I finally learned the lead solo in it, I play it every time i pick up my guitar now, it is the most unusual solo Ive ever heard, I dont think most people pay attention to it but wow, what kind of mind could come up with that is how it makes me feel, it sounds random but is actually intricate, perfectly written and each upcoming note is not what you expect it to be, it seems to follow no known lead pattern. If LPost had never made any music other than that solo she would still be a remarkable person for it and then that it resides in one of the coolest songs ever written is just almost too much to handle.
By the time VS played most people were fried. They followed the Foo Fighters, Blink 182 played, Beck, Limp Bizkit, Millincoin, Ash, Thumb, Pennywise, Sick of it All, Pavement and a few others. It's a 3 day party so in Germany that's 3 weeks. The next morning started with Bush, Rollins, Marilyn Manson etc. VS was definitely dogged. I don't know if they had a lot of in fighting going on or if something was said. There's always so much BS out there. They said something in an interview. I was having to much fun to care, I was probably on my 15th pint by then.
They played like it mattered, IMO, despite the party atmosphere you describe. I think they are very special, because of the message in their lyrics and the great melodies they created. I am lucky to have met Louise Post at a show in Seattle, a genius in so many ways! Not to take away the contribution of Nina Gordon and the rest of the band, who had great ingenuity.
Had anyone heard of them in Germany at that time? What a bunch of stiffs. I saw them at Numbers nightclub in Houston right about the time 'Seether' had hit radio. Those little girls coming out with their guitars, opening with "All Hail Me"... I was HOOKED. Dang. so much fun.
One of my favourite Rock moments sharing a bottle of Dom with Nina backstage at their perth gig in WA ..what a top lady ..loved her vibe ..we'll catch up one day and pay homage to Bon in Freo !!
Why are there so many comments from people all over TH-cam who worry about whether or not people in the crowd are behaving like they believe is they way should?You buy your ticket and do as you please, if you wanna dance then dance, if you wanna stand there and do nothing but watch then so be it. As long as you're not disrupting the show what the fucks it matter?Stop judging others and worry about yourself.
OP probably is fun. I hate people that always worry about what others are doing at parties. I always want to be like: mellow out and let people just be. Assume everyone is doing what they want.
