I'm quite fond of the silly helmets, but I don't know a lot about the faction. Time to dive into the lore and try to resist buying more models it seems@@bensnod9159
I think that there a fewer sad things than something just ignored in cheap plastic packaging gathering dust rather than being used like it was made to be. I love the pain scheme, and I hope you bring out more of these vintage models!
I'm a huge Pokemon TCG collector and I have numerous expensive cards in my retro* deck collection and watching someone's face when they get to play with a card most people have locked away in a PSA jail cell is worth it.
Fond memories from these models knocking out my friends brand new Baneblade that he got for his birthday on the first game he used it. God bless those old damage dice XD
Man those flames on the helmet look beautiful. I love when ppl add flames, lightning, etc to models. And the Eldar helmet is perfect for it as its the biggest/flattest part of the model.
I've started an ulthwe army based on that first tutorial on here, and these aspects warrior tutorials have been perfection and inspiration! I'm going to do this same thing where I can add pops of colour with these units over time
Great video, thanks Andy. It’s really useful to be able to knock the stages back a bit and make it more realistic to complete squads, armies etc. Difficult at first as you feel your not going far enough with them, but with a bit of perseverance and patience, they look awesome when it all comes together at the end.
This video and paintscheme finally after decades made me get my Eldar army. I just want those brightly colored Space Elves so bad and I want my Fire Dragons in that exact paint scheme.
Good looking paint job. You guys at cult always inspire. You also make the paint jobs look easy and everyone can give it a go. Also love the fact we get a few great tips about what paints etc that are good to add to the collections we have. Also the different bands that can be used for similar results. You guys rock.
Video preview is hillarious. I've had a quick glance and thought that somebody finally made eldar as 300 Spartans =) And now I am thinking of getting a pack of eldars, paint them is proper fleshtones, with nipples and stuff. That would be cool.
Seen some cool inverted Eldar, blue fire dragons, green dire avengers, white reapers, red swooping hawks etc be nice to see that if you continue the series
I would love to see another video for the Sons of Horus, but for a tank! they are be best SoH army I have ever seen, and they are a major inspiration for my own!
Great video! Video #2 of asking airbrush question: @cultofpaint what are you doing with the airbrush trigger when highlighting orange at 5:15? It looks almost like a single action airbrush? But obviously it's double action. I've seen you and several other talented artists use "single action"/"pecking" styles of airbrush control for fine details with thin paint. When I try that, I get splatters from residual paint on the needle almost immediately. Double action solves that, but I'm often too slow getting the air off and thin paints then spider. Is it just a matter of trigger practice to get double action looking like a single fast movement?
brilliant scheme! I love seeing reinterpretations of stuff from older GW works, and fire dragons are a person favourite aspect warrior big fan of those dire avengers too, I'm assuming they're new guardian bodies with dire avenger heads, arms and weapons?
My eldar army is biel tan and the darker helmets go well with that shceme. I'm still on the fence about what I want to do for the dire avengers. Like any art project it's tough
I am painting my chaos marines in an orange-black combination. Any mistake I make on the orange while painting the black I turn into scratches and battle damage :) Super nice paintjob !
So good! That old school punchy orange and the flames on the helmets are just😩
I've come to the horrifying realization that i think the Eldar are cool.
Welcome 😂
Always has been
Heresy
The eldar as a faction, real cool. Eldar conehead helmets. Atrocious.

Ignored? Cherished!

The black undersuit & flames on the helmet are very striking.
oh hell yeah, best faction time! love your aspect warriors
90' era is still unmatched
Man those flames on the helmet look beautiful.

For those after the Kimera orange. Element games stock them, cryptic canon, el grechio 👍

I got a 1999 eldar gun crew mini to paint up. Thanks for this.

Great tutorial, Andy! Your paint scheme looks awesome on these oldschool models
Fire Dragons were the first unit I purchased in the mid 90’s.
Great work. I love these old minis. I can’t wait to see updated fire dragons.
amazing and nostalgic! awesome job!

Oh heck yeah now this is my JAM.
I have some old metal models if you guys need more, more oldhammer content please!
Now to redo it with the new Fire Dragon models!!

Love the old skool figs. Nostalgic! Hard to paint... but super cool!
I would love to see you paint some swooping hawks on here as well. Great video and I love to watch little series like this thank you!
Those I am really hoping for new ones…I think I’ll wait until then!
@@andywardle2988 it’s crazy how old some of the eldar range still is I don’t blame you. I hope we can get all the older models refreshed this year.
Seen some cool inverted Eldar, blue fire dragons, green dire avengers, white reapers, red swooping hawks etc be nice to see that if you continue the series
love this! wicked video

3 land raiders coming 🫡
@andywardle2988
haha service like this is why I am a Cult of Paint patron!
I had to google fire dragons just to double check that these are indeed not the same kit GW currently sells.

Old miniatures are so much better. Yes, I'm old. ;)
Cool as always. 👍
I would love to see more sons of Horus videos!
Eldar ❤
I've been painting old space marine models. They definitely have their old charm. I just painted the old metal Azrael lol.
My eldar army is biel tan and the darker helmets go well with that shceme. I'm still on the fence about what I want to do for the dire avengers. Like any art project it's tough
more eldar!!
First metal mini's on the channel? Either way, great to see these old sculpts get some love.
The blood angels!
I am painting my chaos marines in an orange-black combination. Any mistake I make on the orange while painting the black I turn into scratches and battle damage :)
Super nice paintjob !
Andy u tried AK black? even after hevy thinning its still very opaque and matt
Yes, I prefer Vallejo 950 I think!
Do yall have a US based retailer for your airbrushes? I’m in the market and would like to support yalls channel
How long would a unit like this usually take to paint?
Maybe a day? I did it over a few evenings
Might be time to start calling this channel Cult of Eldar! haha jk
12:58 Wish it was the opposite :/
These look better then the new models. But I have always thought eldar models have looked ugly as hell.
