Now look, the chap is not actually that old... Ok, so that makes me sound old. Pwww, ok, I take your point, I am older than you. But younger than my Dad, who's 97. But then again, I'm older than Paul. And you're younger than all of us. I hope than clarifies the situation.
Was sorry to hear you news. I've been battling lung cancer since 22. I'm not going to lie, it's going to be tough for you. What has helped me alot was keeping a diary. I could look back on it before going to consultancy meetings, bring it with me while there, so that any questions I had didn't slip my mind and believe me Jingles your going to need it because the amount of information you're going to be bombarded with and the fact that the treatment gives you a severe case of brain fog, in my case. I'd be lost without a reference to look back on.
Also it helps to be hard nosed when starting out, don't be afraid to make your feelings known to those treating you, if you feel like your hearing bull fron said staff ,you probably are.
An attitude of ( your going to have to drag me kicking and screaming to my maker) positive thinking also helps, oh and try going for walks daily because getting out of the prison you'll feel in will definitely help.

My father always told me that the only thing you really own in this lifetime is your name, and you should protect your name and conduct yourself with integrity and respect. You my friend, have done a proud job with your name, thank you for all the laughs and joy you have provided us. Fyi, my father was a radio officer on the Averof during WW2, he was with the ship when the orders were given to scuttle it, and he remained with the ship all through out the war, including Port Said and Bombay, please tell WG to add the Averof to WOWS!!

I always save up the commentary videos you make so I can watch them when I get up in the weekends, me, big tv, cup of coffee and silence. Only consistent routine i have and its the only thing on this fucking rock keeps me sane

This comment is mostly for engagement but:
1) Despite the 305mm guns, the stalin has a lower arming threshold than the Petro, so it can arm on even loght cruisers. Combine that with the short fuse and it rarly overpens if aimed correctly.
2) There are only a handful of ships that can get plunging AP pens in wows. The minotaur needs to be above something like 15km before the impact angle drops below 75⁰. The stalin cannot get plunging pens through the horizontal deck at any range. The citadel on the Brisbane was most likely as a result of the 16mm stern plating being overmatched. If I rememebr correctly, the Brisbane also has a flat transom stern making it really easy to get pens with any cruiser.
Back before CV rework I got a citadel on a Midway from max range with my Minotaur. Only explanation I had was that it went straight down the funnel.
@@beardedchimp the Minotaur is one of the few ships that can get plunging penetrations at long range, but it does seem like you might have got very lucky. Back in the early days of the game the armour was severely bugged, like when I managed to citadel on a Kongo with an HE shell from a kamikaze. There are also some other funny interactions that can still happen; my favourite is that it’s possible to citadel a lot of Japanese ships by bouncing shells off the angled armoured hood above the funnels, causing them to ricochet down into the citadel.
@@MrRedRye "might have got very lucky", I played hundreds of games in my mino back then, only ever saw it happen once. I went full AA spec and acted as a safe bubble for my team. I loved going after CVs as their planes would start being shot down BEFORE they plane spotted me giving them no chance to save the squad. muahahahaha. As a result I probably fired hundreds of thousands of rounds at them only to ever see that citadel once.

i remember finding Tanks long after i'd started with Warplanes (back when you hit the control surfaces and they'd skid through the air like real planes do), and how wild your low-keyed remarks about combat was just like it was with this one. from one old retired salt to another, may King Neptune smile upon you!

Best wishes from this side of the 'pond'. Suggest you look into the equivalent of 'power of attorney' for when you may need someone to speak on your behalf; Suggest you take the 'Royal Strategy' and marry your good friend Rita (solves all sort of issues like inheritance); Suggest you look into the equivalent of a 'living will' etc. Have you joined a 'cancer survivor' group? Lots of good info on survival strategies especially with regards to nutrition and exercise. If this thing turns fatal, you will need a plan for the last fortnight. We will keep you in our prayers and hope to see your bright smiling face for many more years.
