You really did them justice. They look amazing!! Thank you for the awesome guide :) I'll be painting each of the craftworlds eventually! Iyanden done already. These scorpions are the exact scheme for my Biel Tan.
Amazing as always, love the pinky highlights on the gems! Such nice complement on that smooth green. The black "underarmor" fits great aswell. Also those tufts are great. Fits the scale much better than the "usual" ones. Great looking eldar force!
Might i recommend the Moltow One4All Refills as airbrush paint? there arent a million colors, but they are certainly very awesome, they are basically airbrush ready through my H&S Infinity 0.15, maybe add 10-20% thinner if you really want too? I was working on a green OSL scheme an hour ago and my god Poison Green is the best midtone for something like that... I do Tamiya X-15, then Poison green by Moltow, and then Fluorescent Chartruse by Golden Highflow... And its damn good stuff! Would recommend!
Love what you did with these and now I’m looking at going green rather than black when I get mine. I’m also interested in how you did your banshees as well!
Great video. @cultofpaint what are you doing with the airbrush trigger when highlighting white at 1:25? It looks almost like a single action airbrush? But obviously it's double action. I've seen you and several other talented artists use "single action"/"pecking" styles of airbrush control for fine details with thin paint. When I try that, I get splatters from residual paint on the needle almost immediately. Double action solves that, but I'm often too slow getting the air off and spider thin paints. Is it just a matter of trigger practice to get double action looking like a single fast movement?
Often when a paint is or has to be thinned down a lot more than usual, it is thin enough to be released into the chamber without having to pull back in the trigger. Happens allot with lighter colours in my experience
Great tutorial, I much prefer the black under suit it balances everything and makes the green stand out better, could you link the basing tufts and ground cover please
16:51 Yeah... most aspects are in a rough spot right now sadly. Really does not reflect that these guys and gals have been spending the last century or so perfecting their craft when you charge a large squad of banshees into intercessors, killing like 4 of them and getting absolutely stomped when they fight back :/ Awesome paintjob though! And if it's any consolation, Striking Scorpions have actually been doing okay for me in games as well! The dev wounds vs infantry really help them a lot.
They look great. I've been considering using a very similar scheme for my Salamanders plus maybe some freehand flames if I still have the energy when I reach that point.
Lovely stuff Andy! Great balance between the amount of effort and the quality of the result. Ps the link to the Ground Cover from Reality in Scale is missing.
@@_iJamo I actually already have a pot, but thought it would be nice for others to have the link. If you search for "reality in scale medium brown", you will find the same one as Andy is using. Should be the top result.
This has been so useful Andy. About to embark on painting my SS for Kill Team and will be pinching your bright green as a base for some oils. I'm thinking of basing in purple as a shadow colour prior to a zenithal white but I'm not sure how that will come out!
That image from that book is like 20 years old. I bought it in the Naughties. Funnily enough, my Scorpions are metallic green with acrylic yellow trim and those peripheral colours for the accoutrements. See what you mean about the poses though. They look like the originals with a little repositioning of the arms.
Love the black under armor look. Ive tried to do a similar scheme with my windriders, but i have trouble getting in those crevasses . do you have a particular brush recommendation or does that stability/brush skill come with more experience? Thank you so much!
I have pre-ordered salvation and definitely going to follow this guide as I love the bright green and do not want To darken the miniatures with a wash. Are you going to paint scouts as would love to see them as imperial fists but with a brighter yellow? Thanks
Very nice work but Ulthwe does not have Aspect Warriors in their Craftworld army, just the legendary Black Guardians and several squads of Warlocks. Has the background fluff changed recently? I know there was a big wet fart recently concerning the Ynari Eldar and all that, that kinda sorta changed what's going with the Eldar.
Ulthwe's lore was that they had fewer Aspect Warriors than other Craftworlds (due to the greater time requirements of the paths of the Warlock and Farseer, as well as their time commitments to the standing forces of Black Guardians), not that they had none.
If your Banshee are dying I think you are doing it wrong. I use my Serpents as tanks. Lets face it, up until tenth I could "Advance" across the board, shoot with Crystal Targeting Matrix and next turn disgorge some Wraithguard to shoot or chop their way through that flank, (I really miss the six foot table. I always used the full playing surface). Anyway, Serpents with TL Bright Lance and Shuriken Cannon caused all sorts of grief. One of the most versatile vehicles in the game, even without the upgrades.
What do you recommend as airbrush friendly paints? I have experimented with Tamiya for years and was not able to obtain such saturated colours from them and Mig is a nightmare to work with.
Lovely scorpions. I'll gladly watch more videos on your Aeldari army.
Thanks for your work
The black makes this absolutely pop

I can’t wait ❤
Have to say I wasn’t 100% onboard with the green … and then you added the black and OMFG so good. Totally adopting this process for my aspects.
Having boring colours is so important for balance! I paint a lot of figures with lots of black
Less that it was boring and more that it framed the green so well & created fantastic contrast.
I love what you did with your Striking Scorpions Andy. I'd love to see more videos of you painting Aeldari.
Excellent, thanks.
I’ve also started washing the sand for basing with mournfang brown being my go to at the moment - so much easier!
The green is superb Andy! Painting the under-suit parts of the armour black is a great touch. Love them!
Love Andy’s army painting videos. Simple stages with big impact.
Amazing as always, love the pinky highlights on the gems! Such nice complement on that smooth green. The black "underarmor" fits great aswell.
Also those tufts are great. Fits the scale much better than the "usual" ones. Great looking eldar force!
These Scorpions look killer with the brass and black undersuits, great call! ⚡ Yes, would love to see you tackle more Eldar! 𓂀
Beautiful paintjob! Recess shading with a darker green instead of a more black-ish color is a great idea!
So rare to see anyone painting Aeldari. I love the result and I just want more!
Really impressive work - definitely using for inspiration on my new scorpions.
Wow they look fantastic! I'm going to try this with my new scorpions once they arrive
Your aeldari look so good! Appreciate seeing the mistakes and clean up as they happen
These look excellent and that colour scheme definitely works!
Great work buddy, more Eldar please!
love these approachable, but really clean paint jobs and love the videos
Always love to see more Eldar!! Love to see them represented!!
Awesome work Andy! I'd love to see you tackle aeldari tanks, they make me struggle a lot on the painting side.
I really vouch for this!
The bulbous nature of them make natural highlighting a challenge. I agree.

I would love to see more of your eldar army I especially love your wraithlord.
You made me reconsider buying them! Excelent job!
Love what you did with these and now I’m looking at going green rather than black when I get mine. I’m also interested in how you did your banshees as well!
Love your approach to Eldar. And patreon viodeo on Banshees is also awesome 🥰
Definitely interested in more videos on your Eldar army!
Yesss! More Eldar! These look really good, would love to see what you do with the Avatar.
I’ve been re sculpting him, I’ll do it this year for sure!
Superb, great take on the reference art :)
Got to be honest here we might need to have a talk about "table top standard". All jokes aside looks stunning great work.
Amazing job!
please keep going on the eldar army, love the videos

This surely calls for a Dire Avengers and a Howling Banshee’s video. 🎉
Don’t let us down. ❤
Banshees is out and dire avengers in the future!
On TH-cam? (Can’t Find the video) And 👍 to the Dire Avengers in the future.

Always love your videos. To the point, explained well, and entertaining.
Love to see more! These are fantastic!

Cool army!
Great job
Moore of your Eldar army! 👌🏻
beautiful
Perfect!🙌
Nicest scorpions I've seen

How was that purplish grey acheived for the armor at @:27?? Looks amazing!
Mechanicus standard grey and ak blue grey
Is there a video on how to paint guys from 00:23?
With the jet bikes, do you paint the flying stand?
And yes, tanks + avatar would be really cool!
I have pre-ordered salvation and definitely going to follow this guide as I love the bright green and do not want

Henry will be doing the scouts at some point!
@@andywardle2988 look forward to watching it
what company tufts? who makes the distressed metal color?
What band of pva glue do you used please?
Professional
What did you use to thin the paint plz
The black underarmor with gold looks classy! Never liked the yellow on the original scorpions.
Awesome job. What black did you use?
VMC 950 has always been my fave
@@andywardle2988 thanks, that's my go to black as well.
@thepaintingphase recomended so i had to look :)
Very kind of them!

Chainsabre
What do you mean, tabletop level?!? These would sit front and center in my display case!!!
DO SOME TANKS PLZ!
4 built!
Quite “striking”

Where's Maugen Ra?
I started converting him but didn’t finish it yet…

Running them as 5 on foot with no transport 😂
Idk what this dudes talking about Vallejo paint coverage with brush, sucks major balls
