Hey Josh, I've been watching some of your videos, but couldn't find one of you showcasing your daily shoes or the ones you actually wear frequently. I'd love to see one because I'm shopping for shoes, and we pretty much have the same feet (I'm a 27.2cm x 11.2cm)
Ah yeah, I have considered doing a video like that but never have done it. I find that I go through seasons of wearing the same few pairs, and they rotate every couple of months. Right now I've been wearing my Whitin lace-ups, my Shamma Sandals Numa Chargers, my Freet Tanga, my Splay Rev LT and 101s, my Lonowear Flow, and some custom Earthing Moccasins (I haven't reviewed these yet). Next if it's super cold, the Magical Shoes Alaskan boots. I traveled to a work function and rotated my Be Lenka Prime and my Origo Shoes Everyday Sneakers. That's most of what I'm wearing right now. I have another couple of pairs I'd like to wear right now but they're brand new and I haven't taken pics or video of them yet, so they're sitting on a chair begging me to wear them. One of them is my Splay Streetstyle Slipons. Can't wait. I'm majorly a slip-on shoes person. Anyway, that's a few of my current frequently-grabbed pairs.
Hey! New to your channel but I always appreciate barefoot shoe reviews :) I've been rocking Splays, Feelgrounds, and (not as often lately) Vivos for the past 2.5 years or so. I think it would be cool if you made a video on the Splay Freestyle 2.0 because of the recent changes they've made to the style and fit. They look great (like these Rev LT's) but they do feel narrower and without as much room for the toes and top of the foot due to the way they've stitched the top and attached the tongue on the inside corners (hopefully that makes sense). I ordered the same size I had of the original freestyle and they fit way tighter, so I had to return them... but I like the 101's a lot!
Aww bummer to hear about the Freestyle 2.0 .. It doesn't sound like something I would want to review if they wouldn't work for me. But yeah, the 101s, the new Street Style Slipons, and the Rev LT/HT are all great. Lovin Splay. Looking forward to trying their new Runner V1 also! Thanks for watching and commenting!
I hear you--I love 3-4mm too; but YOUR ideal, or MY ideal, is not everyone's ideal, nor is it the ideal for every circumstance. Case in point: this shoe is specifically designed for skateboarding, and 6.5 is pretty much ideal for a barefoot skate shoe--as I lifelong skater and a 12+ year exclusively barefoot shoe person, I can say that with some degree of authority. It's also a good mid-thickness sole for some barefooters who like the style of the shoe, and who--for a variety of possible reasons--don't need or want shoes as thin as you or I might prefer them. Different strokes for different folks, and different tools for different jobs, my friend!
These have 6.5mm soles, and they are a slightly more "structured" feeling shoe, since they are designed for skateboarding; BUT compared to Vans and other more conventional shoes of this style, these have way better groundfeel. HOWEVER, if you are just looking for shoes with the best groundfeel--not necessarily looking for a "Vans-style" shoe, or a skateboarding shoe--there are thinner more flexible soles out there. Maybe I can help steer you in the right direction based on your specific needs...
@@barefootshoejosh well honestly i feel in love with these looking at the design cuz I'm an avid vans wearer. i just bought feel grounds sneakers classic but i realized there is a slight pronation when walking that i didn't like and decided to return them. what doo you think of barebarics sneakers? do you think they are flexible? i saw a review on "why they don't work as a barefoot shoe" thanks for all your help
after looking at your youtube channel, i am going to look at your origo review and fleeters shoe. i really like Splay cuz they look like a sneaker; i wanna find a shoe that kinda looks normal as i live on a college campus, so i am a little self conscious as they notice everything lol. thanks for all your help
@@skippersam2760 I had one pair of Barebarics, but they were a little too narrow in the long run. I could have worn them and been fine, but the thicker, chunkier style didn't suit me as much as I thought it would. Their sister company, Be Lenka, makes wider and more flexible, barefoot friendly shoes. If you want something with a Vans-type look, this Splay Rev model (either HT or LT) would be my strongest recommendation... and if you're trying to avoid pronation, even more so--the slightly more structured feel is probably just what you need, I would think.
I’m thinking about trying these I’m flat footed hard to find shoes that don’t hurt my feet I do a lot of walking for work do u think these would be comfortable for flat footed people out there before I spend the money on them
Hi.. I think there is a good chance these could work for you, since there is no arch support in there to make your flat feet uncomfortable. Cool style, but the stack height is 6.5mm. That's too thick for a barefoot shoe IMO. 3-4mm stack height is ideal.
