  • We figured that because it's a purpose-built alternative fuel vehicle, the 2020 Hyundai Ioniq HEV Limited would have great fuel economy. But there is something else that we didn't expect. M.S.R.P. - $32,310.

    Very nice hybrid. They placed the design somewhere between the exuberantly-designed Toyota Prius and the car-like Honda Insight. It's functional, affordable, and does what it offers - great gas mileage. One of the things I appreciate with the Ioniq is the large fuel tank capacity. At nearly 12 gallons, it squeezes out 600+ miles on one tank. That is impressive!

      Exactly. That fuel range is very impressive, Herman Wooster. Thanks for watching!

    Hello Chris, I am in the market for a new or late model Ionic HEV. Your video is very informative and appreciated. I have a friend who owns three of these vehicles, including a 2021. He loves them.

    Hyundai’s are really built to last. Even the regular gas vehicles last long. They don’t get enough credit as a company

      @@stephenmckinnell7791 :D OK, so I'm very happy with it so far. The only thing I regret is not having electric seats but the car itself is exactly what I wanted. My avg is 5.1 liters per 100 km (yeah, you do the maths, imperial system :p) for mixed driving so nothing to complain about that. The driving is smooth and sharp (and comfortable). I like the trunk size even though I scratched it with a luggage 1 week in. Great job :/ The multimedia screen is great, and I love the Apple/Androïd Carplay.

    • @stephenmckinnell7791
      @stephenmckinnell7791 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, In fact I have had one for the last three years, it’s a very nice car. I’m thinking of moving to a pure electric version early next year, I am on a scheme for disabled drivers. If I go electric I think it’s between the Ionique and the Peugeot e208 or e2008. I usually change type, but the Hyundai is probably good enough to keep to this one. The only thing that might change my mind is the speed control on the right side of the steering wheel. I had a stroke so my right hand is kaput! 😊

    Wow... This car is packed for that price. But I think it will be a lot more expensive here in the Netherlands/Europa...
    Here we pay for the weight of the car (also)... I know... That's pretty retarted, where as the full electric car is taxfree...
    Great video again!

    • @AutoAcademics
      @AutoAcademics  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow. That's interesting to know, FrankypankyV8. There are different tax regulations all throughout the U.S., depending upon what State you live in, so we definitely understand. Either way, this Hyundai is still a good value with all the features it comes with. Thanks for sharing and for watching!

    Does Hyundai offer AWD on any of the three ionic models? Hard to do without in the northeast, and I'd imagine some of the midwest (Minnesota comes to mind).

    • @AutoAcademics

      Not that were aware of, RobMcDougall. At least, not yet. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!
