    Hiya Rosina. Hope you are doing well. Can I just say that you are a fabulous funny lovely sweet woman. You definitely don’t need to change. Just continue being you. I am a knitter but stumbled across your podcast went to the first episode continued to the very latest & couldn’t stop watching. Sooo funny & natural which I absolutely love. You are a brilliant crocheter & designer. A little ray of sunshine into my home & very welcome too. 🥰😘

    I would totally buy a collection of your puff stitch patterns if you release them. I think the wavy edge puff border on the blue shawl you showed is the right size, works nicely. Love the htr c2c idea, genius.

    So pleased to see you back, I have missed your podcasts over the last few months. I love your work and the cheerful colours that you choose! I am really enjoying the movement of crochet in general towards more complicated designs, especially the garments that are being designed at the moment. Although I am only part way through my first jumper project but there are sooo many beautiful designs out there now that I would love to feel confident enough to make. Look forward to seeing you again when you next fancy a chat xx

    So wonderful to see you here. You do you. I love re-watching all your episodes when I need a crochet fix. I know where to stalk you. LEG WARMERS PLEASE. They are great for winter bike commutes and cross country skiing. Call them gaiters if you don’t like the 80’s reference. I’d love to see your take on a “leg warmer”. You’d be the one to bring it back in style. All your makes are EPIC. Your creations have elevated crochet to next level. Endless love and hugs from Canada.

    So lovely to see your face, Rosina! Looking forward to seeing some of these fab designs come to fruition.
    Frogging is definitely something you have to be zen about otherwise it can wreck the joy. I'm the same as you in that I need different projects of varying levels of difficulty so I always have something no matter my mood.
    That heat sounds horrible, and something those of us in traditionally hot countries often don't recognise is the impact no air con has. Here all of offices have air con and if it broke we would be sent home rather than sit in the heat. Outdoor work also ceases after certain temps. A lot of our homes are also built away from the afternoon heat where yours would be the opposite!

    • @queenambrosia
      @queenambrosia 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also in relation to your last question, I do think there has been some fab designs coming out in the year or so and some of it really creative and modern, as well as ones that allow the maker to take it to the next level with their yarn and colour choices. While I've been knitting a bit more this year, I still feel like knitting can't match the beautiful textures crochet creates and others are realising that.
      I think there is still a lot of the basic designs out there and not all of it quality, but everyone (maker and designer) has to start somewhere I guess. I'm finding myself steering away from those designs now that I know that I do and don't like. I still do simple stuff, but I feel there is a different between simple and lazy, and some of the stuff out there is very 'fast fashion' with no thought re shaping and style. No idea if that makes sense!

    • @zeensandroger3015
      @zeensandroger3015  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have become very zen about frogging. It's for a good reason, the best reason, so why get frustrated. Still, I have done a lot of frogging over the last few weeks and progress is slooooow.
      Honestly, people take the piss out of Brits for getting hot but there is NO AIR CON!!! Haha! Going to the supermarket is a joy because it's the only place that does have it.

    • @zeensandroger3015
      @zeensandroger3015  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@queenambrosia I totally agree with you. I kinda felt bad after I was mean about mug cosies because so many people love that kind of crochet. I almost cut it out but then I thought that would be disingenuous. Of course I love fun/simple/colourful crochet but I'm allowed to have an opinion on it and that opinion is that some crochet is really twee and gives the rest of crochet a bad name!

    Hi Rosina - I’m late viewing and commenting - I’m so happy to see you here again, I missed ya’! The stitch pattern on that cardigan is beautiful- bring on the puff stitches I say. Ummm …that shawl in your sister’s amazing f’ing INDIGO yarn ( did she grow it and make the dye??! OMG❤) - lovely! You’re such a great designer, but you know that so…🙌🏽 TH-cam has become cumbersome for viewers as well, so many ads and click-bait. We do love seeing you whenever you choose to chat! (Have you considered tik tok - quick chats,tutorials, updates? I know, but there are a lot of creators over there and I’ll admit I’ve found a few new people that I’ve actually started following.) Yes, I’ve noticed a change in what’s showing up crocheted - I think Moorit and the work you, Fay, Clarissa Beth, and all do are big contributors to this. Keep up the great work!

      @zeensandroger3015  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Halloooo Jill!! My sister has a big tin bath thingy that she was growing plants to create dyes. She didn't get enough success with the indigo so I think she bought some instead! It's lovely yarn and I enjoyed working with it. I have moved on with the shawl design but you might not see it again for a while as it's been re-conceptualised (if that's a word!!).
      I uninstalled tiktok. But I know it has a place right now. Maybe I will get tempted back!

    Loved everything, especially the bag, cardi & shawl! I really love the cardi & shawl with the puff stitches. I actually love the border on the shawl, but then if you did a new border I'd probably love that too! Yes, I do think crochet has changed in the last couple of years. I absolutely love more complicated crochet & crocheting with finer yarns & thread, but due to my illnesses my brain has good days & bad days! I need to have easy repetitive patterns for no brain involvement on those days! Blankets & shawls are my go to projects as I love the process more than starting or finishing. Enjoy your holidays! You've experienced Aussie style heat, except our hottest days are around 43C, but we do have A/C!🥰 Blessings from South Australia💕🐨

    i don't know how some people who create videos for youtube put out several videos a week. that's a lot of work on its own. how do they manage with life, work, family... so i cannot fault you for how you feel about it. although, i will say that i have missed your videos. i check my subscription list for anything new just in case i don't get the notifications. as far as the cardigan i am bad at thinking up names but it will be forever known to me as 'little cakes' because the stitch pattern reminds me of the embellishments on those little fancy cakes. you know, i hated crochet when i was a kid. it worked up so bulky and the yarn was so scratchy and a lot of it was ugly. that has changed - especially recently. simpler crochet has its' place and i appreciate and like it but i have seen such beautiful, intricate designs using lots of colours and varied patterns. i like creating those; they're like little pieces of art! right now i'm crocheting the blanket/shawl from the sherlock holmes series with jeremy brett. its simple but seems like its taking forever... that thin yarn, those tiny stitches!

      I guess there are those who treat it as a full time job. Especially when they have good viewing figures ad it pays them to do that. But if you're doing it for fun and community then there's no money in it save for a bit of pocket money to put back into the crochet business. I have really enjoyed working on this episode though so maybe the spark hasn't gone forever!
      I like lots of different crochet and there's something for everyone but I don't know if it's just me or if crochet definitely has turned a corner in terms of what more it can offer. I would love to design more projects that aren't the bulky scratchy things. I dunno!

    I will miss your videos if you don't make them as often.Your sweater is so pretty! Love your cowls. I enjoy making them, but have reached a certain age and now I am always hot. I will probably still make them tho. Someday I will be a cold old lady. I am all for the small, bright, fun things to make. I appreciate all the intricate, beautiful crochet, but I don't have the patience for it.

    I was so happy to see your new video pop up on my feed last night! To answer the last question in your video, I do think that crochet has changed in the last year or two. It always used to be looked at as less than knitting, a craft not an art. That view seems to be changing and with that have come some amazing designs that rival the knitting patterns being produced. I love granny squares and crazy colors, but I also love that crochet designers have taken what we all love about crochet and made patterns that are sophisticated.

    Hello Rosina! Such a wonderful holiday treat, pottering around my home, picking yarn and projects along with watching you! Your cardigan is a true triumph, my goodness! I fully agree with you as to how much crochet as change over the last few years. I think that a lot came from the dedicated love of designers like you who made it their mission to raise its profile (and pushing publishers as well as yarn companies to follow suit) and to show how imaginative patterns could be! No longer are sophistication and intricacies only showcased in the incredible crochet work our great grandmothers used to create. A great deal of learning has been done too by the general crochet amateurs, I think. However, there’s a place for everything, a bit like when we talk about various yarns stirring away from being mere snobs. Little, well-thought through projects are just as thrilling whether they are of the portable kind, pallet cleansers or of the quick gratifying nature! All the ideas trotting around your head will enchant us, whenever they will come to full fruition. Happy harvesting time!

    Thanks for a great visit. I love listening to you while I work. I am very inspired by your design process. I am most looking forward to the cardigan you are working on now. The design made me think of spring bulbs like Grape Hyacinth (Muscari). Just gorgeous. I am fond of crochet garments and am trying to learn how to make them. I agree, no more cozies!!! I am working on a series of household goods that starts with scrubbies and washcloths, for a series of posts in the future but my passion lies with garments now and fancy blankets. Just finishing a very intricate blanket. Thanks for what you do, I am totally happy with an open schedule, email notification works great! Keep up the awesome work.

    I was so happy to see a new video from you! Wow, I love that cardigan ... especially in the lighter color, but I think it may be a bit more difficult than I'm able to do just yet. The stitch you used would make a lovely small purse. Also, I think the lighter colored yarns show off the stitch pattern much better. The cowl is also so nice!
    For crochet patterns ... Blankets are my favorite, but I also like sweaters, wraps, cowls. A lot of the older type of crochet stuff turns me off, but I do like a colorful potholder, etc. so it's hard to say!

    • @zeensandroger3015

      The lighter yarn is deffo easier to see on screen but the darker yarns look lovely in real life. The cardigan is probably intermediate skill level but with the pattern, I will write it as clear as I can so that anyone with crochet knowledge would be able to make it. I am sure you have the skills to make one!

I have never bought a crochet cardigan pattern as I just know I wouldn't be able to do it. But I'm sure this one is going to be so popular, and you never know, I may just pull myself out of my comfort zone and go for it. 😊

    Hi Rosina! Lovely to catch up with you on your podcast again. Love all the designs you’re working on and must say I thought your hair was looking particular fab too.
    In response to your last question, I can’t really say if crochet as such has changed, or if I’m just exploring more sides (new (to me) designers) of it that I wasn’t aware of before. Definitely I’m (now) seeing lots more beautiful and elegant and really good crochet designs, as opposed to just all the cheerful bright stripes I used to see when I started out a few years ago.

    • @zeensandroger3015
      @zeensandroger3015  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Catherine! II had already replied to your comment a couple of days ago but TH-cam says I haven't!!
      I suppose it's a combo of being exposed to more of the high quality designs because that's what we want to explore. It's expanding interests and the fact that I'm sure there is just loads more of it (as well as designers determined to push the boat out) . I love a cheerful stripe but I want to see if used effectively. Not in twee crochet that isn't doing the craft justice. :)
