    Uhraine, Firstly I like when you say “ You get what I say” instead of “ You understand” good job! I am glad you got your manager involved right away . Please stay far from trouble as Satan is lose ,and using the crazies to get souls. Perhaps you could come up,with a way to prevent this from happening again by telling your customers once they are seated about the dinner policy,as most people don’t bother to read, so I’d say suggest this to your manager ,and I’m sure it will prevent this from happening again. Blessings ❤

    Uhraine please be careful some of these people are troubled and will set you up ,let them know at the beginning how things work at the Restaurant and if the time pass on they are still there just go over and let them know again if they stay until dinner time and take the food they will be paying for it at that cost, if you have a problem with your customers call the supervisor or manager, take care and all the best

    Even though the signs are there, remember not everyone can read. After today, try make it a practice to inform the customers when they are seated. I know you shouldn't have to as it is there, but this should save you and your coworkers a lot of stress in the future. Also when they are raising their voice and louding up demselves, try keep your voice at a calm level, no need to match dem. Remain in control. Blessings 💞

    The same policy is here in the US...some restaurants put up a sign to let you know this food is for dinner when it's close to dinner

    Keep it level re ur work. They say the customer is always right. Not everyone reads. Take it easy. What if the customer.er can only afford their meal. You can't force them to pay tips. When you seem to impose not good. Some people tends to pay base on satisfaction!

    Suggestion.
    1. The Restaurant put their company Policies Regarding Eatung Times and Gratuities in a Big sign behind the Buffet table with lights shining on it.
    Or
    2. They have a Printed Card with the Policies on in Bold and laminated.
    Each server takes the card to the table and hands them the card as he introduces himself and takes the drink orders.
    So the customers will read the polight card with the two Policies.
    Keep the card short and to the point.
    Then you the server say.
    "" Sir or Mam, This is a copy of the Restaurants Policies so that you have no surprises and can enjoy your experience with us today. "" 😊

    Never you argue with the customer try de-escalating and have your managers deal with the situation should it become more than you. I'll tell you this no matter how many times you write a sign and put it in whaterver colour and font they will never read it. As a suggestion you should reiterate the policy before seating especially with large groups as they can become problematic.

    From they started to act up, you should have said “I’ll get the manager”. Remember you are black and you have a foreign accent. From the minute you raised your voice, that set up a whole cascade of things.
    In these places, the customer is always right and if it got further up in management it probably wound have had a different ending. They are all about customer service because that’s the essence of their business.

    As you stated you did not remind the customers of the policy. You never react. Always de-escalate a situation. Your approach to the situation was one that was a little too aggressive also. Yes you realized that they were doing something wrong. I think you need to also look at your tone of voice when addressing customers.
