Dare i say it but watching these vlogs are like stepping back to much more gentle time, everything has that oldie worldie feel, hard to tell with some of the buildings if they are abandoned or still used, really, really enjoying these vlogs, very relaxing to watch, Thankyou Adam

Your backroads trips are so calming and relaxing 😎. It’s amazing how many beautiful areas of America still exist, untouched by developers that obliterate grass , trees and tranquility, in favor of concrete, skyscrapers and multi family living quarters.
Thank you for this journey, through roads less traveled !

I still love to use maps too. Guess I am kinda old school in that regard. I've been a boater all my life and NOAA, the federal agency that creates nautical charts, no longer prints paper ones. They are even stopping "print on demand" charts that they had been offering. Nautical charts are now only available on electronic chart plotters or software programs. Such a shame as far as I am concerned.

Springfield is my hometown. I spent most of my life there. The Snooks store you showed used to be a grocery store many years ago, but the owner/operator retired and it now sells furniture and other things. The Mars Theatre is a much more recent addition to the town, at least during my lifetime. It originally opened in 1945 and closed in 1957. A revitalization project restored the building, which had been converted into an office space in the 1970s. The Mars re-opened in April of 2014.

    • @wchristain

Springfield was where I grew up too! My dad still lives there! I spent many days in my childhood riding my bike all around town. I would stop at the old Dairy Queen, get some ice cream, and drop some quarters in the Pac-man arcade cabinet they had in the restaurant. Springfield really started to get rundown in the late 90s early 2000s after they built that bypass around town, but that revitalization project really made it look beautiful again.

Buck Fever! Buck fever is typically described as the nervousness hunters get when they first sight game. Many hunters have stories about buck fever, and usually they say their hands were shaking so hard that they missed the broadside of a buck from 100 yards away. Means he went hunting. Also those were not antique theater seats. Theater seats are cushioned. Those were School Auditorium seats. Remember how uncomfy those were? You should call this video series "The Scenic Route"... I love the way you present all these old artifacts, buildings and history.

My aunt and uncle lived in Soperton, Georgia for many, many years. on their back porch was a hand pump for washing up when coming in from farming; to eat dinner (southerners ate breakfast, dinner, and supper). Those pumps were on most of the houses back then. There was always a dipper, for a sip of good cool water; especially on a hot day of farming! Soperton is in Truetlen County. It's not too far from Metter (a town I know you went through). Up in Northern Georgia, there are little towns called Duck Town and Turkey Town. I could be mistaken and those two towns could possibly be in southern South Carolina. I've been through them once, back around the middle 70's. I love the moss hanging from those old trees!

George Washington stayed at the Ebenezer Church. And Sherman came thru that property after leaving Atlanta. If you looked at the brick work, you can find finger "prints" in a few of them.

I’m really enjoying your travel videos. In this one you were about 5 miles (as the crow flies) from my home. Keep on keeping on and keeping it real.

Really loved your Georgia spotlights and looking forward to S. Carolina. Learning more about these states that I only drove thru from NJ to FL way back when.

My great-grandfather was born in Guyton, Ga which is just 30 minutes northwest of Savannah. He was born in 1914 & he sold life insurance on trains that would travel out of Savannah in his younger days before becoming a methodist preacher

I had to comment on this, isnt it amazing with that generation how easily they seemingly switched careers? My grandfather was a WW2 fighter pilot, a civilian pilot, then he quit the airlines and also became a pastor.

Adam...Charleston is filled with history just like Savannah. I think one thing that you might find interesting is the story of Denmark Vesey. There is a statue in his honor that stands in his honor and on Bull St. (yes, there is also a bull St. In Charleston) is the Denmark Vesey House.

I MUST SAY I AM TOTALY ENJOYING THESE VIDEOS SO MUCH MORE THAN WHEN YOU WERE VLOGING IN THE PARKS MOST OF THE TIME.
I can not physically travel any more at this time in my life. In fact it's been 8 years since the last time my motorcycle and I traveled across the highways of this awesome country of ours.
I totally thank God for all the memories I have and the many years my motorcycle and I traveled many miles between 15,000 & 20,000 a year. Back then I didn't know about TH-cam or I may have had my own channel. I didn't start watching TH-cam until after the wreck that ended me in this bed. But I'm happy I make my life enjoyable by watching y'all take me with you as you do the traveling for me... LOL...
PLEASE just keep them coming and be blessed in Jesus name... BBE...

Love the old church! Church of the Cross in Bluffton SC is also a beautiful church that was built 1857. You can usually tour it. There are some great restaurants there as well. Cahill’s Market & Chicken Kitchen is awesome!

If you come into NC, I recommend hitting Welcome, NC and going to the RCR Museum. That's the team that Dale Earnhardt raced for and they have A LOT of his cars.

Ellabell...I lived down the road in Pembroke for a year or so, and later had a flipper house in DeSoto, a few hours west. Lived in Columbus for a couple of years too, and spent two years in Hinesville.

My late husband and I had a CB. His nickname on "air" was "Big John" and I was "little sister". I made a lot of friends back then, and I sure miss them.
