So glad I found your channel. Love what you are doing because it is what I love to do as well. Love my evo and shovel head. Bike camp every chance I get. Keep up the good work on the videos.
I'm from Roswell, retired from BLSP. Hope you enjoyed your stay. I'm afraid I'm a riceburner rider from the 1960's, though, so don't hate me too much. My most memorable trip was Roswell to Laguna Seca (for motorcycle races) and back. Heavy rain hammered me almost all the way across AZ that year. On the way back, I had a flat near a tourist stop in the Petrified Forest area. I used my can of sealer/inflator to get me back to the tourist stop. Fortunately for me, an American Indian, name of Bernard (?!) was there doing business. Although he was in a car, he was a rider himself. Helped me get my wheel off and drove me all the way to Holbrook, where an automotive tire store fixed the flat, and then drove me all the way back. Needless to say, nice guy is an understatement. I gave him all the cash i had except for a few bucks for gas to get me back to Roswell. Ain't it cool when you happen across somebody like that?
I'm a biker who has been tent camping for 37 years. Only half those on a Harley because I was poor biker trash and Harley's were too damn expensive in the 90's. At least I haven't been without a bike since my first in 1987. Heck I was using the same trapper lean-to tent until just a few years ago. I have needed to add a little camp cot as I got older, can't sleep on the ground anymore but I'm still out doing my thing. Not Dead Yet
Thats freakin awesome! Livin it with whatever u got! And honestly the camp cots we bought were a game changer, sleep like a baby on the road! Cheers to still doing it 😁💚✌️💯🏁💥
@@ironheadsallywhat are the camp cots you guys are talking about? I have a foam pad role and a big got that folds up into a bag. The fold up one is a bit big to tie onto a bike, I think. It would be cool to see what you guys are referring to

@@mikeskidmore6754 I have a King Camp, it's a bit more expensive than some of the other Amazon cots but I think it's better built. They have a short and tall version. You need one that breaks down into parts rather than folds. It just straps to my sissy bar. I also bought a little tent that goes on top of the cot but it's new so I haven't had a chance to try it yet. I figured when traveling I could just pop the cot up with little tent real quick. Then when I reach my destination I would put my big tarp up to have shade and shelter from the rain for me and the bike.

Great attitude.....and you're adventuring without the adventure bikes! I'd still suggest you buy a couple of those at your first opportunity, so you can see what that whole thing is about! I can tell (even though this is the first video of yours that I've watched) that you'd love it....and it's a whole different world of bike riding experiences!
Great video!!!! Made me reminisce of days gone by!! Thinking back to the early 80s, I think that bike rally was $40 back then. That's why we didn't go then. Lol
Wow $40 in the 80s to go do that? Couldn’t imagine the turn out lol but that was some beautiful riding up in there!! Cant wait to go back when everyone is gone so we can really play in them twisties 😜
Man that was some awesome riding up in them mountains to the desert floors, surprisingly green. U sure have a pretty area to live in, we will definitely be back to explore more 😁💚💯🏁💥
I'm disappointed it is all over as I'm sure you guys are too. Really great to come along for the ride with you. Thanks for all the editing you do for these vids. Look forward to your next update on your trip through life. Cheers from down under 🇦🇺 Stan.
Took the Softail out for a ride today. It was 78 in the Springs today 👍 I’m refreshing my old Dodge. Bought my 72 Dodge Demon new and still have her. 👍 Nice ride out there. Thanks for sharing !!!
I ride a Road Glide and i never stay in motels, usually never pay for camping either....free campsites or middle of nowhere offroads ... strictly tent. I can carry everything i need on the bike for 2 weeks that includes most of my food ( i used to do a lot of backpacking so i carry compact and light and easy food)... only thing i really buy is water and fuel!
That’s awesome!! Super smart knowing the tricks u learned from backpacking to apply to bike camping, sounds like u got a sweet system. Stay safe and ride free 😁
runs are better than rallies. The week before thunder beach in panama city fl, we were all sitting around my bro's with a fire and beer having a blast, i asked my bros "why do we need to ride 200 miles to just watch baggers all weekend and spend 6 bucks a beer sitting around each other like we are doing right now for almost nothing?" lol
Exactly! I wonder how many rallies started like that with a group of bros having a good time and then morphed into the vendor village corporate sponsored snooze fest? If theres not cheap beer and cheap women, what’s the allure? We can all party with our buds anywheres 😜🤘
@@ironheadsally i laugh every time i see the signs that say "welcome bikers"...other than the few club riders, there's hardly any "bikers" there anymore
I ride an 02 FLHR and camp off my scoot all the time. I also take 2 weeks and ride wherever with no reservations except for the 5 days I attend/work The Smokeout.
MFr, you don't know how much this video means to me... "We're holding on by a thread" And thats some stressful shit, but im 59, been working since i was 14 and im just done and tent camping in New Mexico with someone you love sounds like heaven. Im about to "semi-retire" and live the old dirtbag cash only jobs until i die. Its scary shit, but being happy is more important. Great video. Raw and beautiful.
Man i really appreciate that! Everyone says u gotta work and be miserable, but that dont sound as fun. Theres no life like the low life right? 😜 We just talked about that, hanging with squares and trying to “fit in” to society, its not worth our sanity! Good luck on dirtbaggin and getting by! Atleast u’ll be working for yourself when and how u want 💪🤩 most cant say that, so cheers to u and ur new adventures!!
You are going to have to change your channel to EVO Sally. LOL. Good memories. Just curious though, what do you do about your pets at home, do ya'll have someone take care of them? Peace
My name and what i ride dont matter man, the channel is about riding and living. I’ve said before the fxr is the touring bike and the ironhead is my daily. The dogs couldnt get the time off work, they still have jobs to do at the farm so they stay 🤣
@ironheadsally just razing you on the name. I love EVOs. As far as the pets , I was wondering about feeding them. Do you have someone come feed them or what. I gonna be doing some longer road trips hopefully here in the near future and just wondering. Peace.
Great Video!!! I have always wondered about bottomless lake campground. Do you think it would be safe enough to leave your camp set up to run to town? safe ridin rubber down
Absolutely! We camped at the Devil’s Inkwell area so not by everyone else at the big swimming lake (which u need reservations for even in a tent spot). But we left our camp gear all day to ride (10am to 7pm) and no one touched it, all good. One thing tho, the raccoons were climbing all over my bike at night to get some spare jerky so just beware of that, but they were friendly and fat! 🤣
I refuse to pay someone to ride with others ! HD has lost their way it seems. You 2 kids are doing it right , and because of people like you the culture will remain for the time being.
