How about a tutorial of the rigs you use when jigging? I never jigged for trout i always troll but my 3year old niece is scared of boats so sometimes i need to bank fish. Also your phenix rods and gear you use. TIGHT LINES IN THE NEW YEAR
I looked up these Santa Ana lakes and they have terrible reviews. They also ssid they charge too much, kids $15 and adults $28. And some people claim that their stocking dates are lies. Yet here I see you doing very well fishing. What's the real scoop? I may vacation to California and was thinking of going to these lakes.
They stock heavily and with big fish. You can see their stocking vids online. Just know that this lake is always crowded so it is fished out quickly so limits are not always possible. Also people are always more likely to leave negative reviews online than positive but keep in mind that hundreds fish it a week of during the season so 20 bad reviews over the years isn't bad. I would recommend it for a chance at some monster fish. Although If you don't like big crowds, noise or the thought of losing 28 dollars then stay away. Lastly you don't need a fishing license there so you can subtract what you would have paid for temp CA licence from that 28 dollar fee.
Pit Dawg I don’t go here much because I’m spoiled with eastern Sierra views for my trout fishing. But every now and again I get an urge to fish and the June lake/Mammoth drive is too far for an impromtu drive. So on occasion I come here and do fairly well. Gonna go this evening as a matter of fact 👌🏽
This place is trash I used to work there it gets fished out extremely fast because people love to try and take more then the limit as well as snagging big trout that won't bite I'll stick with the Owens River and pleasant valley in the Eastern Sierras where I limit out so fast.
Kevin Salgado..... 2 lb test? man.... every time I try and tie a knot with 4lb and below I have trouble. Pain In the Ass. I always just stick with 8lb Fluorocarbon
The more expensive the rod, the better. Stocked trout love expensive set ups, they can smell them from miles away. The number of poles doesn’t matter as long as you have at least five-seven hooks on your line.

They just put up dates on screen , but most ther stocking videos are repeats recorded putting Thursday dates on video same videos if you look at all

What's a good spot I've fished it about a handful of time s with not much luck
Try Sandy Beach on the big lake. People have a lot of success there both jigging and fishing with bait.....good luck!
