making it an important food producer. Additionally, it had a well-developed industry, including steel production, coal mining, and engineering. Many Ukrainian regions, such as Donbas and Dnipro, were key to Soviet industrialization. This economic strength, developed infrastructure, and cultural and historical heritage made Ukraine an important player within the USSR and gave the country decent prospects for the future. However, after the collapse of the Soviet Union, Ukraine faced serious economic and political challenges that influenced its development after gaining independence in 1991. Geopolitical Neutrality After Independence After achieving independence in 1991, Ukraine found itself in a geopolitical situation between the East and the West. Following the collapse of the Soviet Union, Ukraine was oriented toward neutrality, as expressed in the Budapest Memorandum of 1994. Under this agreement, Ukraine agreed to surrender its nuclear arsenal in exchange for security guarantees from the United States, Russia, and the United Kingdom. This neutrality allowed Ukraine to establish bilateral relations with both major blocs, the West and the East, without falling under either’s influence. Ukraine welcomed this neutrality, and both powers were pleased with the nuclear disarmament of the country. The benefits of such neutrality were enormous. Few countries in the world had similar guarantees from major powers, and history shows that these neutral states often thrived economically and politically. Ukraine could benefit from trade and energy advantages without facing the pressures associated with joining any military alliance. It had the opportunity to make bilateral agreements with both Russia and the West, providing stability and economic benefits. With Russia, Ukraine could maintain relationships in energy and trade, securing stable and very cheap supplies of gas and oil while negotiating energy prices due to its role as a transit country to the EU. On the other hand, relations with the West, particularly the EU and the US, brought technological development, trade support, and access to European markets. Neutrality was also expected to provide Ukraine with political flexibility, which would mean stability and space for internal development without having to choose between two blocs. Without military alliances, Ukraine could protect its security cheaply thanks to international guarantees. However, we know how Ukraine managed this situation. The country was divided among so-called oligarchs, and corruption reached unprecedented levels in Europe. Pro-European and pro-Russian parties alternated in power like clockwork. The Shift After 2004: The Orange Revolution After 2004, due to the "Orange Revolution" and the rise of a pro-Western government led by Viktor Yushchenko and Yulia Tymoshenko, Ukraine began seeking closer ties with NATO and the European Union, leading to a gradual departure from neutrality. The Tragic Shift in 2013 In 2013, under President Yanukovych, Ukraine postponed signing an association agreement with the European Union, sparking mass protests known as Euromaidan. Many pro-European supporters argued that the agreement could have been approved after the next elections, ensuring broader political legitimacy and avoiding destabilization. However, previous election results, globally recognized as legitimate, indicated this was highly unlikely. At the time of the protests, there was one year and five months until the next elections. Russia reacted to Ukraine’s decision to break its neutrality and begin accession talks with the EU by offering lower energy prices and financial assistance to restructure Ukraine's debt. Despite this, Ukraine continued its integration into the EU, which Russia logically saw as a clear departure from the neutrality guaranteed by the Budapest Memorandum. Consequently, Ukraine forfeited the guarantees provided by the memorandum. The 2014 Coup and Policy Shift After Yanukovych was overthrown and fled to Russia, a new pro-Western government took power. This transition of power was both internationally and domestically illegitimate and was strongly supported by the West, which began investing in Ukraine to support so-called democratization or pro-Western processes. The US alone invested over $5 billion to support "reforms," which was understandably seen as interference in Ukraine's internal politics. Western support, including financial and military aid, strengthened Ukraine's pro-European direction but violated the framework of neutrality enshrined in the Budapest Memorandum. Cutting Off State Finances to Disloyal Regions Following the 2014 coup, when the pro-European government came to power, a significant step was taken that had long-term consequences for Ukraine’s internal political situation. Eastern and southern parts of Ukraine, loyal to the former pro-Russian government, were excluded from access to public finances. This led to deep economic and political isolation in these regions, exacerbating dissatisfaction. Regions that had previously relied on state transfers and support faced economic difficulties, fostering separatist tendencies and support for pro-Russian forces. Creation of Separatist Units in Eastern Ukraine New separatist units in eastern Ukraine emerged mainly in response to attacks carried out by nationalist units from the western part of the country. These units, supported and financed by the new pro-European regime, were perceived as a threat to the Russian-speaking population and pro-Russian areas. Violence and repression in these regions, including battles against local residents, led to declarations of independence and the establishment of separatist republics. Russia supported these separatist forces not only with military aid but also with logistical and material assistance. The Eastern War and Annexation of Crimea In response to changes in government and the cessation of state aid to eastern and southern regions of Ukraine, separatist forces in Donbas, supported by Russia, began fighting against the new regime. This conflict, resulting in thousands of deaths and destroyed cities, escalated into an armed war between the Ukrainian army and pro-Russian separatists. In March 2014, Russia annexed Crimea, which the West viewed as a violation of international law, leading to international sanctions against Russia. Political and Economic Polarization After the 2014 coup and the escalation of conflict in eastern Ukraine, the country’s political polarization deepened. Western Ukraine, which supported the pro-European orientation, remained loyal to the new government, while eastern regions felt neglected and economically demoralized. This divide fueled ongoing conflict in Donbas, where separatists backed by Russia clashed with Ukrainian forces. Zelenskyy’s Victory and Promises In the 2019 presidential elections, held only in loyal territories, Volodymyr Zelenskyy won, promising to end the war and stabilize the country. Zelenskyy declared that he would allow the Russian-speaking population in Ukraine to avoid persecution and that Russian would be recognized as an official language alongside Ukrainian. His promises to end the war and ensure the rights of the Russian-speaking population were seen as attempts to improve relations between pro-Russian and pro-European parts of Ukraine. However, instead of pursuing peace, the new Western puppet announced a decree banning negotiations for a ceasefire and allowed continued persecution of the Russian-speaking population.

@@somethinglikethat2176 This is funny.... if you listened closely, the roles in your analogy are exactly reversed: the Russians being the appeasers and NATO and the West the encroachers. Did you not hear what was being said? At the break up of the USSR, the Russians were given certain reassurances about the intensions and future behavior of the West concerning expansion of political and military influence... and then NATO and the United States proceeded to violate those reassurances one by one. So let us take your little analogy and play it out as it actually occurred historically..... 1999: Just let Poland, Hungry and the Czech Republic join NATO, they will stop there 2004: Just let NATO also include Bulgaria, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia... they will stop there 2009: Just let the West include Albania and Croatia, and then they will surely stop 2014: Yeah, ok.... so the West orchestrated a coup in Ukraine that ensured a pro NATO government. But then they will stop 2017: Oh what the heck, let them have Montenegro too, then this will stop 2020: Let NATO include North Macedonia, so what. Now it will stop By this time, talk about the Ukraine also joining NATO was being openly discussed and the government in Kiev was blatantly bombing the Donbas region, which has a Russian ethnic majority. And so, the appeasement ended and Putin finally acted. So your assessment is nothing more the historical nonsense.

3. To the argument that we need to listen to Putin why he hates the west and why he is attacking Ukraine: here are a couple of fake and random reasons from Putin:
- Ukraine is committing genocide against ethnic Russians
- Ukraine isn't a real country
- De-nazify Ukraine
- NATO expansion
- Ukraine may be using Nuclear weapons in the future
4. The referendum from 2014 was fake and everybody knows that. There was also a referendum about the annexed parts of Ukraine. everybody could witness live how they lied, threatened people and faked the whole thing.

Sure. EVERYONE doesn't realize but you. What an arrogant and immature thing to say.
The situation goes back to Georgia, Moldova and all other coutries Russia invaded for last 30 years
As Georgian, even for me its pretty hard to go back and look at it all to understand the roots of the cause as it dates way back before even WW1 (1783 for Georgia). Ukraine is the same, its never about those people in Luhansk and Donbas, if it was about civilians then Russia wouldn't indiscriminately bomb civilian infrastructure, in Georgia we put our military infrastructure ways away from civilians yet they still came under fire, honestly if Russia wasn't a threat we wouldn't need to join NATO so...
no it doesn’t. There was no issue Untill 2014. Stop spreading lies
Which was all one country called the USSR 30 years ago. Russia didn't invade Moldova. They never left when the USSR fell. In Georgia not all wanted to seperate from Russia. South Ossetia had a UN endorsed military Pact with Russia as its peace keeper and that's why Russia got involved. With Ukraine there own president in 2014 asked Russia for military assistance. History of Ukraine and Its Geopolitics Without Disinformation, Impressions, or Sentiments
Ukraine was one of the most developed parts of the Soviet Union after Russia.
Geopolitical Neutrality After Independence
After achieving independence in 1991, Ukraine found itself in a geopolitical situation between the East and the West.
The Shift After 2004: The Orange Revolution
After 2004, due to the "Orange Revolution" and the rise of a pro-Western government led by Viktor Yushchenko and Yulia Tymoshenko, Ukraine began seeking closer ties with NATO and the European Union, leading to a gradual departure from neutrality.
The Tragic Shift in 2013
In 2013, under President Yanukovych, Ukraine postponed signing an association agreement with the European Union, sparking mass protests known as Euromaidan.
The 2014 Coup and Policy Shift
After Yanukovych was overthrown and fled to Russia, a new pro-Western government took power.
Cutting Off State Finances to Disloyal Regions
Following the 2014 coup, when the pro-European government came to power, a significant step was taken that had long-term consequences for Ukraine’s internal political situation.
Creation of Separatist Units in Eastern Ukraine
New separatist units in eastern Ukraine emerged mainly in response to attacks carried out by nationalist units from the western part of the country.
The Eastern War and Annexation of Crimea
In response to changes in government and the cessation of state aid to eastern and southern regions of Ukraine, separatist forces in Donbas, supported by Russia, began fighting against the new regime. This conflict, resulting in thousands of deaths and destroyed cities, escalated into an armed war between the Ukrainian army and pro-Russian separatists. In March 2014, Russia annexed Crimea, which the West viewed as a violation of international law, leading to international sanctions against Russia.
Political and Economic Polarization
After the 2014 coup and the escalation of conflict in eastern Ukraine, the country’s political polarization deepened. Western Ukraine, which supported the pro-European orientation, remained loyal to the new government, while eastern regions felt neglected and economically demoralized. This divide fueled ongoing conflict in Donbas, where separatists backed by Russia clashed with Ukrainian forces.
Zelenskyy’s Victory and Promises
In the 2019 presidential elections, held only in loyal territories, Volodymyr Zelenskyy won, promising to end the war and stabilize the country.

1999: Just let Poland, Hungry and the Czech Republic join NATO, they will stop there
2004: Just let NATO also include Bulgaria, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia... they will stop there
2009: Just let the West include Albania and Croatia, and then they will surely stop
2014: Yeah, ok.... so the West orchestrated a coup in Ukraine that ensured a pro NATO government. But then they will stop
2017: Oh what the heck, let them have Montenegro too, then this will stop
2020: Let NATO include North Macedonia, so what. Now it will stop
By this time, talk about the Ukraine also joining NATO was being openly discussed and the government in Kiev was blatantly bombing the Donbas region, which has a Russian ethnic majority.
And so, the appeasement ended and Putin finally acted.
So your assessment is nothing more the historical nonsense.

But somehow all the "terrorists" had ukrainian passports with local residence. First wave of Ukrainian military even surrendered their weapons and went back home, some even joined the rebels, because they didn't want to kill their own people (I have videos of that if you want). Yet the next wave consisted of freakin' nazis who were glad to turn Mariupol into bloodbath (again, Nazis in Ukraine is not just propaganda, I have an entire folder of videos, links and documents for those who are interested. After all, I've been studying in Kharkov when things turned violent, I saw it all myself).

There wouldnt be a world war if your using sticks and stones
You can't say Nato has expanded East right onto Rissia's doorstep and then turn around and say Putin is wrong for fighting against that. How does that make any sense?
Because we have to continue to defend our position. And saying that you agree with Putin decision to invade Ukraine is a step too far for most viewers. But the reality is Putin had no real option but to invade and the US and NATO made sure of this by refusing to negotiate.
Because NATO didn't invade countries, other countries are allowed to join international alliances if they want.
Very simple logic.
@@justinworley5075 Simple logic for sure. The reality is however that it's not really that simple. By that simple logic it should be okay for Russia to have military assets based in Canada.
@@Mike-id7bh if the US was a terrible partner for Canada and Russia was better, then yes it would be perfectly sensible for Canada to partner with Russia. This doesn't justify the US invading Canada
Stop being dumb. An agreement between two sovereign nations that doesn't directly impact a 3rd nation occurs, it doesn't justify the 3rd to invade either party. Could they bolster their defenses? Sure. But invasion of another nation is never justified outside of that nation directly attacking the invader first.
Maybe the Russians should've been good partners for their neighbors and not spend centuries across numerous governments doing nothing but harming them and their people. Maybe then most of the eastern bloc wouldn't hate Russia 🤷
Stop with this dumbass gotcha
Then, why does Russia decide to launch the war against weak Ukraine instead of attacking Finland???
I'm honestly shocked that guy on The Colbert show spilled so much strategic information.
He didn’t said anything that isn’t obvious for everybody that follows politics. Putin and the rest of the eastern leaders are talking about it all the time. Because USA is doing that with a lot of countries

It's amazing how simple to understand this war is and yet ask yourself if you heard this version from any of the main stream media outlets. How long is it going to take for people to wake up and realize they play us on every level there is to get what they want. From racial tension, to political party tension, to what entertainment you watch on Netflix at night, your mind is their ultimate prize and they need as many pawns as possible to keep their game going.
💯👏👏
TRUE .
Shit like this makes me want to quit life. It’s so fucking see through and yet we’re still sending billions over there, meanwhile we have to overpay for our most basic needs like water and energy.

@@fedarch It’s wrong to call it westernization.
It’s democracy and human rights against autocracies and dictatorships.
The western countries are a huge mix of cultures, politics, finance markets and even conflicts between them. What is share in the west is democracy. The knowledge that politicians need replacement and not necessarily to ensure we get the best, but to avoid the worse to keep damaging their citizens like Putin has been doing all this time.
