I lived in Port Royal SC off and on in the 1980s and 1990s (bouncing between SC, CT, and FL frequently during the 1980s). I visited Hilton Head a few times and it's a really chilled place. Porta Royal sits right across the bridge from Paris Island Marine Base, where they filmed Full Metal Jacket, and Lady's Island, where they filmed Forest Gump.
I have NO idea how I missed this episode!! I want to tell you something I say back to you when you ask me if I will “join you, shall I?” I will join you wherever it is that you’re going, my friend. You literally saved my life when I lost my mama in 2019. I found your channel and you were so kind, respectful and fun, I became a very devoted “fan” if you will. I know you’ll likely never see this, but I needed to post it, perhaps for others who are in the grip of overwhelming grief, sadness, confusion. You are doing exactly what you were meant to do, Adam. My favorite thing to do on the island was to ride a bike around it. Even getting caught in a rainstorm was fun on a bike. The scenery on the island is just so pretty!
Adam - make sure you put Fort Pulaski on your agenda the next time you shoot through Savannah. Also, Tybee Island is at the end of the road and makes for a nice visit. Fort Pulaski is a well maintained fort and still has all the walls and fortifications... plus a MOAT! 😁Loved your vids on Coastal Georgia. Thanks for the memories.
I like the quaint touristy towns - thanks for showing HH as it was some place I wondered about. I wouldn’t be opposed to seeing other quaint areas that myself and my family would possibly want to visit.

This is so awesome. You have gone from sleeping in your van to staying in Hilton Head. You are the example of following your dreams and being successful at it. BTW I am from Georgia and lived 12 years in South Carolina and I am really enjoying these vlogs.
Best of everything to you this year Adam! I love all your peaceful and relaxing videos you post. You are living life the way it should be. No stress and worries in your life. This is how most people should try and live their lives. And as far as your weight loss and healthy lifestyle you are on the right track to getting in shape. Am 5ft. 5in. and used to weigh 215 at my highest weight but I am now around 140-150. I really got off my lazy butt and watched what I ate and walked daily and funny thing the pounds started to melt away and I have kept my weight off. Plus I used to have acid reflux and when I lost all this weight my acid reflux was gone and I have never had it comeback much if at all since. Keep up the great work on your health and these videos. I really enjoy watching them. Happy adventures and exploring to you!

Some great biking trails there. When I was a wee lad, I usually spend spring break there with my parents and biking the island was always a big part of that.
Thanks for the Hilton Head vlogs. We are DVC members who have been trying to return there for the past 2 years but covid put a stop to us travelling from Scotland. We have a 9 night trip booked for March and loved seeing you there. Can’t wait to get out and about and explore the bike paths!

We truly are in love with Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort and just the entire island. It is one of the most beautiful and scenic areas. And the Live Oak Trees, the marshes, etc !! Nothing like them!! It’s just so Beautiful there!

I remember back in the day when you got around in California on your bicycle. And I also remember when you went down the slide on the bike freaked me out.

That bike reminds me of my first Schwin bike and like yours it had wider tires and push back brakes. The years went by and the world decided that we needed to ride bent over sitting on an unbearably uncomfortable seat while balancing on micro thin tires. Then we had to learn to cycle through 420 gears while we tried to break with our hands. Thank goodness we are evolving back to a more comfortable and sensible design!
I had never considered staying at the Hiltonhead Disney property, but after watching this, I am going to go and stay there! Thank you for sharing this Adam.

Loving the chilli peppers reference and yes little things please us as we get older, it's been boring at work due to covid restrictions and the highlight of our day is counting how many people are on busses that pass 😁
I was at Palmetto Dunes 11 years ago and rode the bike on the beach. I am very much looking forward to my first DVC stay at HHI and cycling all over the island.
HHI is a very special place! I have spent at least one week there, every year of my life, since 1987! You should spend a week or two there in September, or late May/early June.
I do recall when you went flying down the slide and hit that ground and I believe the bicycle was no more LOLLOL I rewatch that a number of times and laughed every time it was insanely funny!! Where are you are now in Myrtle Beach is one of the most beautiful areas that I recall growing up within in Florida. Thanks for the Hitchcock would be proud moment. The lucky residents that live in the communities there Myrtle Beach… Talk about perfection and retirement or just having the wherewithal to have that as a vacation home Nice to see people being happy👍🏻🙋🏻♀️⭐️🙏
Shelter Cove! I miss you! They have kayak trips, day sails and paddle boarding right from that marina, also from Disney’s resort itself. You can play at Palmetto Dunes for a fee - Tennis and Pickle ball. There are free courts at Chaplin Park (Town Of HHI). Parasailing and jet skiing are available very close to you at the Palmetto Bay Marina. The best place for a long, isolated bike ride is Pinckney Island Nature Reserve. HHI is such a special place! There are still tour boats going out. There is nothing like the tidal low country. It’s great for birding too… I know you’re tying for healthy but go to the Sea Shack. Stick to baked or blackened if you’re dieting….

Thanksgiving week 2020 my daughter and I rode bicycles on Treasure Island, FL beach...at night. It's one of the best vacation memories I have with her!
Beautiful and peaceful. I live on Long Island, not far from the beach. I could never live land locked. Even when it's freezing cold, there's no place like the ocean. It's soothes the soul. These videos are great. I'm so glad you're back to doing what you do best. Thank you, its so enjoyable
Adam I use to say after driving a couple of hundred miles you become a “road dog” and then you have to clear that out of your head. Hilton head what a nice way to do that. So it is true golf is big at Hilton head. I think the new routine “ is the new you!
Great news about making changes in your life. It does pay off, you feel better, are healthier. I (at the age of 65) adopted a plant-based diet. There's some real good explanation in a magazine that comes out quarterly called Forks and Knives, which you can pick up at most grocery stores or Barnes and Noble. I lost about 45 pounds safely in six months and have not gained anything back except for 2 or 3 lbs, which I quickly loose to stay at my target weight. It is safe and aid in not getting a miriad of disease that can develop through bad diet choices. I got into it gradually also. I enjoy your videos! Take care Adam!

My son tried many attempts to loose weight. Finally we found something that worked for him. Basically a 1600 calorie diet and drinking mostly water. He was at 234. In five months he is now at 215. Success by mainly drinking water instead of other beverages. Hope you have enduring success in your venture of a healthier lifestyle.
Probably the most peaceful sounding and looking video ever and it even included “the third rule (in a crisis situation)” around 16:00. Love that there are bike paths there. I don’t ride my bike as much as I want because you risk a lot riding with traffic in Osceola and Orange Counties. I would love to know what brand of hammock that is. Would be nice to have one.
Visited Seabrook Island last summer and the beaches weren’t crowded and plenty of beach bike-riders, wildlife, and relaxation. The live oaks full of Spanish moss intermingled with the palmettos made for a picturesque scene, especially at night during a thunderstorm. But I understand the frustration with checkpoints.. had to talk my way on to Kiawah Island. LoL. Oh, BTW I believe the tennis-like game you observed was something called Pickleball. Safe travels!

Definitely felt you on the "Liking the little things" when u get a certain age. I use to live right by the beach when I was 21 and never went 🤦🏿♂️ lived i Bluffton for 5 years 25-30 probably went to the beach maybe 6 times out of that time. Now at 38 I live in North Carolina and I plan on moving back to Hilton Head next year 2023. And when I do THE BEACH WILL BE MY BEST FRIEND lol Thanks for the video great job ✊🏿💪🏿

If you’re in a hot tub and it’s cold out (the best time to hot tub) the steam that comes off your body when you get out will insulate you from the cold for a short period of time. Enough time to get dried off and indoors where its warm. For some reason most hot tubs are sold in the summertime when in fact a hot tub is really a cold weather activity. At least it’s much more enjoyable in the cold in my opinion. Enjoy your videos!
If you come to Charleston let me know I can show you a couple great sites are Charlestown landing and angel oak tree. Lots of plantations also. I have used my membership to go to Hilton head and it’s very cool. I love vero.. did a video tour of the property last year.

HHI is a very special place! I have spent at least one week there, every year of my life, since 1987! You should spend a week or two there in September, or late May/early June.
I do recall when you went flying down the slide and hit that ground and I believe the bicycle was no more LOLLOL I rewatch that a number of times and laughed every time it was insanely funny!! Where are you are now in Myrtle Beach is one of the most beautiful areas that I recall growing up within in Florida. Thanks for the Hitchcock would be proud moment. The lucky residents that live in the communities there Myrtle Beach… Talk about perfection and retirement or just having the wherewithal to have that as a vacation home Nice to see people being happy👍🏻🙋🏻♀️⭐️🙏
Shelter Cove! I miss you! They have kayak trips, day sails and paddle boarding right from that marina, also from Disney’s resort itself. You can play at Palmetto Dunes for a fee - Tennis and Pickle ball. There are free courts at Chaplin Park (Town Of HHI). Parasailing and jet skiing are available very close to you at the Palmetto Bay Marina. The best place for a long, isolated bike ride is Pinckney Island Nature Reserve. HHI is such a special place! There are still tour boats going out. There is nothing like the tidal low country. It’s great for birding too…
I know you’re tying for healthy but go to the Sea Shack. Stick to baked or blackened if you’re dieting….

Adam, my Husband is retiring next year and we’ve been thinking of Bluffton/Hilton Head as a retirement destination. This video has sealed the deal. Now, we just need to find a house and a boat - but not a houseboat! Stay safe, be well!

Thanksgiving week 2020 my daughter and I rode bicycles on Treasure Island, FL beach...at night. It's one of the best vacation memories I have with her!
Beautiful and peaceful. I live on Long Island, not far from the beach. I could never live land locked. Even when it's freezing cold, there's no place like the ocean. It's soothes the soul. These videos are great. I'm so glad you're back to doing what you do best. Thank you, its so enjoyable
Adam I use to say after driving a couple of hundred miles you become a “road dog” and then you have to clear that out of your head. Hilton head what a nice way to do that. So it is true golf is big at Hilton head. I think the new routine “ is the new you!
Great news about making changes in your life. It does pay off, you feel better, are healthier. I (at the age of 65) adopted a plant-based diet. There's some real good explanation in a magazine that comes out quarterly called Forks and Knives, which you can pick up at most grocery stores or Barnes and Noble. I lost about 45 pounds safely in six months and have not gained anything back except for 2 or 3 lbs, which I quickly loose to stay at my target weight. It is safe and aid in not getting a miriad of disease that can develop through bad diet choices. I got into it gradually also. I enjoy your videos! Take care Adam!

I had not thought about that but I think you're right.
My son tried many attempts to loose weight. Finally we found something that worked for him. Basically a 1600 calorie diet and drinking mostly water. He was at 234. In five months he is now at 215. Success by mainly drinking water instead of other beverages. Hope you have enduring success in your venture of a healthier lifestyle.
Probably the most peaceful sounding and looking video ever and it even included “the third rule (in a crisis situation)” around 16:00. Love that there are bike paths there. I don’t ride my bike as much as I want because you risk a lot riding with traffic in Osceola and Orange Counties. I would love to know what brand of hammock that is. Would be nice to have one.

Visited Seabrook Island last summer and the beaches weren’t crowded and plenty of beach bike-riders, wildlife, and relaxation. The live oaks full of Spanish moss intermingled with the palmettos made for a picturesque scene, especially at night during a thunderstorm. But I understand the frustration with checkpoints.. had to talk my way on to Kiawah Island. LoL. Oh, BTW I believe the tennis-like game you observed was something called Pickleball. Safe travels!

Definitely felt you on the "Liking the little things" when u get a certain age.
I use to live right by the beach when I was 21 and never went 🤦🏿♂️ lived i Bluffton for 5 years 25-30 probably went to the beach maybe 6 times out of that time. Now at 38 I live in North Carolina and I plan on moving back to Hilton Head next year 2023.
And when I do THE BEACH WILL BE MY BEST FRIEND lol

If you’re in a hot tub and it’s cold out (the best time to hot tub) the steam that comes off your body when you get out will insulate you from the cold for a short period of time. Enough time to get dried off and indoors where its warm. For some reason most hot tubs are sold in the summertime when in fact a hot tub is really a cold weather activity. At least it’s much more enjoyable in the cold in my opinion. Enjoy your videos!

If you come to Charleston let me know I can show you a couple great sites are Charlestown landing and angel oak tree. Lots of plantations also. I have used my membership to go to Hilton head and it’s very cool. I love vero.. did a video tour of the property last year.
