Camped in that exact spot by the river last June. Herd of cattle showed up in the evening and slept underneath that pine. NM is probably one of my favorite BDRs. Quality video.
Very impressive solo ride on the NMBDR. Beautiful rugged scenery with some really gnarly rocky sections. This shows how variable the tracks can be due to weather conditions.
Great video of your travels on the Mighty DR650, I use to fly forest fires all over NM but first time seeing the same spots from the ground. Very enjoyable & very well done. liked and subscribed.
Thanks you for posting, beatiful landscape, unhurried ride, I don´t watch videos which include music since I like to listen to the engine sound but the volume was low, greetings from a dr650 rider in Yucatan Mexicol
Man, I kinda miss that area. Was stationed at Bliss for years and have been all through White Sands, Ruidoso, and Elephant Butte. Now I'm in the San Antucky, TX area and haven't found any good trails to ride.
Nice edit of the trip! A new 2006 DR650 was my first bike. Had the huge safari tank on there and did a 1500 mile trip around Alaska. Been hooked on dual sports ever since. Currently I have a KLX 300 that I'm going to do the AZBDR on, after that I'll probably get something more highway worthy and do the NMBDR and UTBDR.
ooooo what a spectacular route, I would like to drive my DR there, I live in central Florida and there is too much sugar sand and I don't like driving through sand.
@@JMotoAdventures I’ve done just a little bit of the route around Ruidoso and White Sands, but I’d like to do the whole thing. The part that I did was nice.
J, great video! Recently found your channel, thoroughly enjoy watching all of them. I watch way too much youtube, I've thought about vids I most enjoy, they are from behind the lens, going somewhere interesting. So far, you've hit the mark! I ride a 99 DR650 that I bought used in 2004, over the years have done suspension mods. It's great bike, it's been to SW New Mex, BB, and dirt roads all around SE TX and now hill country. I guess one reason I like your vids is that I have been to some of these places. Keep them coming, they are very enjoyable IMHO! Hope to run into you sometime.... I assume you live somewhere around Austin?
Best shorter video for that covers the entire NMBDR that I've seen yet! I did Dell City, TX, to Weed, NM, in May 2023. Hoping to return to Weed and complete the S-N route in October 2023. I will be driving a Jeep JKU Rubicon with a Tentrax Trailer. Your trip through Chloride Canyon convinced me to take the easy alternative route. Looked kind of rough in a few places and I don't want to risk it by myself. I appreciate your pointing out some good campsites along the way which I've marked in Gaia GPS as best I could. You mentioned at one point being on a closed road but getting waved on. Do you remember where that was?? Thanks much for a great videl and hope to see more of your adventures!
Thank you. I really appreciate that. Chloride Canyon was closed but I got waived through for some reason. It was in much worse shape than when the route was created years ago. I can't recommend it to anyone until they repair the road.
Fantastic filming, but you got to get closed captions. I can't hear well - I'm nearly deaf. One other minor suggestion, when panning slow down a bit. My TV is slow or my brain. However, your filming is phenomenal. I'm subscribed and liked! Keep them coming. You don't talk much, as another commenter said. I guess that's good for me, especially. G'Day!
What are the orange handle bars you have on your bike? Did you install new risers, too? How about your tire recommendations? I sure enjoyed the video. Thanks, J. Edit: The video was so good, I didn't realize I had watched it some time ago (stopping to ask that water truck guy if he was OK jogged my memory. Just as good the second time around. hehe).
Great video, beautiful scenery! What a ride! I loved this video - subscribed! What tires do you run on your DR? Greetings from New Zealand from fellow DR owner.
Thanks. I have been through several Tusk DSport front tires and I think they are great for the money. For this trip I was running the MotoZ Desert on the rear and it was great. The Tusk on the rear caused a lot of dangerous wobbling at higher speeds on pavement.
Nice trip, thanks for sharing! Were you using the Tusk Moto Crutch for the tube replacement? And, it looks like Tusk Pilot soft panniers? How did they work for you?
Well I already do my own tires anyway, but yes, when I got these tools I did some changes with them because they are a little different than what I may use at home.@@edfeten4724

First time seeing this channel iv been looking for a channel with motorcycle camping for awhile .im going to start this life soon myself
Good stuff. I’m trying to wrap up another video now.

Thanks. Yeah some recent flooding really screwed things up in Chloride Canyon.
The state of New Mexico is beautiful. I have been living here since 1981. Really good video!
Yes I was surprised. Thanks.
Great video brah. Wish i could ride trough nature like that but theres not enough space in germany
Thanks
Very nice video , makes my 65 year old tail end want to do this , thanks for posting!
Do it! Skip the hard sections if you need to.
Looks like an awesome ride! Can you do a video on the mods you've done to your dr650 please.
Thanks for the idea
Oh man I have to come down and visit NM.Looks amazing!
Great video of your travels on the Mighty DR650, I use to fly forest fires all over NM but first time seeing the same spots from the ground. Very enjoyable & very well done. liked and subscribed.
Thank you
Man those trails just look bliss mate so envious…..and I think you did the ride on the perfect bike. 👍🏻
Yes, it was a great ride on a good reliable bike.
Nice Bike! I Just May Have To Get One.

Awesome ride !!
What beautiful scenery .
It really is.
Rough trail 💪👏Thank You 👍🇧🇷
Would love to see a video regarding all the gear you packed! Awesome video!
I may do that. Thank you.
@@JMotoAdventures That would be AWESOME!!!
Nice ride, I wish you had pointed out more locations ( geography) rivers etc
Thanks. I’ll do more of that on this next one I’m working on.
Good ride brother I’m in San Antonio let me know when your in the area Let’s Ride
Very nice video. Great scenery and minimal comments. Love it
Than you.

Thank you for letting me know about the music
Totally agree!!
Great video! Adding this BDR to my list!
It’s a good one
Great video in a beautiful place man!

Central Texas? Sounds like the plan im about to do this weekend. Im heading to Cloudcroft from Waco. Great video! Thanks for sharing it.
Have fun, its a good one

I bet. It sure was nice
Making some good memories out there. Good for you and thanks for sharing.
Thank you
Thank you for sharing.
One of the best highlight videos I have seen. I ride a DR also. Great bike.
Great, thank you.
Dang, some of that looked a bit gnarly for the ol’ DR! Good job! 😃
Thank you
Nice video! I'm in Colorado, looking forward to exploring some of these areas on my DR in the future.
Thanks. Check out my Colorado BDR video as well. You’ll have a good time on your DR out there.
Great job on the video, and great ride!
Thanks!
I just bought a 2024 DR650, I also plan to travel and camp out. Awesome video!!
Thanks. Enjoy your new adventure.
Awesome ride, great documentation. Nothing like being on a bike out in all that land good job
Thanks. Right, it does a lot for the mind.
Those fire fighters sounded like they had the munchies.😂
Nice ride. I am planning my NM BDR trip. I also live in Central TX, so I may just do what you did and make a loop out of it.
I also made a stop in Roswell, NM on the way home.
Awesome video! I can't wait to ride this BDR one day.
Thanks. I really enjoyed this route.
Excellent video. Looks like a great ride.
Thanks
Excellent travel😁👌👌👍👍
Saludos desde argentina🇦🇷
Good roads🤙
What a great video. Thanks a lot.

Looked like a beautiful ride. Thanks for sharing. I hope to do the NMBDR in the next year or two.
You'll be glad you did.

Yeah, it really is a great route
You have some really good videos and deserve more subs! Keep up the good work. Im hoping to be more comfortable on my DR650 on day.
Thank you
Great ride. I’ve been wanting to do the NM BDR for a long time. Hope I can follow in your tracks soon. Thanks for sharing. 👍
Thanks. I was surprised at just how nice it really is there.

More than I expected
Awesome

Great video when did you ride the NM BDR?
Thanks. In June
Plan to do this on my GS solo. Will skip the expert sections.
That’s a good idea.
Your brave doing this trip with stock headlight, hoping you don't ride at night!
I never ride this bike at night.

feels in Red Dead Redemption 2 sceneries!
This is great, what time of the year did you do it?
June
what type of garmin do you use
Garmin Zumo 369
So what are you using to navigate
Garmin Zumo 396
Did you get a pinch flat or a puncture on your tire?
Puncture. Looked like some fencing wire.
🇮🇳🙏🌹❤👌❤
Which section was it with the road jacked up they waved you through? What time of year you do it?
It was Chloride Canyon. I went in June
Nice trip, thanks for sharing! Were you using the Tusk Moto Crutch for the tube replacement? And, it looks like Tusk Pilot soft panniers? How did they work for you?
It was the Endurostar trail stand, and Tusk Olympus panniers. It was all great.
Thank you! It would be great if you did a short video on DR tips from your experience overland riding. Cheers!
WHAT TIME OF YEAR DID YOU GO?
Quick question, what time of year did you go and would you recommend it?
June. I don’t think the weather could have been better.
What caused the flat?
Looked like a piece of fencing wire. Shredded the tube.
Getting a flat out on the trail is a big concern of mine. Did you practice fixing flats before the bdr?
Well I already do my own tires anyway, but yes, when I got these tools I did some changes with them because they are a little different than what I may use at home.@@edfeten4724
Did you see any bears out there?
No, but they are around though.
@@JMotoAdventures , I am in Texas , will be retiring in a couple months, if you ever want a riding partner, let me know.
Are there bypasses around some of that gnarly stuff?
Yes, just stick to the main BDR route.
What time of year was this shot? Thanks
June
