Randolph, my friend has 72 holo shiny Charizards (second edition) as he used to run the only printing company in the UK that had a contract with the official pokemon card company, I was wondering that if you're interested it may be something you'd like to see as well as the rest of the collection, honestly I think it may be one of the biggest pokemon card collections that isn't public and would love to see if you're interested in seeing it privately or even maybe making a video about it

As in, the hype is good for exposure to the hobby but CAN be bad in inflating the value to the point where fans can’t buy packs for retail anymore.

Jarvis James-amoo easy. He can buy this box for 200k, but the next box he finds CAN be 500k bcs ppl know that he will buy it for a high value. Good bcs he gets the views, bad bcs it may hinder his future endeavors in this hobby (and cost more $).

I’m happy you spoke about collectibles guru... I’ve seen a lot of the community discuss how he conducts himself. A lot of the information on his page is completely false and creates speculation...he seems to be trying to use pokemon the same way he uses crypto...nevertheless Logan presented the information well and he seemed good vibes. the problem with pokemon cards unlike other forms of investment is that it holds almost no intrinsic value (simply just the value of printing costs and cardboard etc.) and is purely based on perceived value. When those who don't have that emotional attachment to the cards enter the market it can definitely skew prices and create a barrier of entry via hype for those who appreciate them. Similar to emerging tech start ups on stock markets...

I’ve always been more of a VGC fan than TGC but did collect the cards back in the day (like mid 2000’s lol) but watching this makes me want to collect and just have a nice collection of some of my favourite nostalgic cards

The best idea is to focus on one or a few of your favourite pokemon makes it easier on your wallet
It's funny, guy selling him card for around 25k, tells him how much more it will be worth by Xmas, as if he is sure. Why wouldn't you just hold it until xmas and then sell it for way more, lol. Blindly obvious red flags galore. I haven't touched a pokemon card since year 2000 and that stood out to me sorely.

They don't sell something that they are absolutely certain will rise significantly in a matter of months. Unless the guy is on the verge of homelessness or something

No one is selling that certificate if unless they aren't fully confident it will be worth more asap. That or guy has way too little cash for an investor or trader handy and needs liquidity due to an even better present opportunity, so the cost of missed opportunity exceeds the "for sure" gains that would come later this year

This could very easily mean the end of buying vintage cards for everyday collectors that don’t have Logan Paul’s (and all of his friends’) income level. Boxes could disappear and all raw/graded vintage cards could be gone so if you have a goal that involves vintage WOTC, I would try to complete it quickly.

Yes the reason I got back into collecting was because there is the chance to make some money, but I collected when I was a kid. I let it go at some point and then my younger brother was collecting. I watched Gary Vee and because of him I realized I enjoyed Pokémon and it might be fun to just try and make some money but mainly for the fun
