I reform brass for my 410 - to get full forming I stand them in a pan with about 1/2 inch of water, torch heat them to color change, and tip them over into the water. Works well for me. Rifle brass is built for + or - 50,000 psi and hot loads in .410 are substantially less than 20,000 psi (close to proof load). I cannot see or find any damage to the reformed cases after more than 10 loads. I use an NEF partner 410 to form my cases and a homemade sizing die to uniform the cases. All my loads use card and fiber wads - I see no pressure signs on my fired cases. Be safe and work up loads for your guns. P.S. - 777 black powder substitute works well in my guns - no major fowling or cleaning issues.

It appears to be mostly formed, leading to think a 41 mag sizer die, lubed neck and just deep enough to finish the neck expansion. Maybe 429. For me pressure is not an issue because I do use BP. I've not been traditionally a shotgun reloader until recently, and brass cases only, and don't have on hand shotshell smokeless propellants. Have lot's of BP on hand. Single shots makes for easy clean up. Just bouncing some thoughts out loud. Not this morning if I'm even coherent. Mountain man

I suspect you're correct. Altho I annealed I probably should anneal farther down the case.
I think that's what you need to do to get a better formed case.

I like using the Elmer's glue on top of the overshot card as well, takes a few days to dry properly but seals it up well.
