In reality, many of these misunderstood cultures originated in China, and this game is just the beginning of helping everyone rediscover and understand Chinese heritage.
It is because Japan and Korean commercialized their culture first especially in the west where it was romanticized in film and cartoons. The U.S also gives preferential to showing japanese and korean culture first because of geopolitics. Hence most people in the west had the wrong impression that Chinese culture and architecture originated from korea and Japan when it is the other way around. But this is what makes this game so good because it does show the unique culture, setting, architecture and myth of China in high quality that is hardly shown to the rest of the world. To be fair Journey to the West was also a very popular read in the west back in the past. but in the last 20 years the U.S and some countries are really trying hard to erase "chinese influence" from their citizen so more and more they try to block. They want to portray China as an enemy so anything positive they try to block or misinterpret into something negative. Sad state of affair to be honest haha.

Explain to everyone why the Monkey King lost the battle while holding his head in pain. It is because he is wearing the Tight Band Curse on his head. The reason why the Monkey King wears the Tightrope Curse can be explained from the storyline of Journey to the West. The Monkey King is a very powerful character, but also a character who has a lot of backbone and does not give in easily. When Wukong first converted to Buddhism, Guanyin was worried that he would not obey her, so she gave his master, the Tang Monk, a tight-band spell. The tight-band incantation is a magical headband. When the Tang Monk recited the incantation, the Monkey King would get a splitting headache, thus forcing him to obey the Tang Monk. The purpose of the incantation was to restrain the Monkey King's wild nature. Apparently, when transformed into a bird, someone chanted the tight-band incantation, causing the Wukong to lose the battle in agony.
For foreign friends interested in Wukong, I recommend reading the ancient classic novel "Journey to the West," which is filled with Chinese monster legends. Although these stories are not real, the author used them to satirize the social issues of 16th-century Ming Dynasty China. As a Chinese person, I have read "Journey to the West" many times in my childhood, and its plot is truly captivating. Despite being just text, its storyline rivals that of Japanese manga.
For those who find the novel a bit hard to consume, it's a classic novel after all. You can try the Chinese TV series "Journey to the West" made in the 90s. Though it's a pretty old show now, it's surely a classic. Most kids born in China in 70s, 80s and 90s even, grew up with fond memories of that show. I'd even say it's love by many in Asian and southeast Asian.
Yes... The tuber look of the Keeper was intentional. The Chinese word translated as "Keeper" in the game literally means "earth", "ground" or sth. In Chinese mythological worlds non-human beings are able to cultivate intelligence and human looks after a long time of existence. That's why the keeper bears some characters of the vegetations in the moutain, representing the will of the natural environment.
Correction... I might be wrong about this part. Not sure if the keeper was a vegetable that gained immortality on its own or it was a low-level god sent by the Celestial Court and incarnated in a random vegetable (you know, like a government official starting from grass-roots work...)

Those five giants are the guardian deities in Buddhism, known as the "Four Heavenly Kings(四大金剛)," along with the largest one, which is likely "Acala(不動明王)," also known as the Immovable Wisdom King.
no,bro. The four smaller giants are the gods who guard the four gates of the divine realm, east, west, north, and south respectively, and they are collectively called The higher giant is called 巨灵神. If you want to learn more, you can search for their Chinese names on Wikipedia and translate them into English
Just followed you 😂 you seem to have missed an important item before the bullgard. There was a Buddha head statue where the monkey disappeared before a small waterfall, which contains the important item
ErLang is the strongest fighter in the celestial court although he himself looks down on many gods (excluding Wukong in the journey to the west) and lives outside the court. He's usually a good icon in Chinese mythology and I've no idea what he is turning to in this story. Anyway, ErLang and Wukong are always the best match-up (probably like the Lakers and Celtics in the old days).
He is not the strongest warrior. Strictly speaking, he is not even a god. He is a saint. His body has never died. In the temple in Guanjiangkou, Zhejiang Province, he is just a demigod. There are many stronger than him. If you have read the relevant Chinese mythology, there are many people who can fight Sun Wukong to a draw. Yang Jian is just one of them.
He was only the strongest warrior sent by Wukong when he caused havoc in the Heavenly Palace, but that didn't mean he was the strongest warrior in the Heavenly Palace. There were many stronger warriors in the Heavenly Palace. Perhaps they could defeat him with one move.

Nice stream and nice streamer!
I see you were determined and stubborn like me on the wandering wight dude. It took me about the same amount of attempts to get him and like you I was so sad I couldn't consume the essence :( Bravo on the kill!
Game recognises game ;) 😂
If you upgrade your gourd you can consume the essence at the bonfire shrine
Envy the multitasking skillsets that these gamers have
IGN says otherwise on the "critiquing a game doesn't mean you hate i" thing😭 a TON of people genuinely do that
Those five giants are the guardian deities in Buddhism, known as the "Four Heavenly Kings(四大金剛)," along with the largest one, which is likely "Acala(不動明王)," also known as the Immovable Wisdom King.
Played the game since it came out I’m at a level 151st play through and for some reason, I’ve got the true ending all upgraded gear minus some secret weapons, and I’ve got the true ending
im chinese, we literally watch journey to the west and dragon ball growing up. Fun fact, GOKU and Sun wukong are both 孙悟空 in chinese and japanese, the goku you guys know obviously based on 孙悟空 in journey to the west which the book version of it was written in MING dynasty 400 years ago.
The graphic is amazing ! The boss is pretty hard to fight, I count pass the baby boss.
Great kickoff to the playthrough!
YER A LOVELY
Game Science make journey to the west cool again
your facial expressions are beautiful
Goku, Asura, and Wukong.
B站来的😘
looks amazing
I'm genuinely loving it
So Cool Java just picked it up
clean gameplay 👌🏽
Wish I was in live chat to tell you kill the wolf with dual fire blades first before trying the big blue bald dude.
The game is #1 as of now and you are so beautiful❤❤❤
I fought the boss in Baiyi many times before I defeated him.
There's no way you're gonna run this game at 120fps 4k. Limit it to 60.
Maybe I should, but I like playing on PC for the higher frame rate! I'll try capping at 60 later on
@@itsjavachip I've a 4080, had to turn the RT off and cap the fps ... It's way too dense for 4k.
I'm Kun Kun, and I want to be your friend
little black zi
We love Java!!!😊
Dragon ball Z characters all inspired from journey to the west, not just goku…
nice game
china's made game & 20M players on day one of launch - wow!
Playing it in Chinese with subs, voice acting good but even with that the mouth sync isn’t entirely accurate. English voice acting is pretty good
Life is far more challenging than games, don't be deterred by those ostentatious demon kings
love form China
Good ol' Jaecheondaesong
New here , this game is beautifull the sound, boss and map look great
Good job and nice stream !
Hes like lobo in dysnasty warriors i couldn’t remember that
Game looks awesome but I'm worried about the PS5 version.
I think this might run well only on a beefy PC.
I know there're some optimisation issues, but I thought that was mainly on PC?
I have it on ps5, playing it on performance mode has been fine 99% of the time. I usually play games with performance mode but just to see I tried the other two modes and they may as well not be there on ps5. Frame rate was no good, so instantly back to performance mode.
@@punishedfist Interesting because for example in FF16 I enjoyed the quality mode at 30fps.
@@Bahamut998 maybe youd be ok with balance or quality in Monkey then. I'm one of those 60pfs assholes hehe
Do you recommend this game?
yes! I definitely do
Good game and beautiful girl playing it,so good😊hhhh
In the opening scene, Wukong steps on a cloud of white color. .... What is that white color? You may not have noticed it and don't know where it comes from .... That white color is called the Kendoo Cloud.
Maybe need to knock on the bell
I hated when they depict Erlang Shen as a bad person. Yeah, his arrogant, but not bad.
Yes the feet cam
javachip very beautiful
By the way how do people make the staff glow red? I don't really understand the staff mechanic yet.
it's showing when i have an attack buff!
@@itsjavachip oh, but how do you do that to make it buff?
I am still stuck on the Wondering Wight shawty
Fight the other boss first if you haven’t already! It massively helps
@@itsjavachip I finally beat him! Holy moly, just watching your fight properly now, you made it look easy shawty?! Now I am stuck on the White snake bugger! (edit), holy moly you made it look so easy!!!!
Oh nice to meet you,you look soooo beautiful❤

What to press in pc to drink portiona and wht portion we need to drink i keep on dying here anyone help
Very nice 3Dwow
I finally found it, haha
Welcome in! 😊
Can anyone please give me a definitive answer….
Is this game a Souls Like????
There are so many mixed opinions..
The game looks amazing but unfortunately I just don’t have the time or patience for a souls like..
God of war and Ghost of Tsushima are about my limit.
If you play on normal difficulty for those games, wukong will be more challenging compared to those, but less tough compared to souls like. You don't have to worry about losing xp or progress when dying
Why cam size is not 4:3??
