@@MiloTheDumb all I meant was that a lot of Lego content creators focus on everything Lego is doing wrong but this guy is talking about everything their doing right
What makes Lego Star Wars so good is the fact that you can be creative with storytelling. You could have Batman drive an AT-TE walker or have Indiana Jones meet Han Solo.
I like that we are getting more small sets now, and little dioramas. It's nice to have something small you can put on a shelf and be satisfied with without risking so much money, which is a problem for a lot of people. I'll totally be happy to finally get a figure of Rex and Fives, and I'm sure we'll see more small sets next year too! Speaking of which, I'm excited for whatever kinds of sets we'll see next year! Revenge of the Sith and The Force Awakens' anniversaries! Hoping for a diorama from both! Utapau and Takodana would be awesome 👌
Unpopular opinion: I think the Trouble on Tatooine set is great and it got a lot of undeserved flak. It actually did many things right: 1) It offered early access to fully beskar Mando & Grogu on release at an affordable price point. Now being flooded with Mando and Child figs it seems meh, but I'd rather have doubles and triples (plus good sets) than having them behind a $65+ paywall like any of the Ahsoka caracters. 2) Reusability: the Tusken fig, hut and ballista can go nicely with any Tatooine build. E.g. with a few copies you can make the setting for Anakin's killing rampage. 3) It makes a great combo with the Razor Crest. You get both early and beskar Mando, can combine the baby saddle with IG-11 for an easy Grogu mech mockup, plus the speeder bike fits to a tee in the Crest's cargo bay :)
I won't argue with all those great points! Yea I remember when it came out I was stoked, but after a week or two and seeing it on shelves for so long it just got stale. Especially because all the figures came in so many other sets! I guess I just thought it was missing a play feature to set it over the top for me
@@brickmasterharri I see how from a collector's standpoint it can be a skip, different people have different experiences after all. But for that kid who gets 1-2 sets a year, tops (and not the big ones, at that) and really wanted that cool Mando & Baby Yoda, it makes all the sense in the world. Thank you for your kind answer, great video as usual!
Im eventually gonna buy a venator, as my first UCS set. Thinking about it, it’s probably one of the most epic set I thought Lego would never make and it released just after I got back into Lego after missing out on all the cool sets from 2016 to 2022
W video from harry! There are 5 sets i will buy this year! They are: dark millennium falcon, jedi bob starfighter, ambush on mandalore battle pack, captain rex y wing microfighter 2X and star destroyer!
One thing that I definitely think is a step in the right direction is taking a figure from an expensive Star Wars set and putting them in a microfighter without changing the figure’s design. The fact that I no longer have to buy a UCS Venator to get Rex is a big plus, and I’d love to see this happen more often with other popular, rare minifigs like Cad Bane and Grand Admiral Thrawn.
Hey I just wanna say I love your videos I watched like all of them for the second time yesterday. You said in the past “why hate on something you buy” and I totally agree. Thanks for pointing out all the great things about this niche and making it exciting for people like me just getting back into it! I see the points people make but they overshadow the good a lot of times and there is a lot of that. Please keep up the epic work! :D
You can buy something because you like some of it but hate the rest of it and wish that the remaining 15 percent improved. Like the new fighter tank had some nice figures but a really bad looking build
I'm pretty excited about the new Mandalorian sets that you showed. Lego sets that can connect together are always a good time. Looking forward to picking them up.
I have to say with the new versions older sets from movies, they’ve been killing it. The 40th Anniversary of Return of the Jedi AT-AT and the 212th Battalion AT-TE are so good.
The new droid carrier, while i am upset it was a gwp because i wanted one, is an amazing set and honestly works great as a gwp. Luckily my dad got another beskar Keychain when those were out cause i wanted one of those too. Love too see rex is finally coming in a more available set, definitely ordering one day one
I do think that some Star Wars fans complain way too much (this applies to the whole fandom not just Lego). Even if they get exactly what they want, they still have to find things to complain about. The biggest thing is clones, as they get mad when Lego has inaccurate printing, holes in the side of the helmets, or a yellow clone being repurposed as a pilot. Maybe it’s because I’m not a clone expert or anything, but I feel like Lego don’t need pressure on them to include hyper-accurate clone figures in their sets, many of which are aimed at children even though avid older fans can pick them up too.
A breath of fresh air hearing someone talk about how amazing LEGO SW is. Sure there are some duds, but overall this theme gets more sets, more unique minifigures, better GWPs, and more attention from the LEGO Group as a whole than any other line. Thank you for actually being reasonable.
I want to see more, (Modularity?) between sets. I want to see a wave of sets that is just relevant to one topic, or two evenly mixed waves that are relevant as far as content goes. I hate how we can have a prequel affixed wave or the releases just be all over the place. it makes deciding larger projects that much more difficult.
Nice video! It's so cool we are getting these akways wanted 25th anniversary minifigs in these sets! The trailer for that new Disney movie looks pretty cool and goofy haha!
I'm really, REALLY hoping for a big return in creative freedom with the SW line. I think there's been too much focus on visual/scale accuracy in the sets. That's not to say I dislike display sets, but I think they ought to take a back seat to playscale stuff. Loved when SW sets would have play features that, though not at all accurate, were still added in because "why not? It's fun/neat!" That dark millenium falcon would be a day-1 buy for me because I can only imagine what kind of fun features they'd give it, not to mention the figure potential in all these "what if/why not" sets. A "Lego first, Star Wars second" approach is something that I am all for. I'm hoping we'll see some of these either late this year or sometime in the next.
I Pre Ordered the new Star Destroyer because I have a cool display for it planed out. I got the pieces to build one of the stands that come in the new Midi-Scale ships so I can Display the Star Destroyer next to the Midi Scale Invisible Hand broadsiding each other. The best thing about it is that the Invisible Hand and new Star Destroyer are ALMOST perfectly scale with each other. If the Inveisble Hand were two studs longer, then they would be perfectly scaled to each other.
