We always have all our fat ground because it makes rendering quicker than when it's in chunks. BTW...You are looking really great - I just watched a vid from you in Nov and I am amazed at how much better you look (always pretty of course) but you just look so healthy! Love your content - Liz
Anita you are such a great teacher!! Everything looks so good too. I've made beef cheeks, I guess similar to your pork jowls? VERY fatty but oh so good!!! I just cooked them in my Instant Pot and then browned up in the air fryer. As for bone marrow, I mixed some butter into mine and whipped it up. Marrow is pretty bland on it's own so adding a bit of butter helped me, and yes, I usually always use salted butter or add salt to unsalted. Excellent video, thanks so much!
Thank you so much for sharing this information. I have a little trouble with fats, but keep working at it. You look thinner all the time, and I’m curious about your progress, even though I don’t place a lot of importance on “weight” (numbers). Your videos are great!

I am fat fasting for the very first time today. I just made fat bites for the first time as well. I used a 1/2 lb of salted grass fed butter, turned it to brown butter, and added 1/2 a cup of bacon fat. I portioned them in 1 tbsp portions, which works out to 106.4 calories per portion.
I want to start a fat fast for the Dave Feldman Protocol. In my search your amazingly detailed video came up. I am so appreciative. Thank you for doing this video.❤
Fascinating! I'm thinking of mixing beef, bacon, butter, and avocado fats together to try and expand the nutrition and also maybe let them be a little softer right out of the fridge. Maybe I will add cream cheese and cooked onion since I'm a little more keto. Love the time lapse of Teddy! He's so precious!
I'm never investing in Wagyu after investigating what makes it special. The cows are force-fed an unnatural diet (very high carb) from birth in order to make them fat.
I'm liking the sound of the butter/tallow combination. I have the wagyu tallow and it's so soft and fluffy on its own. Makes a nice gentle skin creme although with a very light beef scent. I'll have to figure out how to change that 😂
Thank you Anita. Your body is sure changing, looking good. I’ve been wanting to ask you ever since you moved into your new house, what color and sheen is on your cabinets, if you know? I absolutely love them.
I'm so jealous that you have access to jowls. It's like bacon made out of fat...and practically only fat. FAT BACK IS AMAZING. I cut it into french fry sized strips. Cook low/medium in butter just enough to get it hot and to make the pork skin edible. I call them fat fries.
Love the Ted Cam awww! He kept looking & tilting his head “mom, mom, look down here” lol! Thanks for sharing your fat fast ideas! You are really creative!
27:30, when making a Beurre Noisette cut into small cubes and melt low and slow in a small sauce pan, no need to stir. Take off the heat and let the bubbles settle if you want to check on how the proteins are browning. Alternatively wait for a smell of hazelnuts ("noisette" in French hence the name) then take off the heat, add salt and herbs (if you're that kinda carnivore) watch for a little spitting when adding anything to it.
Anita, what a great show. I wanted to share this information. Dr. Ben Bikman started he uses silicone in his home for cooking. He had done the research and felt it is safe. I had wondered if it was ok. So, like you said it is up to each person to use it or not. I have been looking for macros on beef marrow. Thank you so much for the information. I take my rendered fat and pour on a tray lined in parchment paper. I put it in the refrigerator. When it is solid I cut it in squares with a pizza cutter. I have been thinking about sprinkling can't on top . I the bag it , weigh it and write grams on sandwich bag. That way I just grab my candy and enter the number in the cronometer app. I love how you explain everything do well. 😘

Slim and trim young lady!! Thank you for all the ideas. I think tallow would be very difficult for me. I did make some brown butter bites. I’m also having trouble with butter but I can handle a butter bite when frozen. I do want to try the hog jowl fried. I’m a Deep South southerner and hog Jowl has been used a lot, but boiled with greens! Yummy!
Great recipes. Just some advices that has helped me in my process of desinflammation, I eat some snacks of cocoa butter no sugar of course, that are so good for women hormones, also I try to use ghee mixed with himmalayan salt, better than simple butter. It has lactose and the salt might be artificial. Also I make colageen candies: 25 grams of unflavored gelatin dissolved in 150 ml of cold water. In a hot pot with 150 ml of water dissolved some strawberry juice or any keto fruit. You can add stevia if you like. Then mix the dissolved gelatin with the hot water and fruits, mix very well until it dissolved. Put the product into silicone molds, after that , refrigerate for 2 hours. They're good resources for our bones, joints and skin . I hope this recipe helps you.😘
Watching again also just ended Fat Fast with great ending G66/K5.1. I first render the fat might be protein on skins and cell membrane. I am skating here on ice I am sure hasn’t been researched fully but protein is a stop to Autophagy. My favorite fat is rendered from bacon . Hi Anita! 👋 I am intrigued with the fat fast items you have shared...you showed hog jowl, but that is actually a staple for us in the Southern US as a component for the New Year's Day meal. I love smoked jowl better, but either is delicious! 😋 😋 😋 Ok...math time...8 Tbsps plus 8 Tbsps = 16 Tbsps x 3 = 48 tsps. For 24 pieces, that would be 2 tsps each. 😊 God bless 🙌 ❤️💙💜 ~Lana

Great video Anita. I’m still a bit confused about how to do a fat fast but this was sure helpful.
Brilliant video. I have not been eating enough fat and this has given me lots of ideas.

Perfect timing for me to find this video, we raise our own beef, pork & chicken - just got back 2 beef & 2 hogs from the butcher. Started 80/20 today and really wanted to know how I could use the suet/lard (fat) with my meals other than rendering and frying in. We always have all our fat ground because it makes rendering quicker than when it's in chunks. BTW...You are looking really great - I just watched a vid from you in Nov and I am amazed at how much better you look (always pretty of course) but you just look so healthy! Love your content - Liz
Teddy's cracking us up haha. He's a patient little guy though.
I've lost over 130lbs, still losing very slowly but surely! And thanks for watching!
Congratulations 🎉
I think you are on to something. I haven't done a fat fast yet but approaching 80/20 (basically cutting my protein way down) has gotten my hunger and also sweet taste urges under control. After nearly a year my wt is going down again . Thank you so much .
Stop 😂🛑
It does seem to kill sweet tastes and greatly increase satiety
I love highfat
That u can lose wgt while doing it is phenomenal!
I just did not, my BMR is practically nil so I rly was just eating too protein with that fat.
@@maryannalbertson3349stop? Why?
I cook my long marrow bones in my sous vide cooker at 168F for 2 hours. I add a bit of butter and salt and stick blend it. Perfection!
Oh thank you for this! Ive been wondering what to do with my bones! Perfect perfect ❤❤❤😋
Thanks for this video. You have inspired me to try making browned butter/duck fat bites. I will let you know how they go…
Great video Anita! Thank you for sharing! Have you tried taking your egg yolk muffins slice & air fry .. Perfect with the roasted bone marrow.. flake salt is a fat fast
Best friend!!! You’re absolutely amazing! Thank You again! Love&light from California ❤❤
Great idea, thank you! Something to spread it on! 💗
I love the idea of half butter and half tallow! I have done butter and bacon grease before. I was hoping to see what you do with the hog jowls! I buy jowl bacon from a local butcher but not tried regular uncured jowl yet.
By the way...tallow is an excellent skin cream!
The hog jowls will be in another fat fast video!
I'd like to see how the jowls are made also.
I just started following you & so glad I found your channel!! Thank you for all of your helpful tips! I am so looking forward to watching some of you past vids! ❤️
Oh my gosh, you look fantastic! I'm so glad for this video. Hugs Anita!
Thank you so much!
Such an interesting idea to mix the butter and tallow. I might try that with bacon grease or lard too. I can't handle them by themselves.
I would rather eat fatty bacon than bacon grease
I haven’t eaten bacon in a long time (beef bacon is delicious!) but I loved the fatty pcs. As a kid tho, I would rip off all the fat and leave it in my plate LOL same for steaks, only eat the lean. I was so wrongggggg
I like that idea!
@@KetogenicWoman Thank you! I was a chef for 20 years
@@properhumanmama I now have a whole bag of these in my freezer, I love them!
@@KetogenicWoman they taste like really good popcorn!
BTW I lost 9.9 lbs doing a 3 day fat fast
I think you are close to a perfectionist!🤗
I want to start a fat fast for the Dave Feldman Protocol. In my search your amazingly detailed video came up. I am so appreciative. Thank you for doing this video.❤
oh! I have not heard of this Dave Feldman protocol, I need to google it!
Thank you for sharing your ideas it is quite a challenge to come up with a way to create variety when all you're eating is fat.
Avo oil has nothing ur not getting from meats & eggs
This video comes just in time! I just started my fat fast today and have no idea what to eat tomorrow! 😊
That tallow after hardened is like eating a candle IMO. Wagyu fat sold on amazon is really good.
I'm never investing in Wagyu after investigating what makes it special. The cows are force-fed an unnatural diet (very high carb) from birth in order to make them fat.
Can you add a link?
I use beef tallow as Neisha talked of as a moisterizer on my lips and hands.
I'm liking the sound of the butter/tallow combination. I have the wagyu tallow and it's so soft and fluffy on its own. Makes a nice gentle skin creme although with a very light beef scent. I'll have to figure out how to change that 😂
Look for Bumblebee Apothecary here on TH-cam for making tallow balm that doesn’t smell like beef. 🥰
I'd be afraid of attracting the neighborhood pups! 😅😍
Add drops of lavender essential oil to some of the tallow. That’ll knock out the smelliness.
Anita, you are so pleasant to watch! ..."Bless you 🙏😊💕
😍 Thank you!
You are so inspiring. I hadn't thought about a fat fast. A new tool in the arsenal.
Thank you Anita. Your body is sure changing, looking good. I’ve been wanting to ask you ever since you moved into your new house, what color and sheen is on your cabinets, if you know? I absolutely love them.
All I know is that the whole kitchen is from IKEA, so it would be one of their colors.
@@KetogenicWoman thank you, I’ll have to see if I can find it.
I'm so jealous that you have access to jowls. It's like bacon made out of fat...and practically only fat. FAT BACK IS AMAZING. I cut it into french fry sized strips. Cook low/medium in butter just enough to get it hot and to make the pork skin edible. I call them fat fries.
I am definitely going back to my butcher's freezer to get that! I saw it there but chose the jowls!
There is a small bodega style grocery near me. They have a lot of things that you are talking about. Love to go there.
Thank you, Anita. I very much appreciate everything you share. I always look forward to your new posts.
Ps. I love your videos, keep up the great content 😊.
Love your videos, watched a couple of them by now. I especially appreciate how the ads are included right where there's a natural break in the videos so there's no real interruption
You have so many great options and it all looked delicious. Can’t wait to try this.
I made tallow and browned butter bites this morning. Oh my, those are really good! Butter makes the tallow taste much better. 😊
I mixed my tallow with butter too and tastes a lot better not waxy used more butter than tallow
Thank you for all you provide to us!
Wow this is awesome. I don’t do keto , I am doing carnivore
I'm too am a carnivore and her content is great!
love you! thank-you for your wonderful videos and such honest and transparent conversations! xoxox
Pork jowels 😆. Sounds so proper 😁. ...
In the south we call them "hog jaws" and they go great in a big pot of turnip greens! 😋
lol, I like your name better!
I’ve only heard jowls or cheeks
In NC, TN, AL and MS
Anita, I don’t know if it’s just me or if you are seeing a difference but you are looking smaller every video. Something must be happening whether the scales show it or not. You look GREAT! Yummy!
Or in beans!
LOVE the Ted Cam! LOL Great info and how-to. Thank you so much.
I hope this recipe helps you.😘
Thank you for sharing!
Goodness, that looks good, odd as it sounds. My, you are such a good and rather funny keto friend. Thanks. 😊✨
I love the Ted cam and speech bubble captions.
Watching again also just ended Fat Fast with great ending G66/K5.1. I first render the fat might be protein on skins and cell membrane. I am skating here on ice I am sure hasn’t been researched fully but protein is a stop to Autophagy. My favorite fat is rendered from bacon . Maybe I am sick of it but Irish Amish still butter isn’t as pleasing. People have personal rules and also personal ones they ignore. I drink tea all daylong knowingly with minimal carbs in the leaves. I am 80 so in the Alzheimer’s range I just really want to keep my brain.
Good work on protecting your brain, those awesome ketones you are generating will keep you sharp! Yes, for those fasting eating protein will break the fast as far as I understand it. Don't worry about people's 'rules', do what works for you.
I never pay attention to the "macros". To me, in my own carni diet, they mean nothing. But the recipes are worth trying them all!
I'm your new fan I love listening to you your voice calms me and I love learning new things on my health journey
Thank you for sharing I'm interested in doing the fast fat I've been doing 5 Oz of butter every day
Loved your presentation . I think I liked the beef trimmings the best but like the other tings to. Thank you for your video.
You are so welcome!
You look fantastic. I've been following you for a while. Wow! 💜
I can see such a difference in you. Your face is looking so slim!! I need some guidance for how to set my macros! I am doing something wrong
I noticed that also.
It starts with calculating your daily protein requirement! I go over that in this video and also provide the calculation details in the video notes: th-cam.com/video/0MN5kv8G3SA/w-d-xo.html
Really interesting information! I’m going to the butcher shop tomorrow.
Brilliant video thank you so much . I always wondered what fat fasting was ❤ love it im definitly going to add that to my.carbivore life
I can't get over how beautiful you look! I have been watching you for a very long time (thanks for all your hard work!!). Maybe it's that rockin gray and red kitchen - naw - it's you! You are so entertaining and intelligent. Fun to watch and keep up with. Ted Cam - make me holla!!!!
Thank you so much!!💗
"Love your tallow/butter cookies"!!!.😮❤
Amazing work
My local grocery store, that has a real butcher in the back does not carry Suet. If you can believe it, both of the men working there did not even know what suet was. I had to spell it for them…they still had no idea. And I live in Los Angeles! So I found a great place online and ordered it. Cannot wait to try your recipes. Thank you Anita.
Surprising that they didn't know what it was!
Where?
If he didn't know he is not qualified to be called a butcher, just tell him I want to buy or get the fat you trim off steaks, rib fat is premium flavour imo
@@daleval2182 I am not that versed in butcher stuff but it was definitely weird. This was at Ralph’s which is a big grocery chain - at least here in CA.
They will not sell trimmed fat to customers here in MS
They claim they use it in ground beef
All the stores. I asked every one in this region
Grrrrrrrrrr 😞
Your dog is cute…his little movements to get your attention are pricelless
I just can't thank you enough for all your ideas. So excited to now find a use for the beef tallow by mixing it with butter.
A roasted marrow bone of 20-25’ is great, like buttery when spread on your burger or steaks! I browned it for 1’ maybe before putting it in a small dish to cool & then spread! Yummy
Congratulations on the weight loss 👏👏👏👏
Because my weight loss had stalled, I was on a three day fat fast when I pulled up your video. After watching this I made the butter/tallow bites. Delicious! They seem lighter than the 100% Butter ones. Less 'rich' perhaps. A great use for the tallow I save. I would never had thought to combine them, so thank you for the tip. Day three, I saw a 3.2 lb. loss.
Yay congrats! Butter has gone up so much so it seemed a good way to also save a little bit of money!
Wow I’ve never lost an oz from multi day water fasts!
Good for u!
I use tallow on my skin. I mix tallow with cod liver and iodine.
I love your channel so much ❤ thank you for all the content you make. The effort and time you put in is greatly appreciated!
You are so welcome!
You look healthier and fitter every time I tune in!!
When reading my WW magazine 😍 I had to check to see if it was really 😅 🙃 you.♥️ how good you are looking 😍. I am on medications that keeps me struggling to lose. I would like to go cold turkey on them but not during the winter when I can't get out to walk.
@Ketogenicwoman
Try the tallow frozen. Nice crunch and so much easier to eat!
I love frozen bacon 😂
Anita, I love your videos and information! Thank you for sharing! My question is around fat consumption and GI responses. Did you (or others) need to gradually increase the fat in your diet to avoid bathroom emergencies? Do most people consume and process lots of fat without issue? Thanks for any insight as I work to increase my daily fats.
Yes! it took me all of November to build up to where I am now!
Eat ur fat rm temp at most. Chilled is best.
Slowly titrate up, never have alot at once.
Hi Anita! 👋
I am intrigued with the fat fast items you have shared...you showed hog jowl, but that is actually a staple for us in the Southern US as a component for the New Year's Day meal. I love smoked jowl better, but either is delicious! 😋 😋 😋
Ok...math time...8 Tbsps plus 8 Tbsps = 16 Tbsps x 3 = 48 tsps. For 24 pieces, that would be 2 tsps each. 😊
God bless 🙌 ❤️💙💜 ~Lana
lol, I know I should never do math on the top of my head! And I'm making pork jowls a Northern thing now, lol! 😍😂🎄
@@KetogenicWoman it's delicious, for sure! 😋 Glad you found and like it! 😊 Maybe you will find the smoked kind...it's amazing! 😋
I tried beef bone marrow raw 1-1/2 years ago, after cooking it for 4 years and have not cooked it since. I can eat tallow and raw suet, but I'll try the 50/50 butter/ tallow. Thanks Anita!
ok I need to toughen up and try these things raw!
How do you access the bone marrow when it’s raw?
@@francopp1124 I scrape it out with a dull knife. Now I get the bones "canoe cut' which is easier to scrape out. Be careful of small bone fragments. Feel them out with your tongue. I thoroughly mix marrow of 2-3 bones with 2 raw egg yolks and less than a teaspoon of honey sometimes. If you like the taste of butter, it is equally good on it's own.
Thank you for all your videos and information for us Carnivores, love the experiments! Just wanted to share what I put in my coffee…I blend a Tbs of drained beef fat into my coffee instead of butter. It makes a delicious beefy latte! I use a high speed blender to really make it frothy, delicious!
I love that idea!
I do a large fatty latte with 2 TB of butter, 2 TB of lard or tallo, 4 TB raw heavy cream, 3 eggs, whipp it up and top the froth with pink salt. Yummie!
But the protein in the eggs? Is that still fasting?
@@mindingmybusiness6309 oh, no that would not be total fasting, but if you leave out the whites, that brings it back down. It has very low protien that way. Yolks are high fat. Depends on the ratios you're looking for.
@@Qodesh59 ok
So you add those fats to a coffe latte?
@@carlahines2971 yes it’s amazing. I froth it all up with an immersion blender. And then sprinkle good salt on the froth. If you don’t want any protein you could leave out the eggs or maybe just do one yolk for nutrition. The eggs make it froth nice
I want to drink cofffee and butter in my breakfast meal, but can I have stevia in my coffee during a fat fast? Thank you for this video. There is not much on fat fasts specifically. Most are very general videos so your video helps tremendously!
That is entirely up to you. Some people can handle it and some can't so you'll have to make that call for yourself. Glad the video was helpful!
I love and appreciate your videos so much! You help me keep looking forward! Many thanks❣️ 😊
I'm so glad!
