He did indeed have a cape, black outside with red inside. Would've been cool to see LEGO give him the Batman treatment with that new double-sided cape
His original figure in the Light Cruiser set had his exact cape, pretty sure it's exactly the same when he has his beskar suit, so they could've just reused it.
Yeah or they could just have reused the cape he had in the Imperial light cruiser
I think it’s because he has a jet pack. LEGO typically doesn’t match capes with jet packs because of damage to the cloth
They don’t give capes to figures with jetpacks which Gideon has here so the cape doesn’t put pressure on them. Still, it would have been nice to include it on the side.
@@mathewcurtis8484 Lego is full of weird rules and exceptions to them, but they should really give buyers as many options as possible when it comes to accessories.
I love all of these and when my 6 year old saw this video he immediately said “OH I WANT THAT ONE” when the mech showed up.
Lego knows what they’re doing despite people who complain about the mechs and don’t like them.
The people that complain are very likely a vocal minority of their consumer base
Yep. Ninjago has had a lot of success with mechs for decade, I’m glad Star Wars is getting in on the action.
I feel like the Praetorians are missing some shoulder armour, especially given how amazing the TLJ Praetorians looked :)
Agreed, for that price the set is too light on available accessories that actually help making minifigs more convincing.
Yeah it would have only added two small pieces to the set (which they could have probably just substituted for some of the terrain build to keep the price the same) but it would have helped those figures look so much better
Hate to say it but theyre also missing a waist cape.
Yeah, they definitely need some kind of billones added in the shoulders, and the minifig legs don’t look quite right to me. I think they need dress legs.
The X-wing mech made me laugh when I first saw it. To me, thats enough to justify its existence

With the few different recent 501st and 332nd battle packs, I decided to dip my toe into the army building world. Nothing too crazy, but a few of each set to mass minifigures. I was sad when Rex was in the UCS Venator, which was out of range for me both in terms of price and display space, but I made my peace with it. I'm very glad that Lego is doing right by regular customers and fans and not caving to the demands of speculators.
I agree. It only suits resellers/scalpers if the Captian Rex figure remained exclusive to the Venator. For a character who is as popular as he is he deserves to be in a cheap set.

I feel you, I didn’t start army building till recently. Finally I get to have captain Rex and it’s for less than $15?!?!?!
I kinda hope that they make a full sized version of the blue y-wing at some point, but all of these sets are pretty interesting
After the microfighter I would bet on a play scale y-wing for 2025

The Paz Vizsla minifigure has been going for stupid prices on ebay due to it only being in the one previous set and people loving the character, so this release will now start crashing that market and people will be getting rid of their existing stock quick! Love it when Lego does this..

That Mandalorian battle pack would've been a dream as a kid. Smaller sets with cool minifigures and terrain was always where it was at.

good take on the rex situation jang, but i don't think they should've left the arm printing of. they should've put an alternate version of rex in the venator to begin with. like a bad batch version or a battle damaged version. everyone should deserve to get rex in a cheap set. he is the most popular clone of all time

I’m SO glad there’s a reasonable way for casual Star Wars fans like me to get a Captain Rex! I can’t afford a $650 Venator or the $85 the minifigure was going for by itself on BrickLink. Definitely a Day 1 buy for me! The rest of this Star Wars wave is really strong as well though.
I'm really happy to see Microfighters still being made! It feels like a perfect way to own an iconic _Star Wars_ ship without needing lots of shelf space. I like the Slave I and TIE fighters, but now that I've got Microfighter versions, I'm much less tempted to spend my money on the big, expensive ones.
Gideon should have had the same cape he had in the last version. They probably left it off because it would interfere with the jetpack, but it would be good to have the choice. The Praetorian helmets look a bit goofy, and I don’t say that a lot about Lego helmets. They probably could have used cloth pieces as well.
I think for the price they can include a cape for Gideon and cape-like accessories for proto-Praetorians, maybe similar to those "skirts" that clone commanders have. And Paz's heavy machine gun looks like a vacuum cleaner unfortunately, it needs a bit more detail.
The only thing that could make that X-wing mech better would be if R2 could attach on the back, but that would probably be pretty easy to implement yourself.
Here’s hoping we get a C-3PO mech next just to make people even more mad, but also to make a lot of fun for kids and the adults with more imagination
I went to check and Moff Gideon DID have a cape for the season 3 final battle!!
I get that they wanted to prioritize the jetpack, but including both would have been nice...
I completely understand why people would be a little annoyed that the Rex is the same one from the USC set, but I am happier as a customer that is the same because we’re getting a high quality figure for cheap

Personally, I like seeing figurines like Rex be more available to the people, but mate, it's not ok to be the exact same figure. They even stated that Rex from the Venator was exclusive, that's not fine at all. They could do just how they did with Boba Fett. Exclusive for the UCS (at least for some years) and almost the same figure in a cheaper set. I mean, it would be cool anyway to have 2 versions of Rex, but similar.
Your wish is my command! He did indeed have a cape that made him a more imposing presence. Super happy to see Rex in such a cheap set!

I'm also strongly in favor of non-exclusivity of minifigs, as a general thing, regarding the prices of some of these. Glad they went the way they did on Rex. The Mech Luke however goes the other way, not including the dual-molded legs or printed arms, at least judging by the pictures. 🤷♂

One thing I am interested in with the mandalorian battle pack is how many you’d feel comfortable buying to make a small army of the special Beskar stormtroopers
I’m not that big of a fan of the small mechs that they keep doing, but I’m glad that the Luke one isn’t just a mechified Luke

The Luke X-Wing Mech is ironically the best and most complete set of all of these! The Paz Vizsla and Moff Gideon Battle is cool because of the figures... The rest is "ok"... XD

I guess this implies that the lamp now works for the Empire after Order 66 given its change in colour.
I never liked that they didn't include Din Djarin's cape either anymore when they gave him a jetpack.
Both of the mandalorian sets are phenomenal. They are well designed builds with exceptional minifigures. Both very good play sets. In the show he did have his cape though. Personally I would use the Jafar cape piece as it would fit in behind the jetpack.
I love the Xwing mech, its the type of think I probably tired to make when I was a kid. Haters lack imagination and fun.

I think the X wing mech should have had some triangular sharp piece on the front instead of the rebel logo. It would have made it look more agressive and like an x wing
I think all of the mechs should’ve been like Luke’s that would’ve been so fun. Just iconic characters in a mech themed around their iconic vehicles. The ones we got last year were fine but this really elevates the concept and makes them something else. I really dig the concept behind Luke’s, just really fun and uses the idea of building and rebuilding lego into something unique.

if u want to use the cape with the jetpack u can use the cape that came with jafar CMF dual colored , sponge type and is one holded so itll fit the pack well
When somebody says they want a _special_ minifig to accompany their gorgeous, expensive UCS Star Wars Lego set, I totally get it.
When somebody says they want an _exclusive_ minifig in their gorgeous, expensive UCS Star Wars Lego set, or intimates that it’s unfair that people can get an equally good minifig without paying several hundred dollars, i have no sympathy. If you want to make sure everyone else knows you’re better than them, you’ve already got a $500 set on your display shelf; you’ve made your point even if the minifig isn’t exclusive. If you’re a huge fan of Star Wars, you should be happy that more fans can afford to get the cool minifig. If you’re buying Lego just to scalp it or to sit on it in an attempt to drive the price up and then resell it, you’re part of the problem.
Not to mention the fact that there still IS an exclusive figure anyway with yularen

I love imperial stuff, and that battle pack has two cool figs.
That Mando battle pack looks much better with the close-up of the figures. I may want to pick up a couple of them.

I agree the Imperial Commandos look amazing. They look like the Imperial Commandos from legends, but white and with jetpacks!
Those new troopers have a lot more interesting menace than the standard, even for minifigures.
That X-Mech's got some tremendous Gundam energy :)
The Y-wing feels a bit too minimal somehow? Not much space to work with but I dunno. Might grow on me
Chances are high that I’ll get the Microfighter and build Rex from that long before I actually crack open my Venator 😂

Mandalorian standoff set looks really nice, though I wish lego would keep giving us cloths for the minifigs.
I'm really looking forward to basically all these. I expect the Rex to have a different head from the one in the Venetor which would still make that one exclusive, because Lego has done that in the past. Most excited for the Mandos and Super Commando set.

yea the cape was a huge miss but the helmet does it about right. just that the cape missing makes him feel less intimidating or something, would've been cool
rereleasing the Rex figure is kind of restoring my faith in Lego as a company
Totally agree about the proto - praetorian guards, were a miss for me. I’m tempted by Moff Gideon though
The only issue I have with that rex being more accessible is that it makes phase 2 Cody from the atte look bad without the arm print

Im absolutely fine with Rex being available - but it sucks that they could have literally done the same thing with the Luke figure and didnt (based off his UCS figure) which really just feels like a double standard.
