How did you make out? I once replaced my Prius battery bur it didn't fix my last Prius. My current 2012 Prius now has a red triangle of death. I replaced the speed sensor to get rid of one code but still can't get it to start. It's so hard to find ppl to work on these cars in my area. I replaced my battery with a DR Prius reconditioned and warranted one (AU $1850 / USD $1205)and was still getting the triangle after a while of driving, turns out the inverter coolant pump was not being effective and a cheap fix. Easy to check, look in coolant reservoir for proper flow. Seems to have fixed it. The battery wasn't good anyway so no regrets. I was still getting good fuel economy so the battery was ok.
Thanks Vic! Did u clean/replace buss bars on the other side? Thank u for all u do for prii. I hope u start doing on gen 4 prius. Ur videos are awesome!

I wanted to know how I can ask you a question.. The question is can I charge the complete hybrid battery by simply attaching a second battery to the car inside the car and driving it? Or by starting the car with one battery and then switching the inverter leads to the dead battery? I know it would be very dangerous and require a lot of care.
I have the same code and I have gone through and tested every cell one by one. The HV system seems fine and I’m leaning towards the AC compressor? Any advice on how to test it? Considering once the code trips the ac does not work…

No codes showing I get home take HV battery cover off put brake on put gas down to test charging not Long cooling fan on showing one bar on dash checked HV battery over 400v my meter only goes to 400v. Just watched this video. So 3xs in one year the triangle of death happened with code p0a90 bringing the car to a halt. Hubby took out the battery, we cleaned the bus bars and silver plated them. Again, it happened as we were going up hill. Every time this has happened, we were going up hill. The fan, we cleaned but hubby thinks it should have spinned a little better and we questioned whether it needs replaced. It works but maybe intermittently - we don't know. We do know the battery has gotten super hot and that may be why it comes to a halt. So, I'm thinking the bottle caps MIGHT be the answer we have been seeking. I hope so because I'm really tired of being stranded. Will get back to you. Feel free to comment if you think there is something else we should be looking at. I'm hoping we do not need to worry about the transaxle.

If not, try getting one of the parts stores retrieve the codes for you. Many of them will offer the service for free. If I have made a repair video involving that code it will be in my Prius repair playlist.

Here is my issue. I was having a cooling issue blown head gasket. But I put some blue devil it helped the shaking and I drove it just fine. Then got radiator no heat I flushed and changed water pump. Soon after that car drives fine then shut off. There is a yellow car with ! In the middle which is charging issue. Main 12 volt went down. I charged it. Car started but now it won't drive past 7 miles till engine shuts off and won't turn on. I pull over and shut everything off and gas engine comes on but moves slow. This driving me nuts. do grid chargers or superchargers for prius gen 3 actually work on a hybrid battery that has sat for over 6 months without starting? they go for $300 grid charger, to $500 for super (fast) charger ?
