The "First Bender, then Flexo, then Fry" scene is hilarious. How can Flexo who just started working there 45 minutes ago outrank Fry who has been there for years?
0:13 Flexo is not that evil, actually. Being a purple gas, that would be iodine, which is not as bad as chlorine. They got chlorine gas right when nibbler drank the pool, so why would this be wrong? Knowing the other subtle details and the education of the writers of the show, I think this was intended.
I always asked myself where Flexo's joke was in there. Not being a native speaker, I'm conflicted whether there's some pun I'm missing, or whether there's no joke at all, but just a prank, that with the two robots' twisted humour should be funny.
An easier more tell is that chlorine rusted bender into a pile of brown dust but the gas flexo used didn't rust him. Edit: nevermind I looked it up and iodine also causes rust so idk maybe the gas was just entirely vapor with purple coloring and not even iodine.
@@DeadbeatDuder The joke is mostly just that it's incredibly toxic, and therefore not funny, but the robots treat it like a joke. The humor is just in how odd their sense of humor is.
I watched the episode where they met after the mistaken identity thing and talked about it before I saw the one where they actually showed it happened and was pleasantly happy there was a whole episode covering his story. Honestly could have used more Flexo episodes I think. Not good to over do these things but a couple more couldn't hurt
