The original sin was not reacting to the torpedoes spotted by his Kagero. First salvo not a threat, he holds course. 2nd salvo shows up 5 econds later - definitely a threat at course and speed - which he holds for another 5 seconds or so before chopping speed and turning out. At the point the second salvo was spotted he could have turned out or in, ready to chop speed once he knew he would be clear of the first salvo. He might have taken one torp from either salvo, but not two from the 2nd.
Part of what happened there was he was starting to turn in right as the first set was spotted, so he was behind the rudder shift. Probably considered continuing to turn in, which would have avoided all the torps, but that would have put him into a very unfair fight against the Kag and the Mass. If he had been a hair quicker he would have only taken one fish turning out. I have no clue why he would continue to roll around and give the Mass that much broadside. Shoulda gone right into a kite.
I expected the Kagero to be more aggressive and push. By the time I realized he was going to run away it was too late. I also had my 4 year old climbing into my lap to watch at the same time. I was honestly suprised I survived as long as I did. I went from elation to utter defeat after I killed the Bismarck only to see we lost the match. Moral of the story, carry harder!
He also has a ship with torpedoes so the mass would not want to around that island if stayed there instead running away. Know your ship or play something with out torpedoes
Actually Jingles, you've got it backwards about the turtleback armour: it makes it virtually impossible to citadel those ships at point blank range (though they do have a weak spot right in front of their A turret), but at very long range, with plunging fire going straight down the main deck, they're easier to citadel than, say, a US battleship (except chances to hit them at such ranges are way worse in basically anything that's not a Slava or a Champagne).
I think the Iowa Class are the best looking BBs. That long sleek hull with the slightly upswept bow and that sweet rounded as I mean stern. The only way he was going to miss the second set was to go full reverse and turn in right at the point they were spotted, he was already turning that way. He didn't actually see the torps until it was too late. And German BBs turn like a TOG in a bog.
Jingles: "Are you sick of Google Chrome? Then let me introduce you to Opera GX!" Me watching the video on Microsoft Edge: "...uuh, why yes I'm tired of Google Chrome."
I mean, they both are based on chromium at the end of the day. The question is, who do you want to sell your data to? Google or Microsoft 🙂 (edge user on desktop here)
The torps that hit him early on were spotted in the middle of his screen at 6:24 and hit him at 6:49. Plenty of time to take action, and more than enough room to have avoided them just by slowing down. The second spread that hit him did so because he sailed in a straight line didn’t change his course for way too long. These cost him the match. If he’d taken precautions and managed to take even one less torp, he probably could have won.
I have seen ads for OperaGX before, but Jingles is the first one to actually showcase it in a way that actually makes me want to at least try it out, even if I might not switch permanently. Well done indeed!
Oh, aint the Lone Queen of the North, Tirpitz. it's also been a while since ever a Tirpitz replay, despite the numerous ships in Warships, Tirpitz is the one that i cherished. (i still have her for years and playing, her Secondary range buff was needed.)
It was the first high tier premium I bought years n years ago. Really liked it, esp the torps, allowing for extra defense, yolo charges and last ditch salvos. Despite having the Bismarck researched long ago, I only recently decided to get it cause I had the unsinkable sam skin. Unfortunately, I got so use to Tirpitz that I frequently end up in a compromising position 5km from enemy bb or something and think "Finally in range for a tor...." and instantly remember "Oh.....ya im not in Tirptiz..."
And of course, you have a teammate who is watching from the sidelines, criticizing his maneuver to the north by saying he was "capping the A line". These players are so tiresome.
I was watching this video and then my 2 year old son walked over to me and I took my headset off. When I turned back to the video I had a fairly obvious realization that a Mighty Jingles clip is immensely improved if you hear the commentary. I love your work, you're the best commentator IMO. Even worse, the Kagero that was with him cried in chat "good job camping the A line" as if he wasn't at the A cap. When you have to carry teammates like these, games end up way closer than they need to be. appears in chat around 12:36.
Thanks to your videos I need to check my equipment and change my setup. I was relatively new to Wows when I purchased the Tirpitz, I hope new players never make the mistake of buying higher tier ships, because there is a serios learning curve

He did not lose on points, the Bismarck got him a second before he got the Bismarck, based on the end battle screen. "All allied warships were destroyed", it says.
Brandenburg's secondary battery is the best in class at the tier among German Battleships, Jingles. Due to its larger complement of 105mm guns, the Brandenburg racks up nearly 15% more DPM before you take any modifiers like flags and Lutjens into account. Zieten only narrowly beats it out in how hard its secondaries can hit, but Zieten sets far fewer fires due to its lower volume of shells.
Hey Jingles, I have an addon installed in firefox that automatically skips sponsored segments in videos on youtube. but I had to skip back and watch your ad in full because it was so interesting and relevant to me, well done.
I would like to point out, if the bismarck had given him a spotted ribbon when Blue spotted them near the end like the talin, it would have given Blue a total of three spotter ribons, and poped Lutjens's healing skill, and let him survive at least one more game tick and win. But I guess the Bismarck hadn't been un-spotted long enough for WoWs to hand out the ribbon. Someone go in and time it to see how close that was to the 90 second timer for that.
FDG is woefully crept at tier IX; it’s better to build it for survival and main battery than its tempting secondaries. At that point, it’s surprisingly bearable.. just not as effective as Bismarck. Those main batteries need more accuracy to keep the ship viable. GK at least has more of them, and Preussen’s are bigger so can overmatch. FDG just shoots farts in the wind.
