I would listen because we share the same ideas about books. Wish I could share my books from the 70's, mostly pamphlets from yarn companies. The instructions are so brief. I taught myself in the early 1960's so I didn't have a clue about garments crochet. I made blankets which is fun, too. Now I am making sweaters and looking it. You give me a lot of confidence to try things. Thank you for helping an old lady learn to crochet new things.🤗

My kids worry about my obsession with handwork. I am 68 and I gave well over 1,000 craft magazines and books. Friends and kids have made me this way.

I don't feel so bad with the amount of books I have now. It was good to see a few I have are the same. I absolutely love vintage crochet books so can't wait for part 2! I think going through your books when you loose your crojo, is a great thing to do, it can often spark the creativity.

Omg that's so true! Flicking through these pages was really reinvigorating!!😁 I reckon I could squeeze in a few more books you know. I don't think my collection is complete yet!

Loved this episode and looking forward to part 2 - I’ve added a couple to my Amazon wish list. Books are not cheap and it’s good to hear your opinion - which I value. 🤓

Why, yes. I am quite happy sitting here listening to you talk about books, books, books. But, I understand about the tea 😄. Looking forward to part two! That was lovely, and so informative 💐

I only started crocheting about five months ago, so this video is helpful. I'm sure I'll be writing a few of these down to either buy at the thrift store (your charity shop) or check out from the library. For me, the simpler and smaller, the better ... the books that have too much information just end up overwhelming me. So far I have been wholeheartedly inspired by both you, and Sandra Paul. You two may be all I need! 😊 Thanks to you I'm going to be making a couple of the granny square bags with zips for little Christmas presents.

I'd like to have that Ladybird book. Love Ladybird. Tie for younger brother. How sweetly old fashioned.
I used to buy 2nd hand crochet books from Britain but after Brexit the postage has soared. Thank goodness for Google but your solid paper books are wonderful.
    Great vest you're wearing too

Impressive collection you have there! Although I have purchased quite a few books, I also have a huge *electronic stack* as I get most of my books online (Amazon). My Etsy and Ravelry printed patterns is a stack about 3 feet tall.

I'd completely forgotten about the Kindle ones I've got! Oh lordy!! 🫣 There are only a small handful of those though. I'm not even going to dare work out how many Rav and Etsy patterns I have!!! 🤯

I found this super helpful & loved hearing your thoughts about your books. I totally agree about how infuriating it is to have a border book that doesn't show you how to do corners!! I try to avoid buying books at all costs unless it's going to be used heaps!! I have issues with chemicals impacting on my body, so print & colour pictures affect me..... yet I find the kindle versions frustrating, cos they're not as easy to flick through like a real book!! Wow.... I sound like a real whinger whiner!!! Tee hee!🥰 Blessings from South Australia💕🐨

I hadn't even thought of print chemicals having any effect but yeah, I can see why it could cause issues for peeps with sensitivities. Huh!! Kindle stuff is useful but I easily forget about it. Xx
