All the yummy food in this video is making it hard for me to stay on my intermittent fasting schedule and commitment. Fives weeks is a long time to live in the little red camper. Hi Carol & Ken. Glad to be back after another nearly 3 weeks in Hospital. Tried watching on the phone but had to leave it, I am used to watching you on my 56" TV. Lovely Vlog, there were parts that reminded me of past Vlogs.

Well done thank you 👍👍👍 I lived in Canada for a bit , and when I went home I had brain fog .I actually travelled for a mile or 2 on the wrong side of the road once, thankfully it was a quiet area and I saw a car in the distance on the wrong side of the road which was actually on the right side 😂😂 so it’s always worth pausing when turning well done both good luck 👍🏴🇬🇧🇨🇦

HI Carol and Ken, had a fantastic time during our travels around GB and EU during June and July, looked out for the little read camper , but didn't see you, that's OK though. I love vanilla slices and a baked custard tarts ... so a custard slice would be the best of both worlds for me , happy travels and the new van works out for you, cheers, Garry from DownUnder

Great tip for the Custard Slice! Take a trip to Northwick where there is the Anderson Boat Lift you can get right up to and even go up for £5. The nearby Lion Salt works Museum is amazing and nice walks around Neumann Flashes and Marburg Park. Fascinating history of salt mining too

Good video. Not sure if you are aware but there is a boat lift in the UK. The Anderton Boat Lift at Northwich Cheswick. The canal crosses the River Weaver. There is a web site about it. On our canal touring days it was the one we never got to do.

I’ve taken note of your advice to watch the car, not the gap. I was caught out last week at a nasty junction I use every day. It’s just below a brow and I was turning right towards the brow. I thought I’d found a gap, but hadn’t anticipated a last minute turn into my junction from a car I thought was passing by, he wasn’t indicating. There was still room for us all as I was turning out and he was turning in. I should have spotted it. X
Glad you escaped a collision there. It’s a shame but there will always be bad drivers out there that we have to make allowances for!
@@LifeistooshortCKI exited the junction fine today, but I’m more careful about it now. Forgot to mention there’s a filter lane to turn into the junction & the car wasn’t in it, just with the flow through, I think that’s what caught me out. Your driving tips are always greatly appreciated, thank you!

We had the same crystal d'Arques wineglass for a wedding present. Been married 42 years now. They are still in use!
We still have ours on display in a cabinet and they occasionally get used after 38 years! Must be well made 😀
Another Sunday morning enjoying relaxing viewing 😊 2 great tips...firstly excellent advice on the custard 🍮 slice eat...definitely on its side...2nd watching the vehicle on front at a roundabout & not the gap in yhe traffic as so many shunts happen people assume the vehicle in front has moved on...🙄 very enjoyable vlog with ya both...any further news on the vw campervan?.

Hi guys always enjoy watching your videos, I agree with your comment about watching the vehicle in front my late father was motorway police so it was drummed into me (A) never believe any indicators on roundabouts or junctions until you see them turnas some people forget to cancel them (B) triple check before moving (C) be aware of the vehicles behind in front and beside (D) when pulling out of junctions dont dordle as a junction is a hazard in other words pull out as quickly and safely as possible.
One thing he and a family friend a police driving instructor taught me was to be able to check my sped without taking my eyes of the road for more than bout two seconds, my new vehicle has audible and visual warnings if even one mile over speed limit.
Some good advice there and I like the idea of the audible signals 🙂👍

Great video guys , love the smoke alarm warning system 😂. Ive had the same memory block at a junction when in America ....when its quuiet an no cars on the road for a reference as to which side the danger is ,the mind plays tricks .....best to wsit that bit konger and be safe .

I’ve never been to France but I’ve never seen Mille-feuille with so much custard! At the patisseries in the US, at least ones I’ve been to, they do multiple layers of pastry with smaller amounts of custard in between. Must find a slice like the one you had so I can try Ken’s tip for eating it. What a treat!

Seeing that barge took me back to my trip earlier this year when I spent some time on the Rhine. I find them fascinating, I could sit and watch for hours. Will this be one of your longest trip away from home?
Yes this has been our longest trip in the van so far - 41 nights 🙂

A little pity you could not visit the glass factory, we did the visit some time ago, it looks with time it has become more like disney. There was talk at that time of a sell out to a chinese group of companies.
Yes, it would have been interesting to see how they make the products. We enjoyed the Waterford factory tour in Ireland 🙂

It’s great to get away, I love watching you both on your travels, it’s the way to go! Do you always wild camp or do you occasionally use camp sites?
We mainly wild camp but would stay on a site if we needed to use their facilities or maybe do some clothes washing. We have spent 11 nights on sites out of the 299 we have spent in the little red camper.
I think Ken needs a new Tilley hat by the looks of it. Nice video by the way!

Great video! The soup smelled good. When I was in a hurry, I would buy a rotisserie chicken and remove and cut the meat, as you did. I would toss in some leeks and whatever veg was in season and then a pack of wild rice. Sometimes I would add a bouillon and let it cook until the rice was done. It was a quick and hearty meal and I would make it in less than half an hour. No doubt I will do it again when I have a kitchen. The chicken soup for colds has scientific support and if I add more black or white pepper, it pushes the cold out quicker. The seasons have turned in the northern regions of the United States and the OMICRON XX.155 is gearing up so I thought I would share my little snippet of knowledge. I you don’t mind garlic and toss that in, as well, the new viral strain will have limited success in getting past your current line of defense. For good or ill, I took advantage of my ‘old a frail’ classification and had it done the last time I saw the doc. Ah well. Totally unrelated to your wonderful video and I apologize for my ramblings. Do you think you two would enjoy traveling the canals and rivers of France and the Netherlands?
We love a hearty chicken soup, especially with a generous amount of black or white pepper. We have considered a canal boat trip but had a scary experience on a boat on the Caledonian Canal which has put us off a bit.

Hi Sorry did you say you bought your veg from Innsbruck Well Innsbruck is in Austria I’m there now roundabouts are odd here in Austria you have to give way to the left and in Austria they dont indicate until at the turning they are at which is particularly dangerous for us driving right hand vans
We bought that veg in Hazebrouck which is in Northeast France. The roundabouts are the same in France. It feels strange giving way to traffic from the left and going round anti-clockwise ☺️
Ironically, those custard slices are known as Napoleons here in the US. Ken, you knew the trick of attacking them from the side!
